Fantastic brush ! I've always used MAC brushes, thinking that the more you spend, the better quality brush you get. Couldn't have been more wrong. I saw the great reviews on this brush and thought I'd try one. As they are so cheap, I thought I had nothing to lose and if it didn't work out I would not have lost a lot of money. I have now purchased two of them - one for powder and one for liquid. It really is the best and most effective way of putting on liquid foundation. Better than my MAC stippling brush. It might take a while to get the technique right, but you can always check out some YouTube videos of how to apply with this brush. Buy one. You won't regret it.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer

Hmmm....I love Philosophy Purity Cleanser so I thought I would try this out. It is a good moisturiser for dryer, more mature skin. It is a strange consistency - starts like a runny, watery cream but them kind of turns into a gel on the face. I must say, it stung me slightly on application but that soon went. I did not end up with a red face with this and found it very moisturising....however, not sure about the 'anti-aging' claim, I found it did no more than a good quality moisturiser would do. It certainly leaves the skin very smooth. The only issue is when using it under foundation. This product leaves a kind of 'tacky film' on the face when applied. I found that if I tried to apply foundation over it, because it is tacky the foundation stuck to my face and made it very hard to blend....under foundation I prefer something more 'greasy' so that my foundation kind of slides around, to make it easier to blend. I have dry skin and use a longwear foundation so I need something underneath that is more dewey than matt. So, my verdict is - good for mature, dry skin. Does not irritate and is good as a night cream. You will be pleased with the results in the morning. Would also be good as a day cream, if you did not apply as much. However, try this under foundation because it might cause you problems with application.

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Extra SPF 25 Moisturizing Balm

So I'm aged 42 and my skin does become dryer over the years which means I do need a good moisturiser for dry skin. This one is great - but not really for people with oily skins, I can see that you need dry or more mature skin to appreciate it. I can leave an oily film, which is fine for night-time but perhaps not so good during the day. However, I find it has really made a difference during the day to my foundation application. My foundation is MAC Pro Longwear and although I love it, it's a pig to wear if you have dry skin. so this moisturiser is ideal to use as a base - it leaves my skin dewy even with this longwear foundation, even though I have dry skin. If you have more mature skin which is dry, this is great as overnight cream and as a foundation base (MUA tells me it contains a primer). During the day, on bare skin, you may find it looks too greasy. I guess it depends on how dry your skin is. I don't mind the open jar container as I always have clean hands and fingers to apply it, so I'm not concerned about the hygene aspect. Downside - price. It is extremely expensive. However, you only need a blob of it for the whole face. I'll work through the jar and see how long it ends up lasting me. Hopefully it will last me a few months and then I can justify the cost

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme

I cannot believe that over the years I have spent so much money on every moisturiser known to man. You name it, I've bought it - Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome, Keihls, Philosophy, Ren....everything. Every product I have tried has not moisturised me adequately (either not moisturing enough or an oil slick) or else I get a very red and stingy face after applying. I bought Nivea Soft for my body, then tried it on my face. OMG it is fantastic. My face does not get red after applying, it moisturises intensely without creating an oil slick, it is FANTASTIC under foundation (it's a great base) and I cannot believe you can get this from such a cheap product. I use it heavily at night before bed (wake up with lovely smooth skin) and then lightly in the morning before foundation. It works both as a day and night cream. So, seriously - forget high end, expensive creams making claims that you can look 10 years younger with their flashy ingredients. Try this...it's FAB !!!!
