Eye Shadow -NARS - Ashes to Ashes
Suzanne941 1/24/2013 12:07:00 PM
Goes on sheer on me and maybe I'm just cheap but it bothers me they don't throw in an applicator like Chanel or Dior. On me, the kicker is it's an exact dupe of Wet 'n Wild's Color Icon in Nutty! got that in Walgreen's for 99 cents and cannot tell the difference between it and the Nars. I actually think the WnW wears slightly better, even over primer

Pricey, but we're paying for that famous logo on the cap too. Love this color, a terrific soft coral, perfect for daytime.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Fresh
Suzanne941 4/29/2011 1:16:00 PM
this stuff is amazing. I ordered a sample with some Shu eye makeup I bought because I use an Anessa sunblock and was having some trouble getting it all off (just like the label says). It's terrific here in muggy Florida weather and gets off everything including eye makeup without stripping my skin. There's a lot of unscientific hooey about mineral oil being "bad" for you but since it rinses clean off the skin I think I'll survive. I use my Olay cleansing brush a few nights a week with Cetaphil to ensure complete removal. I also LOVE that it doesn't tug at my eye area to get waterproof liner off! I've found I don't need the very generous 3 or 4 pumps the label recommends - 1 will do. I prefer the A/O formula when the air is drier but this cleanser is fantastic.

Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Tinted Moisturizer

very good coverage - more pigmented that a lot of tinted moisturizers. Wears well without turning too oily, a feat here in Florida. I would purchase again.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Coral Reef
Suzanne941 4/7/2011 3:45:00 PM
Love this product! Wears beautifully with good coverage, no scent, a cap that CLICKS into place so you don't have gloss leakage in your bag, SPF 15 AND you can get tt at drugstores! And the color draws more compliments than my Clinique. Perfect for summer. Found out about it here at MUA, by the way!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Matte

I've been very happy with this foundation. I put it on with a damp sponge (so I don't really miss the pump that's not included) over Anessa Perfect Mild sunblock and it wears very well and does not fade or transfer. The Anessa BTW is an amazing product and makes makeup stick like paint! I wear Ceylan (MAC NC 25, I think) and the coverage is good. I wasn't happy with the packing since the screw-on cap is stripped or something and doesn't close too precisely, so I took off a lippie for that. At this price point, the whole package should be close to perfection. But overall, I like it.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Anessa - Mild Sunscreen (face) SPF 43 PA+++

This is the only sunscreen I've found that stands up to summer humidity in Florida and it actually improves the wear of make-up. It's amazing, and I've tried a bunch of them. It's lightly tinted (so if you're fair like me, it's OK, but might be ghostly on darker tones). A Filipino friend of mine turned me onto this and it's unbeatable. Be prepared to work to get it off. I wish it were available here in the states! C'mon FDA, get with the program!

Lipstick -Lancome - Color Design Matte Lipstick

I got this in Corset and I like it. It's, incredibly, a smooth texture matte red that doesn't dry my lips and wears well for several hours. The red is a soft coral-tinged color, so if you're looking for drop-dead red, this isn't it. But it's a terrific shade and I'm looking forward to trying another color in this line.

Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear

I liked this TM much better than a few I've paid more for (eg, Benefit You Rebel Lite). Good product for the price. I don't know what that smell is either (lavender, as mentioned?) but I found it a lot less greasy than the Benefit or DuWop TMs. For the price, you can't beat it.

I like this color. I'm fair so it gives me a little lift...I was apparently lucky to get pigment in mine! One thing I dislike about it is the scent. It's very strong but dissipates quickly. I have Dallas and it is also heavily scented, so if you're sensitive, stay away!

Tinted Moisturizer -DuWop - Revolotion Face
Suzanne941 5/29/2009 8:37:00 AM
I really wanted to like this product. The sample in Caitlin looked great and wore well but when I got my first tube from duwop.com -- discovered the dreaded oil separation. (Should have come to MUA first!) Even shaking it doesn't seem to help as it just keeps separating. With the increased humidity now in Florida, it's just too greasy looking. Back to sunblock + foundation for me...

Compares favorably to MAC matte and about 1/3 the price. Good wear.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - BADgal Plum

I like this product. I generally wear Rimmel but was so impressed with Benefit's eyeshadow that I tried the BadGal Plum. I don't even need eyeliner with it (blue eyes) and it wears incredibly well without smudging.

Sunscreen -SkinMedica - Environmental Defense Sunscreen SPF30+

I like this product under foundation and I've tried a bunch. I live in Florida and use Retin-A, so sunscreen year-round is a must. Since I'm 'over 40' and use the Retin-A, I'm a little drier than the other reivewer. I still get shiny during the day, but blotting papers fix that. My aesthetician recommended it to me too, but I get it online for less. I'm fair so the whiteness isn't a problem but you have to blend it carefully and let it set up for a while before applying makeup. It's non-irritating and not nearly as greasy as DDF's.
