BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector for Combination to Oily Skin
rated 4 of 5
SugarCelebi 2/26/2013 4:06:00 PM

This is the second American drugstore BB I've tried, and I'm far happier with this one than my previous Maybelline Dream Fresh. It actually seems like more than a glorified tinted moisturizer. The coverage is decent and natural looking, and it actually does seem to help with shine and oil, unlike other BBs I've tried. I have straight bangs, and usually if I go without powder to soak up the oil, they get a bit greasy by the end of the day. It does moisturize as well, and a little goes a long way, so I'm happy. I do have a couple issues though; it's VERY runny, so you have to be careful getting it out of the tube or it just drools out and gums up the nozzle. Also, I do wish there was more shades. Even one more in between the two would be fine. The light/medium is too light, and the medium/dark is too dark. I ended up with the light/medium, and since it blends it is workable, but I'll definitely need the darker come summertime.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Kate Moss 04
rated 4 of 5
SugarCelebi 2/15/2013 2:56:00 PM

After searching forever for a deep purple lipstick (I was initially going to get Revlon's Va Va Violet, but after reading negative reviews about the pigmentation, I decided against it), I picked this guy up. I honestly don't mind the waxyness, I feel like that was necessary for the good pigmentation this offers. It lasts a long time, and I don't find it particularly drying, I just put some balm underneath. The reason I knocked a lippie off was because it smells strange to me. It's like it was supposed to be fruity, but it smells kind of like grape cough syrup or something. It just makes me feel a bit sick until the smell wears off. Other than that though, good stuff!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Stain Balm - Crush
rated 5 of 5
SugarCelebi 2/15/2013 2:47:00 PM

I bought this on a whim one day, and boy am I glad I did! This has probably been my most worn lip product all fall and winter. I did pick it up thinking it was more of a deep wine colour, but it is in fact quite bright. I am okay with this though, just keep that in mind if you're looking to purchase this. I love the balmy-but-not-too-balmy texture, and the wear is amazing. I actually prefer it after the initial application shine has worn off, as I personally like matte lips better than shiny. It has a very slight minty scent that goes away quickly. It stays through eating and drinking. In fact, I still have traces of it the next morning after sleeping! A brilliant invention, solving the problem of most lipstains being drying. Will definitely be purchasing more colours.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
rated 3 of 5
SugarCelebi 2/15/2013 2:40:00 PM

This stuff is just okay. I previously had the Missha M Vita BB Cream, but since the Western world has adopted BB creams into their lives, I decided to try a more accessible brand. Compared to my Missha, it has very little coverage, and is much runnier. Really, I think it's a bit of a glorified tinted moisturizer, as I've heard a lot of American BB's are. It does moisturize, which is nice for the winter when my skin is drier, but as I said, it doesn't cover much, and it doesn't do anything in the ways of oil control. I should also note that it somehow exploded in my bag. The cap came off and now the nozzle is all dirty. The packaging seems kind of cheap to me, so that's probably it. All in all, I will finish my tube, because it doesn't suck completely. For the winter, when I don't need as much oil control, it will do fine. But, after it's gone, I will continue my search for a new BB elsewhere.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
SugarCelebi 2/12/2013 10:19:00 PM

It took me a while to finally try this, but I'm SO glad I did! I have so many issues with mascara, having stubbornly straight Asian lashes and oily eyes (AKA smudge city). The thing I find most amazing is that this mascara HOLDS CURL. All day long. I've never experienced that before. It isn't the most lengthening mascara I've used, but as it is meant for volume this isn't a big deal. Also, what use are long lashes when they stick straight out? I only ever use one coat of mascara, and that one coat volumizes, lengthens somewhat, and holds the curl for my lashes. It does wind up smudging by the end of the day, but I haven't yet found a mascara that doesn't, so I won't hold that against it too much. All in all, I love this stuff. Will definitely repurchase.

Polishes -Revlon - Pink Chiffon
rated 4 of 5
SugarCelebi 8/18/2012 12:37:00 AM

I purchased this to fill the "light pink" hole in my collection. Definitely fits that requirement! I actually quite like the polish...while it does take about 3 coats to become opaque and even, this happens quite often with light polishes and for such a low price how could I resist? The formula is otherwise workable, thin and flows easily onto the nail, and I haven't had any bubbling thus far, which I do find to be an issue with a lot of Revlon polishes. So all in all, despite its streakiness, I'm happy with my purchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Mousse Mascara - Water Resistant
rated 4 of 5
SugarCelebi 8/13/2012 11:18:00 AM

This mascara is surprisingly awesome! It looks natural but also lengthens and plumps with just one coat. The brush is nice, I do really like silicone brushes. I only have one slightly bad thing to say about it, and that is that it does smudge SLIGHTLY, but only after a long, sweaty, greasy day. Also, I don't find it to be particularly water resistant, but maybe that's just me. I need a new tube of this.

Mascara -Revlon - Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara
rated 2 of 5
SugarCelebi 8/13/2012 11:15:00 AM

Honestly, this mascara sucks. I have the waterproof version, and mark my words, this stuff isn't ANYTHING proof. I've used this twice, and one occasion, I did my makeup and then literally sat and did nothing for 2 hours, and it smudged so much! Like raccoon eyes! Granted, a lot of stuff smudges on me, but not after 2 hours of nothingness. In addition, it doesn't really do anything for my lashes. Darkens them a bit, but nothing else. However, I do actually like the shape of the brush. The tapered end allows for good coverage. I'm pretty confused, as I had the original Grow Luscious (non-waterproof) and I remember loving it. But this stuff is going in the trash.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
SugarCelebi 6/27/2012 11:07:00 AM

After becoming a bit annoyed with my MAC Liquidlast due to its tendency to become very thick after a while, I decided to try something different. This liner is decent; however, I am pining for my Liquidlast. I have horribly greasy eyelids, and absolutely everything smudges and creases on me. This liner holds up, so long as I don't touch it. However, it seems to become sticky after a bit of wearing it, like it feels like I have tacky glue on my lids or something. It washes off pretty easily, which is the only thing it has over the Liquidlast, but really, I'd take improved wear over easy removal any day. The applicator also took some getting used to. Like Liquidlast, it is a brush, but I find it far too stiff for my likings. It makes drawing a nice flick a bit difficult. The slightly runny formula is also annoying with such an applicator. In summary, I'll finish this tube, but after that, I'm going back to my Liquidlast.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
rated 5 of 5
SugarCelebi 3/12/2012 2:11:00 AM

This stuff is the absolute answer to my prayers. After trying this at a MAC counter, I was hooked; 5 hours later, my face was still oil free! I have combination skin and a naturally shiny face, meaning that even when my face is freshly washed, it's still shiny. I guess my skin is just really light-reflective or something. Anyways, I waited to ask for this as a birthday present because of the steep price and I am so pleased. Works just as well as I remembered. It makes my face flawless over my BB cream. What I especially like is that it doesn't gather into pores and wrinkles like many other powders do, and it doesn't get orangey or anything. I will repurchase until the end of time. HG item!!!

Lips -The Body Shop - Lip & Cheek Stain
rated 5 of 5
SugarCelebi 1/4/2012 3:40:00 AM

I originally bought this to use as a lip stain, but I never use it for that any more. Somehow it ends up looking patchy. But as a cheek stain, LOVE IT! It blends wonderfully and gives a perfect natural rosy glow. Doesn't dry out or irritate my skin either. I'm on my second tube and will definitely buy more.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup
rated 3 of 5
SugarCelebi 1/4/2012 3:35:00 AM

I'm actually quite surprised by the negative comments for this! I bought it on a whim out of a desire for translucent powder. I don't wear actual foundation because I feel cakey and greasy, so I usually just cover my under-eye circles and any pimples, powder up, and call it a day. This definitely serves my purposes. I've used this for a few weeks now, and I really don't see these sparkles that are supposedly in it. I like the light coverage and the cooling feeling. I do need to reapply later, but I'm used to that. However, the brush it comes with kind of sucks except for specific placement, which I do to set my under-eye concealer. I just use a regular powder brush and all is well. EDIT: An issue I have encountered, however, is that it can settle into my pores and look cakey sometimes. Ew!

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Anti dark circle roller
rated 4 of 5
SugarCelebi 1/4/2012 3:25:00 AM

I bought this just because it was the best reviewed under-eye product that seemed to fit my purposes, and I was looking for an alternative to my mediocre Revlon ColourStay Under Eye Concealer. And I must say, I like it a lot better. Like other reviewers have said, I haven't noticed any improvement of my awful, terrible under-eye circles, and I've been using this for a few weeks now. However, the cooling gel-like stuff is much better than the Revlon. It lasts longer, looks much more natural, and doesn't crease as much. I knocked off one lippie because it does end up creasing by the end of the day, even with precisely placed powder, though pretty much everything creases on me. I found this colour in Medium and it was a nice bright shade for me.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
rated 5 of 5
SugarCelebi 12/13/2011 3:00:00 PM

Oh, wow. The answer to my lip product prayers! As an 18-year-old, I don't want lip colour that's too bold. In addition, I have very full lips already so bright colours look rather overwhelming for everyday wear, and gloss just looks messy. This is the perfect marriage of the two. Sheer, slightly glossy (but not as much as an actual gloss) colour, plus it's nice and moisturizing! I have these in Peach Parfait (lovely neutral peach) and Berry Smoothie (everyday neutral pink), and I'm definitely going to pick up a few more colours. Love, love, love!!! EDIT: I have also acquired Cherry Tart (a nice cool, sheer red), and Lollipop (a perfect bright fuchsia, but not too bright). I continue to be impressed.

Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer
rated 3 of 5
SugarCelebi 12/13/2011 6:44:00 AM

I have the worst under-eye circles imaginable, as in I look like a panda 24/7. At 18, I find this very upsetting. I'm not any more sleep deprived than my peers yet this happens. I have very mixed feelings about this stuff. I've gone through a couple tubes now, only because I haven't found anything better. PROS: - It does cover, and can be built up as opaque as needed - Blends pretty easy - Doesn't irritate CONS: - It creases! Even when I very very precisely place powder (I've tried pressed and loose) over it, it still settles into my (barely existent) lines. - As others have said, the applicator is annoying and can blob up on you I suppose my main issue is that it creases...I shouldn't have the under eye area of a 40-year-old at this point in my life. I think I'm going to try something new once my current tube runs out.
