Moisturizers -Lancome - Bienfait Multi-Vital Nuit

Very nice moisturizer for normal-dry skin types. Has a buttery & comforting feel on the face w/o greasy shine, makes skin look healthy with a nice glow, very pleasant light fragrance. Reminds me of Cetaphil moisturizing cream but does not have quite the density of it, it's about 20% lighter in texture. This is a good choice for the winter months but come summer may be too heavy. Overall it's a worthy purchase & you would be quite pleased with it's moisturizing abilities, & in comparison to other Lancôme moisturizers it is reasonably priced & IMO better quality than their high end moisturizers. If you have super dry skin this "may" be suitable depending on your climate or Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream would be a better choice certainly in terms of cost: Cetaphil 2oz $7.99 vs Bienfait 1.7oz $50, however you can always justify the price if Lancôme is having 1 of their fabulous GWP events.......right? Right!

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Youth Dew

I understand perfume preferences is a personal choice but how anyone could possibly like this great-grandma smelling stinch is mind blowing. This has got to be the most wicked, offensive, rancid smelling scent in the market. My friends' 80 yr old mother told me that's all she's ever worn, I couldn't get myself to buy it for her for Christmas, I just couldn't do it so I bought Versace Bright Crystal instead just to enlighten her on what nice perfume should smell like. This perfume takes the word "gross" to a whole new level. Granted, everyones' sense of smell may vary but damn!...........how is it possible you find this appealing? How?

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Color Fever Metallic Sunburst
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 7/18/2012 3:58:00 PM

Beautiful shade of orange but somewhat "rusty" with glitter, great pigment but not overwhelmingly so. It's my favorite shade from the Color Fever line & I will not allow Lancome to pull a fast one on me by discontinuing the shade so I stock up on them during "Gift with Purchase Time". If I have a dull shade of lipstick all I have to do is apply this on top & wah-la my lips look alive without screaming at you. This shade is beautiful for all women all colors especially if you have warm skintones, it's got the right amount of pigmentation not to look too bold or too subtle & makes your lips look glamourous, beautiful for day or evening wear.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Pore Refining Solutions Stay-Matte Hydrator
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 5/27/2012 10:41:00 PM

Love it! Now that the weather is hot this helps (key word: Helps) to keep me looking fresh, matte, w/o drying my face out. I was quite impressed how flawless this lotion made me appear, as if I was wearing foundation. And though it has held up quite well on 80+ days the real test will be on 90+ days. Realistically speaking I suppose we shouldn't expect miracles since your body is doing what it's designed to do on hot humid days by secreting oils & sweat from your pores, but this product so far has kept me from looking like a greasy, slimy hot mess & that alone gives Clinique bragging rights.

Love it! After seeing all the negative reviews I must say in all due fairness I use the sils booster in addition & love the results. No smudging or fading, lashes looked great all day.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Intense
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 2/20/2012 6:43:00 PM

Ok it's like this......It all depends on your climate & tempertures. If it's 40-70 degrees outside this creme-gel is perfect for any skin type, below 40* you'd have to add a additional moisturizer on top or use something else, over 70* this would be too heavy. Women fail to understand what Moisture Surge really is, it's a moisture treatment, not a true moisturizer yet it can be used as 1 provided the outside tempertures are agreeable, yet that theory holds true for any moisturizer since some are heavy duty & some are lightweight. This is about 20% heavier than the "Extended" version, very hydrating & smooth. Since here in the USA northeast we've had a very mild winter so far so this creme has worked well for me. ETA: I should say the major difference between the "Intense" vs "Extended" version is this will add sheen on your skin since it's richer, where as the Extended sinks in & skin is almost matte in appearence.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 12/15/2011 6:57:00 PM

Anyone with dry winter weathered skin will appreciate this product, it's a "one size fits all" type of moisturizer, good for the body as well as the face, & guess what, because it doesn't have that "girly" look you can probably get your husband to use it as well. I love it as a facial moisturizer because it has the right balance, hydrating w/o oiliness. Now when the hot summers roll around you'll probably put this one up on the shelf, but for winter it's a absolute.

Cleansers -Lancome - Creme Douceur
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 12/15/2011 6:19:00 PM

This is a cream to oil m/u remover & works very effectively, only don't follow the directions on the tube, it say's to massage into skin then rinse off, well that proved to be ineffective since afterwards I always use a toner to insure there's no m/u residue left on the pad & I had several pads that were FULL OF foundation. However instead of rinsing, tissue it off (now that really worked)then follow with your regular cleanser, then your toner. Your face will be clean as a whistle. It's a very rich cream to oil, feels very luxurious on & spreads as smoothly as whipped butter. Just be sure to use it the way I suggested & you'll love it too.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 1 of 5
TerracottaSun 12/10/2011 3:12:00 PM

This is a sunscreen, nothing more nothing less. It doesn't "correct" anything. The same sun spot I've had greets me every morning, hasn't faded, bold as ever. And if you use it be prepared to powder your face afterwards unless you like out shining the sun.

Cleansers -Christian Dior - Purifying Foaming Cleanser with Crystal Iris Extract
rated 4 of 5
TerracottaSun 11/5/2011 5:20:00 PM

Generally not impressed. It does clean well w/o drying but so do many other cleansers w/o a $32 USD price tag. It's lightly fragrant & I had no reaction to it & the foam is very soft, could easily be used by dry skin as well though this is suppose to be for normal/combo skin. Can't tell you how well it removes m/u since I always use a m/u remover 1st then follow up with a cleanser, but I can tell you this product can't touch their Magique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser which has been discontinued, & why they got rid of such a good thing is mind boggling. I will use this up & then move on.

This serum does nothing, absolutely nothing, & Lancome wants how much money......$88 USD!!!.....They must be smoking a crack pipe or snorting coke, either that or they're crazy or think we are. Before you pay that kind of money for this useless serum wait till you can get it for free in 1 of their gwp events, you'll thank me for waiting.

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - Renergie Lift Volumetry
rated 3 of 5
TerracottaSun 3/27/2011 6:32:00 PM

If bags/puffiness under the eye is a concern than this is NOT the cream for you. It has some sort of light reflecting substance in it that does not help to camouflage bags but instead highlights them, it does not lift or tighten either. If dryness is your only concern then you'll love the soothing & moisturing properties of this cream. If lines/wrinkles are your concerns than who knows since I don't have those issues but more than likely at best this cream may soften the appearance, but rid them, I don't think so. Just like the face cream this has a very luxurious feel but for $65 USD you've got to do more than be a "feel good" product. Sorry Lancome but for my issues with bags this is a epic fail.

TerracottaSun 3/27/2011 6:09:00 PM

Review is for the normal-combination version & is very hydrating, soothing, & moisturizing w/o putting a sheet of grease on your face, but lifting? Hmnn, I didn't notice that, & since that's 1 of the primary functions of this cream that makes it a fail, & there should be no failures when Lancome is asking $88 USD for a 1.7oz jar. So if lifting is of no concern to you as it is a minor concern to me than this is a very luxurious cream which is quite impressive. I received a generous .5 oz jar at 1 of their gwp events & due to the density of this cream it should last for quite awhile & if I want more.......hello ebay!

Liquid -Christian Dior - DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup SPF
rated 5 of 5
TerracottaSun 3/6/2011 6:37:00 PM

One word describes this & that is "AWESOME"!! Worth every penny they charge & still some. As a African American woman I just made it in the color selection, shame on Dior for not offering darker shades of this foundation though they do for Diorskin Nude. My shade is #50/Dark Beige, which I use to wear Dark Beige in Diorskin Fluide which has since been discontinued & I freaked out when I went to buy it & have been on the hunt ever since with hit & misses, yet this alternative is absolutely fabulous, better than all the rest. Leaves your complexion looking flawless, medium coverage, with a semi-matte natural glow finish. Oily skin types would love this, though my skin type is normal & since it's winter I just put on a real hydrating moisturizer 1st, then apply this with my foundation brush & since I'm no m/u expert for the finish to look so absolutely beautiful means it's so easy to apply. I truly was amazed since moisturizers & foundations that contain SPF 15 & higher tend to be so oily, but not this one. This foundation will be a God send during the summer when skin becomes oilier. No touch ups needed, looked beautiful all day until I took it off. I gotta admit 1 thing though, it's not as yellow based as Diorskin Fluid was which was so perfect for me but much to my suprise after blending it in it looked awesome. Beautiful finish........please Dior don't rock my world again by discontinuing this one, I love it!!

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Miracle
rated 1 of 5
TerracottaSun 2/27/2011 4:23:00 PM

What do you women see in this foundation, huh? If you're looking for the slightest coverage, acne scars/sun spots, forget it. Moisturization, nada. How about a semi matte or dewy look? Well that ain't happening either. And oh please, don't go by my age, cause my skin can hold up to any 30ish yr old out there, no lines, wrinkles, or dryness, perhaps because I'm a woman of color. Back to this foundation, which btw say's it's a lifting foundation, well I didn't see that either though I have little that needs lifting yet it couldn't even handle that. It spreads on somewhat heavy but is actually quite light since it covers absolutely nothing & dries down to a powdery type finish, my face looked dry & bland. I had a generous sample from Lancome in which I tried working with this 3x with the same result. I can't even recommend this for the summer months, whatever for, there's no coverage or evening out your skin tone. While Lancome is quite generous with their samples in which I do appreciate yet they're gonna have to do a lot better in terms of quality if they expect me to kick out that kind of money. This is a case of "you DON"T get what you paid for" which = ripoff !!!
