Polishes -Essie - Fishnet Stockings
Suester 11/27/2012 4:00:00 AM
Would I buy this again - hell yes! I have a pretty big nail polish collection and there aren't many polishes that I have used that I have thought if this runs out, I must get it again, as I have lots of similar colours. Often I say yeah I would buy this again cos I really like it, but this one, I already want to get a back up. This polish... PERFECT colour + PERFECT formula = a winning combination of awesomeness! This stunning deep red creme has won my heart, along with its flawless application. I can get away with one coat, which is SO fantastic. It could possibly look better with two coats, as in really bright light if you look carefully, there are a few little spots that look like they could be gone over, but anything that looks good in one coat is a total winner for me. I got a little bit of tip wear after a couple of days, but that is not unusual for me and reds/dark colours as I am not careful with my nails and I type a lot, so I am cool with that.

Polishes -OPI - Just Spotted the Lizard
Suester 9/20/2012 5:06:00 AM
I decided to buy this after trying on Chanel Peridot in duty free and loving it... Couldn't justify the Chanel prices - almost $40AUD, so I thought this was a good compromise... I love the colour in the bottle and I loved this the day I put it on, but I just didn't feel the love for long after that and by the third day I was busting to take it off... Don't know why, cos it is a pretty colour, maybe it just didn't suit me or maybe it is more of a party colour. It is fairly brush-strokey and I didn't find it wore as well on the surface as other colours, it kind of went a bit dull, so I think would need an top-coat every day to keep it super pretty and shiny. Formula was great, easy to apply and I love the OPI brush.

Polishes -Essie - Lady Like
Suester 9/20/2012 5:02:00 AM
Given that I am a huge fan of OPI's Tickle My Francy, I knew I would probably like this pretty nude, as the colours are similar. I probably prefer the OPI ever so slightly, tho I do really like Lady Like also. I have heard some people say they can see lavender in it, for me it was more pinky/beige tones, depending on the light, much more pink in sunlight etc. I have fairly pale skin. Formula wise, it is pretty awesome, opaque at two coats, easy easy application and good wear, I am up to 4 days now with only very minor tipwear, and that is normal for me as I use a keyboard a lot for work - no chips at all.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Skin Smoothing Cream
Suester 9/20/2012 4:57:00 AM
I generally like this cream, it feels nice on my skin, very moisturising, but not too heavy, however it has a bit of a funky smell which totally puts me off it and I can't wait to use it all up, so I don't need to use a cream with such a weird smell anymore.. If it wasn't for the smell I might buy again.

This polish rocks! I love it so much :) Perfect dark grey/taupe colour with a hint of purple and it just looks so awesome! Funnily I have swatched it on one nail a few times and decided against it, but when I did a full mani, I was wowed with how good it was and thrilled to get compliments on my nails. Formula is pretty good, I'm not totally skilled at the art of DIY manicure but this went on pretty much perfectly, two easy coats and it lasted perfectly for 5 days with no chipping. I do use the computer a lot, so it was showing a bit of tipwear by then, but nothing that had me worried. Very happy, will use this colour again and again!

Polishes -Zoya - Maya
Suester 8/29/2012 6:02:00 AM
I'm really loving this polish, especially heading into summer :) It is a beautiful bright, almost kinda neon bright, but not quite. It is a pinky/coral colour, very summery and very pretty. The formula was really nice, I found it a little opaque at 2 coats, so I went for three, which I preferred. It is always a gamble for me doing 3 coats at night before bed, as often I will get sheet marks in the morning because all the layers haven't dried properly, but this was great. (I used opi fast dry top coat as well). It did have a bit of a funky smell, which was a bit strange, but I haven't used many zoya polishes before, so perhaps it is just the zoya smell? I do really love it though, I can see myself wearing it lots and it really flatters my pale skin tone and doesn't look weirdly bright against my skin, even though it is quite a bright colour. Day 2 and its wearing well so far too, no chips or tipwear, so I'm happy :) ETA, I wore this for a full week and it had no chips and only minor tipwear when I took it off, thrilled with that! I think this will be my fav colour this summer.

Polishes -OPI - I'm Not Really A Waitress
Suester 8/11/2012 5:05:00 AM
Its no wonder this colour has so many reviews, its just awesome! I have used it on my fingers a few times and many times on my toes, once it was on for 4 weeks, because it hadn't chipped and just kept looking so pretty. I only took it off because I thought that was a crazy amount of time to leave it on... It is such a beautiful colour, a nice deep but not too dark red, a perfect amount of shimmer that makes your nails glow when it is on and I will use it all the time. It could be used without a top coat, but I prefer to use one to really bring out the shine. One coat would be enough for a quick mani, but two coats brings out the richness of the colour. Only downside is that I currently have it in an OPI mini and I'm not a fan of the mini bottles, due to the brush being so small, but even with it being a mini, it's a pretty awesome application. I love it and would get it again and again! It definately passes my "look at my nails all the time when I am wearing it, cos its so pretty" test. Edited: While I am still in love with this colour, I have knocked a lippy off, as it does seem to chip on me quite a bit more than other opi polishes which is frustrating.

Moisturizers -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Luxe Cream for face
Suester 8/8/2012 5:30:00 AM
I wanted to love this cream, sooooooo wanted to love it, but was SO glad that I purchased a crazily expensive sample from sasa instead of a whole jar! It felt very moisturising as it went on, very thick and lovely, and was absorbed incredibly easily, however every time I have used this, my skin has either felt very tight and hot, or sometimes almost stinging and that is not what I want from super expensive skin cream! It also feels like the soft moisturising feeling doesn't last, it only seems to feel that way for a while, then it feels dry again, compared to other creams that will last all day/night. It also has a really weird smell, so that combined with my skin reacting to it, means I won't be buying again...

Polishes -OPI - Meet Me On The Star Ferry
Suester 8/8/2012 5:25:00 AM
I love this colour! I love how it changes in different lights, sometimes rusty brown, sometimes purple and with such a beautiful shimmer! :) The formula was pretty good, I could have gotten away with 1 coat if I wanted to, but preferred two, I knocked one of my nails on the first coat and couldn't be bothered taking it off to redo it and it almost totally fixed itself on the second coat, it seems to level out really well. Very shiny, could have done without a topcoat, I just like to use topcoat to make it last better... Day 2 without any chips at all yet. loving it! :)

Polishes -OPI - Fly
Suester 7/30/2012 5:48:00 AM
Positives first: the formula on this product is fantastic! It went on like a dream, was shiny and creamy and lovely. I had a big day of housework the day after I put it on and I don't wear gloves or look after my hands at all and despite scrubbing kitchen, bathroom, cooking, dishes etc etc, I only had one tiny chip! Normally I would be lucky to have an unscathed nail after a day like that, so I was very impressed :) The not so good: while I really love the colour itself in the bottle, it just doesn't look good on my skintone, makes my hands look a really weird kind of grey/washed out colour. I shall keep it for my toes tho, as it is a perfect summer pedi colour, but I won't rebuy... I shall keep trying to find a nice aqua that suits my skintone better.

Polishes -Essie - Fair Game
Suester 7/30/2012 5:40:00 AM
I adore this colour, honestly, it is one of my favourite nail polish colours. However, I find the formula really hard to work with. This bums me, especially when I adore the colour so much, so I am on the lookout for a dupe - please let me know if there is one! The main problem (and I had the same problem with the other resort minis I have), is that the formular is kind of thick. The brush is pretty small, so it is hard to get enough on there to cover the nail when you brush one side of it against the bottle, but if you have to go back for more for the other half of the nail, you get crazy bad brushstrokes and it looks crappy. However if I soak the brush full of polish to try and do a full nail in one hit, it went on too thick and it make a bit of a mess and I got heaps of bubbling. Gah! I will persevere, as I adore the colour so much and hopefully I can get the hang of it. I would only buy it again if I can't find a close dupe and I can make it work better on my nails. Not sure if this is because it is a mini bottle, or just the formular in general. PS I did add an extra coat of top coat the next day, and it seemed to help a bit, and smoothed out the imperfections and brush-strokeyness a bit.

Eye Makeup Remover -Chanel - Gentle BiPhase Eye Makeup Remover
Suester 7/30/2012 5:32:00 AM
I was recommended to try this product, from a friend who had it recommended to her by a friend. This is the most awesome make up remover. It gets everything off really easily, I don't feel like I need to drag on the sensitive skin around my eyes or anything like that and I don't need to use heaps either, which helps soften the blow of the pricetag. I have also tried lancome bi-facial eye make up remover, but found that left an oily residue, where this doesn't do that at all... I love this and will be making sure I have a back up always in place, as I do buy it duty free, because it is pretty expensive. I would prefer to buy this at full price, than buy a different brand however. This is a total HG product for me :)

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Jojoba Oil
Suester 7/26/2012 7:26:00 AM
I have loved and sworn by jojoba oil for years. For 18 years, it was all I used on my face, no other moisturisers or anything. I am now at the age (38) where I have started to use other moisturising products however, as I just didn't find jojoba was cutting it and I got the odd dry patch etc, so whilst it was my HG product for all this time, and I still love it, I use it in different ways now. I now use it as a body oil, putting a little on after my shower, while my skin is still wet. It soaks in amazingly well and I am left with super soft and moisturised skin. I also add a few drops of different essential oils as well, so it smells lovely. It is a little expensive to do that if you buy in smaller bottles, but I get a 1 litre bottle from an aromatherapy supplies company and decant it in to smaller bottles, so doing that, I think its really cheap (especially compared to say Clarins Tonic Oil - which is divine, but essentially a similar thing, but only 100mls, where I get 1 litre of jojoba for a similar price). I may go back to using it on my face again in summer, my skin doesn't get on so well with creams when it is hotter and humid, so I shall see. But generally, I love it, prefer it over all other oils.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Hydra Quench Cream
Suester 7/23/2012 10:04:00 AM
I am feeling a lot of love for Clarins products at the moment, after trying out a number of different products over the last few months. I currently have 10 different face moisturiser testers on the go, from clarins, lancome, chanel, estee lauder, dermalogica and payot, trying to work out what I like best for my skin. I have found myself constantly wanting to go back to this, even when trying out something new, as it simply feels the nicest out of all of them, even above my second favourite, Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme, which I so want to love more than this, but this cream just does the job and does it well. It soaks in to my skin beautifully, doesn't leave any sticky residue and my skin feels amazing afterwards. The only negative is that I am not really a big fan of the packaging (jar), so I am glad for the Clarins promotions that allow me to buy great value packs (or GWP's) that contain the smaller and much easier to use tubes (although I am sure I will quickly get overloaded with cleansers that seem to always come with the packs ha ha). So far this is a love product and I think will be the winner out of my face moisturiser trial challenge.

Polishes -Essie - Your Hut or Mine
Suester 7/23/2012 9:54:00 AM
I really really love this colour, it is a vintage rose, deep dusty pink colour, with a really pretty shimmer, I loved looking at it while it was on my nails. However, I didn't find the formular that great, it was pretty thick and I didn't get a nice smooth result, quite a bit of bubbling and it didn't dry that well because of the thickness (base coat, 2 coats colour, top coat)... I am using a mini bottle (got the resort collection mini's), not sure if that makes a difference or if it is just this colour. So, gorgeous colour, but didn't look so great on me, because I had difficulty applying it nicely.
