This stuff is so worth the money. I have really short, dead straight, thick hair and this is the only product that will keep my hair textures and 'up' all day long. If you use some finishing spray on top of that it really holds your hair without feeling oily, or rock hard. I've tried KMS Molding Paste, Schwarzkopf Osis, L'Oreal Web and Kusco-Murphy Rockster Hair, and none of them have worked as well as this. I'm from Australia, and it cost AUD52 which is alot considering it's just hair product, but it works so well and you really don't need much each time you use it. As one reviewer said before there is a bit of a weird smell, but it fades after you apply it, doesn't linger or anything so its not really a problem.

Crème -Shu Uemura - Nobara [DISCONTINUED]

Due to the mixed reviews I didn't quite know what to expect when I tried this product but I really liked it. The texture is lovely, soft with a nice powdery finish that doesn't flake on my dry skin. It's great for around the nose area where I have a lot of blackheads, giving plenty of coverage for smooth, perfect skin. It has a slight sheen, very subtle so that it could suit most skin types. I've tried applying this with both a sponge and a brush and I have to say I like the sponge better. That way the application is a bit thicker which is what I generally want when I use this particular foundation. As a previous reviewer said, when the sales assistant applied it for me they kept choosing tones that were far too light, and personally I like to look a bit darker for a more 'alive' look. It wasn't a problem though once I explained what I wanted and they chose the appropriate colour for me. Shu always deliver.

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere
rated 5 of 5

This is the absolute best foundation for dry skin. It is so dewy, makes you look incredibly fresh and vibrant. My skin glows in this stuff. It's so easy to apply, brush, hands, sponge - it all works! There's a great range of colours, mostly yellow-based so it's very flattering. Also, it lasts forever. You really don't use that much, even if you do a full face application. It is pricey but it's Chanel, so you can't really expect it to be bargain. It's worth the money though, just fork out the cash now for a quality foundation rather than spending your money on something mediocre. Your skin will thank you :D The only problem I have is with the packaging - they use a pump so there's always some leakage left over that you have to wipe up otherwise it gets crusty and just plain disgusting. That's the only thing you have to wary of but that always happens when there's a pump involved. Other than that, this product is perfection.

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Mascara Waterproof
rated 1 of 5
Terracotta 11/5/2005 9:52:00 PM

This mascara is awful. Firstly, the price is outrageous - AUD48 is ridiculous. Secondly, the product is runny and is definetly NOT waterproof. Everytime I use it, I return home after a couple of hours at a dinner and I've ended up with panda eyes - not very attractive. I really like the normal DiorShow so I had high expectations for the waterproof. Seriously, the non-waterproof is more waterproof than this. It's just too wet and doesn't dry well. Clumping hasn't been a problem at all, but the fact that doesn't stay on after about 2 hours is just pathetic.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Brush - short handle
rated 5 of 5

This brush is fantastic. Hands down the winner for me. I use Chanel Liquid Vitalumiere and this brush is great for smooth, easy application. I wouldn't say I'm especially proficient in applying makeup but this just makes it so easy. I've tried the Becca (mediocre), Body Shop (totally crap), the MAC (which was good but I lost and couldn't bring myself to fork out the money again) and the GA (cost a fortune) foundation brushes and the Bobbi Brown is truly superior. It's also quite easy to wash, I just use my cleanser or soap - both work without any shedding. This is the one to buy, especially if purchasing the GA brush is too painful.

Mascara -Shu Uemura - Lash Repair
rated 3 of 5
Terracotta 11/5/2005 9:40:00 PM

This has done wonders for my coarse, Asian lashes. I've really noticed the difference over the past few months in that the lash repair has made it much easier for me to apply mascara as well as to curl my lashes. They're also stronger but they didn't really need to be. I don't use the mascara basic from shu, just the maybelliene full n' soft and its worked out fine. The only problem I'm really having with this is that I can't really tell when i've finished using the product which is probably just my own ignorance but irritating nonetheless.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Ultra Facial Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5

I love this! Right now I'm using a moisturizer from the IoD range, and this is just so much better! I have dry-normal skin and its perfect for me. It's thick and creamy, hydrating, and leaves my skin soooo smooth so that it's alright if I forget to use my face masque for a few more days. Although, I never really liked the Kiehls packaging but I love what the product is doing to my skin.

Eye Shadow -Stephane Marais - Eyeshadow (Ombre)
rated 4 of 5

I bought this in #2 and I really like it. It's a deep purple shade, completely wearable, and gorgeous as a liner as well. The shadow lasted for most of the day (in the burning heat of Australian summer) and the packaging is very cute.

Blush -Stephane Marais - Blush Creme
rated 4 of 5
Terracotta 2/25/2004 2:49:00 AM

I've got this in #2, and so far I'm really enjoying it. The colour is a fairly deep red, with bluish undertones. It doesn't have much shimmer or glitter, so it looks really natural once applied, and its really easy to use as well! I still think the GA cream blushes are better, but I'm loving this, especially with the gorgeous packaging.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Diorific Long-Wearing True Color Lipstick

I usually don't like lipstick but I LOVE this. I got it in Rose Abracadabra and its absolutely gorgeous. It really does last and so far I'm not having too many lipliner issues. My lips also aren't that ideally smooth but this lipstick didn't emphasize that at all. Love it!
