Hair -Manic Panic - Virgin Snow Toner
rated 4 of 5

I haven't found a review anywhere that has been exactly how I used it, so here goes my story. I initially lightened my hair w a 40 vol lightening kit, unevenly and brassy I might add, and added ion color brilliance brights in magenta. I decided I wanted it to be more pastel so I did some additional bleaching. Well after the last bleaching (a bleach bath), sooo much pink was removed my hair looked light orange. I wanted it to look pastel pink or like a blonde/pink combo. My hair didnt feel that great (or that bad though) so I wanted to tone it w something that wouldn't cause addl damage (ie white lady by wella). Onto the virgin snow. I did the bleach bath (look up online) and did NOT condition. I blew dried. I applied a whole tub to my shoulder length hair and processed 2 hours under a cap with occasional heat. The results were nothing short of amazing at the root but there's still a little yellow at the lengths which have been processed SO many times w so many dyes only a haircut would solve that. Will definitely repurchase. My hair feels like silk.

Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance

I got this in the high-lift ash blonde (forget the number; maybe 12.5 but was the lightest or one of the lightest). You MUST pre lighten hair if its dark to use this. I used a bleach/30-40 vol developer and let it get to a light brassy yellow, dried it, and mixed this up with 2 oz 30/40 mix developer (don't try that at home kids; my hair soaks up bleach like you wouldn't believe. Use 30 to be safe). I added a packet of red orange corrector and half a 2 oz bottle of protein color filler #3 platinum. These extra steps were to ensure I was getting an ashy blonde, not golden. I left it on w a shower cap for one hour and WOW! No stylist has ever been able to get my hair that color before! Probably cause they weren't as aggressive w the bleach. But trust me, this stuff is better than drugstore stuff. Oh and I washed it out with purple shampoo and a deeeeep conditioner meant for light light hair again, to cancel out brasiness. No damage and beautiful hair. Oh my hair was far from virgin too... I had all types of crap under it ;) Now to figure out how to do the roots when they come in...

I am new to unnatural colors and they were out of MP Hot Hot Pink so I got this in Magenta. WOW!! Gorgeous even over my botched and blotched bleach job. Lasted so far thru 5 washings in tepid water w sulfate free products and some deep conditioning; color just as vibrant. Didnt rinse clear first time and each time I shampoo the suds are pink but it rinses clear w conditioner. Didnt bleed on anything. Scrubs off easily. Didnt Vaseline my hairline. It is VERY THICK so I'm considering doing a 50/50 of MP HHP and Ion Magenta just to try next time but if its broke should I fix it? Email me for pix tchevdar@gmail.com. Can't wait to try BLUE!! I wear black extensions underneath to see if I wana dye down there or not... LOVE black w cool colors :)

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Tulle
rated 5 of 5

so i now have 3 of these, one a repurchase, so you know i love the formula. to me, they are non-drying; moisturizing, in fact. i take good care of my lips and am well hydrated though so they're in pretty good condition to begin w/. creamy, long-lasting rich opaque color. i have sandwash pink (my first lipstick repurchase EVER) which is def a MLBB (my lips but better) shade for me. it's like a medium pinky beige. i wear pink beige gloss over it, they are like the same color. then i have brownie. this is quite a dark 'brownie' pink. it is very different and much darker than sandwash pink but i'd still consider it in the neutral family. i sometimes wear rosy gloss over it to give it some depth but this one i like very much on its own. finally, i just received tulle in the mail sight unseen because i wanted something w/ a 'pop' of color but not TOO blatant like red or something and an online MUA i was chatting w/ recommended it based on my coloring. she recommended the marina pink sheer gloss atop. i bought that combo and am VERY happy w/ it. it is indeed a bright but not over the top medium-dark pink. it looks gorgeous w/ the marina. even my husband who is impartial to makeup and just thinks it gets in the way said he liked it, since he either usually can't tell one color from another or like if i have neon pink on obviously that's for me, not him. he said it was a nice bold color but not "too overwhelming". i will definitely look to bobbi's lip colors for my future lipstick needs. i have not found a formula i like better, and i've tried make up forever, shiseido, urban decay, nars, clinique, lancome, dior, guerlain, yves st laurent, mac, bare escentuals, multiple drugstore brands... to name a FEW!

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Lip Gloss

TBonita 2/1/2013 4:27:00 PM

one of my 2 fave lip gloss formulations. the other is buxom but i don't always want that "tingle". on me, this gloss does what buxom does, which is plump my lips and stay on forever, with just a comfortable lush feeling on the lip. i have pink beige for now which pairs like a dream w/ bb sandwash pink lip color but in the unlikely event that i find a need ANOTHER shade of gloss (i'm a real junkie), i'll be going to the bobbi counter.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Lip Color - Sandwash Pink #22
rated 5 of 5

my only lipstick repurchase EVER. i have every shade in every brand of lipstick and this is my every day go-to. wouldn't wear for a special occasion or anything even w/ a dark eye i like a more NUDE nude but this is a great medium pinky beigey nude. wear it under my "pink beige" bb lip gloss and my lips are lush and perfectly colored for day time wear. i am a warm beige 3.5 and nw 25 for reference. stays on all day.

i can't decide if i like this or bobbi's better. pretty darn good, though. stays on all day. have had mine for an eternity (i really only use it when i want drama) and not a bit dried out. i like to use a stiff, angled eyeliner brush w/ this. makes a glorious cat eye.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 2 of 5
TBonita 1/31/2013 3:21:00 PM

i know this is so many people's hg but i hated it. it left a very flat, one dimensional mask-like appearance on my skin. and i like a matte look... this was not good. and a bottle w/ no pump!?!? c'mon it's 2013 people. so messy unhygienic and cheesy. for a long wearing foundation give me MAC pro longwear any day.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

gold standard. lost count how many of these i've gone through. if you were turned off from the original "genie in a bottle" type product-wasting tube they've redone it to a squeeze tube. i reach for this every single morning. i have SERIOUS oily creasing lids and this product performs.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
TBonita 1/31/2013 3:11:00 PM

i have a big ol' pump bottle of this under the sink for a quick am cleanse. does not remove makeup (well my makeup at least) and in the summer when i wake up even w an oil slick all over my face will probably use a stronger gel cleanser. very gentle. do not even need to rinse it.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5
TBonita 1/31/2013 3:02:00 PM

i really like this nail polish. i have it in a deep purpley-burgundy and a nude. i like the wide brush and how one coat gives tremendous color payoff. i think these are better than essie or opi nail polishes in terms of pigmentation and staying power. shiny and gorgeous. will def buy more shades.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 5 of 5
TBonita 1/30/2013 4:48:00 PM

This was on sale pretty cheap on hautelook so I decided to give it a look on here, amazon and fragrantica. Well I was hooked of course by the reviews. Lasts 200 hours? Beastly sillage? Check! Fragrances dissolve on me like loves baby soft. And the notes sounded intriguing and to my liking. So I went to the mall and tried some generous spritzes immediately. My first impression was kinda ambivalent. Bunks the 'love it or hate it' theory. I kinda forgot about it. Then, it was the next day, and I smelled the residuals on my jacket. Well I ripped the fuzzy hood liner off that baby and snapped it to my neck so I could bask in the heavenly sluice all day. Dark yet sweet divine vanilla-y patchouli. It did not arrive in the mail soon enough... I was literally checking the tracking every hour so I could go home and get it immediately when it arrived. Oh.. And those sweet top notes? I'm now hooked on those, as well. Look out, skeptics, this scent will grow on you like a fungus. Yes, there is a faint dirty body odor thing going which is called patchouli. Remember, hippies wore it, and they smelled 'dirty'? That was patchouli. It's earthy and not for the faint hearted. Yet, it's sweet too! Confusion, on line one! This is a heavy, heady scent that is complex and should be worn with confidence. This is no shrinking violet. It's so me. My other favorite scent is shalimar if that says anything about my taste which I don't think does. Sorry, people around me who can smell this (and the sillage is nowhere near as scary ON ME than I was looking forward to), but this is my dark angel. The bottle should be a black boudoir job from the 20s. Try but don't write it off right away. It may have you coming back. On to the hair spritz and deodorant!

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color shadow stick
rated 3 of 5
TBonita 1/30/2013 4:33:00 PM

Love the delivery, don't love the product. Being used to the satisfying color payoff of, say, an UD shadow or a Bobbi long wearing cream shadow, this fell short. Hazel combo so light and sheer u could barely see it. Tried w and w/o primer. Colors were pretty just could hardly see them. Will use up on a very nude daytime eye w brown liner.
