Lips -E.L.F. - Plumping Lip Glaze
Tallywa 12/5/2012 5:57:00 AM
this is very pretty and a great bargain. it's very glossy and can help achieve tht wet look, which is sososooo pretty.the packaging isn't extremely sophisticated but it's cute and practical. and it doesn't look cheap. it tingles a bit when you first apply it, but then it goes away. i dont see any plumping effects, but it's great for on the go and it looks good. for 1 dollar, this is really worth trying..

BB Cream -Skin79 - Super+ BB Cream Pink Label
Tallywa 10/28/2012 4:52:00 AM
i really like this. it has good enough coverage to cover up the redness around my nose, minor acne scars, and enough of my circles for me to look awake. my favorite thing about this though is how completely natural it looks. it hides my pores amazingly too. it says it adjusts to your skin tone, and it does, but it's not really accurate, the grey tone does go away but i feel like it just dries more yellow toned than it goes on. its buildable, but i wouldnt suggest putting on alot all over the face, just building it around blemishes and on dark circles works really well for me. its finish looks slightly shiny, so i usually use a bit of powder just to get off the shine, but otherwise it lasts well and controls oil decently. dont expect it to be completely matte, but it does stay on without looking completely oily all day for me some people have said it breaks them out, and think that's the case with me too, except it only breaks me out around my nose, so i think ill try bb creams but use this to cover my dark circles in the mean time

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Benetint
Tallywa 8/30/2012 8:48:00 AM
good for a lipstain but there is very little color variety. i no theres the posie and cha cha but they don't stay on, or at least, cha cha doesn't, and since theyre of the same consistency when swatched i shall assume posie doesn't stay either. i agree with the person who said food coloring would be an excellent substitute but i personally do not like putting things i usually put into my mouth onto my face (yes i know technically the lips is part of the mouth, but i just feel weird, ok? its the mentality of it), the product itself, however, i actually like, with the rose scent and awesome staying powder on my cheeks and lips, but honestly, if you (like me) feel weird using food coloring, there is still tons of other cheap options, like the mememe cheek and lip tint pussycat, they also have a dupe for posie tint, highbeam and sunbeam. sephora has a cheek and lip tint too, which has more color options, such as pinot, a more warm red (which i am trying to find where i live with little success), and a more cool one i think. overall, this is a good product, but there are tons of cheaper options which are almost exact dupes (srsly, the mememe one even has the same bottle and rose scent), so don't waste your money

Tinted Moisturizer -Philosophy - Hope In A Tinted Moisturizer
Tallywa 8/30/2012 8:33:00 AM
i am not into tinted moisturizers in general, but the following cons are mostly pointed at this product in particular 1. they don't stay very well on me 2. they get oily on me. fast. 3. they look somewhat... nonexistent when i put them on, like it has no coverage 4. the color selection is poor, which isn't too bad, since its so sheer, but the undertones look weird on me (im asian) 5. i can just make my own. u can say im biased, which i am, but this simply did not work for me. it would probably work for people with dryer skin and less imperfections tho

Loose Powders -Palladio - Rice Powder Loose Natural
Tallywa 8/30/2012 8:20:00 AM
this is amazing at keeping me mat while having that satin finish that keeps my skin from looking dead (tho i do enjoy a completely mat look now and then, so i maybe biased). it has the finish similar to the maybelline dream matte powder while keeping me mat for about the same amount of time as the blot powder, i haven't really tested it yet but it seems pretty similar and i prefer the finish of this one. so if you're planning to get the maybelline dream matte powder, don't bother, get this instead. blot powder from mac, however, is still worth trying, since its a pressed powder and if you tend to do touch ups (which i detest with a passion, i don't have the time or energy to worry about my makeup on a daily basis!), it will be very convenient.i have yet to try it in the translucent formula but i definitely will in the near future!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Cha Cha Tint
Tallywa 8/30/2012 8:13:00 AM
a wonderful cheek tint, pity it doesn't stay better on my lips. this, unlike the original benetint, is more of a gel consistency than liquid, so on my lips it never seems to dry completely and slips off first chance it gets. its a very pretty color for the cheeks however, and it stays put there, i think this should be a staple in every warm toned girls makeup bag.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
Tallywa 8/15/2012 8:50:00 AM
i find this to be just as good as the mufe one. i can use this before and after my foundation/concealer but usually i just use it after because i use a primer before, i also use this to dust over my eyelids after whatever look i do to help it stay in place and not smudge off on my oily eyelids.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
Tallywa 8/15/2012 8:45:00 AM
one of the best drugstore gel liners, however i find it didn't stay as well as my fluidline when tightlining, this is great for waterlines tho. i find this kind of smudges away (somewhat like the essence one) instead of flaking away when i rub it along with the fluidline, it's still a very good gel liner if you're looking for a cheap one that will stay put, id choose the essence one if you can get your hands on it tho cuz i find it stays just a bit longer and the packaging is definitely more secure so it wont dry out as fast if you use this for traditional lining or if you have eyelids that wont pretty much make almost all liners smudge off, this is a great product

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Cream eyeshadow in Mushroom
Tallywa 8/15/2012 8:41:00 AM
first off, the color is just goegeous. its a very wearable taupe with lots of shimmers and looks amazing as a base for just about any thing. this can be worn alone but in the winter months i wouldn't suggest it. i've had this for about half a year now and its alot less creamy in winter therefore takes alot more work to build up pigmentation and actually get it to show up. in the summer this + some translucent powder on top and a bit of stragetically placed eyeliner (both white and black) would suffice for both a night out look and would also work as a day look. this wouldn't smudge, though it does fade. if you want this color to stay put udpp would definitely have to be put underneath. or the elf mineral eyeshadow primer, which is a total dupe (though i still bought both udpp and the elf one, cuz thts how keen i am on my make up staying put). over all, if you were to only get one color from the collection, i think this is a good place to start.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light
Tallywa 7/4/2012 10:38:00 PM
this is (obviously) lighter than the original, and it doesn't have as much of a slip, it feels much better, and absorbs a lot faster. i don't find this makes my make up last longer or control my oiliness tho, so i wouldn't repurchase

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
Tallywa 7/4/2012 10:36:00 PM
this feels heavy, doesn't control oil, and is way over priced. the elf mineral infused primer feels very similar, this is just thicker. i like this for under the eyes, but anywhere else and the oil breaks through pretty dang fast

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass - Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15
Tallywa 7/4/2012 10:34:00 PM
i like this. it has a lot of slip to it without feeling silicone-y, compared to smashbox photofinish this is a lot lighter but i find it works just as well, i really do notice a difference in the lasting power of my make up when i have this on, but not the oiliness, so while i look for the perfect primer, this will do

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray
Tallywa 7/4/2012 10:25:00 PM
it feels lightweight and dries to a matt finish while taking away the powdery look, but i don't find it helps me stay matt for a significantly longer amount of time, i bought the small bottle, and i have tried this under and over make up, it's good for oily skin, but probably not very oily skin. also, it doesnt make my makeup look less cakey at all, which is good i suppose, since it doesnt disturb anything, but if you do like your makeup to look a bit more dewey, try just water. or water with aloe vera gel or a bit of glycerin or a bit of your daily moisturizer (if you have dry skin, only, and only like a 1:10 ration for moisturizer : water)

Eyeliner -Essence - Gel Eyeliner
Tallywa 6/18/2012 5:53:00 PM
this is a great drugstore liner, but i personally prefer the mac fluidline. this is very creamy and very black, blacker than the mac one and i love this for traditional lining, however, my favorite way to line my eyes is tightlining, in which this stuff smudges, not badly and only after 4 hours (with no primer and not setting it, i just watched movies, so no sweating or anything), but still smudges, and my day is usually pretty long and there's usually a bit more sweating involved. it does, however, do well against some other eyeliners i have, so it's still a very good product. when i put this and fluidline side by side on the back of my hand, let it dry, and rub it, i notice fluidline kind of flakes off while this one smudges off, i think that's why it smudges on my eyelid. this stuff stays pretty well on the waterline, so i'll keep using it for that, but i would honestly rather spend the 18 dollars on fluidline than this, just for that peace of mind. it's great if you don't have super oily eyelids like i do tho, so i'd still recommend it. UPDATE: it smudges like crazy on my waterline too, again, as opposed to flaking away in little bits (and not giving me the panda look)
