This is the perfect "my lips but better" lipstick for me! It is the perfect texture and most beautiful color for my skintone. I highly recommend this lipstick to anyone with pink-y toned lips looking for a an everyday natural color.

Lip Treatments -LUSH - Ultrabalm

This is my holy grail lip product! Yes this stuff is truly amazing for chapped lips and as a prep for lipstick. I use this every night and when I wake up in the morning my lips feel baby soft. Especially if I use Fresh Sugar Lip Polish before I use it. I don't really use this product for much else except my lips, but it has helped me when I was in a pinch and needed some cuticle moisture. The smell of the product is almost woody, but it doesn't linger. There is a slight grainy texture in addition to the slippery, emollient feel which I'm willing to overlook because of the benefits. I think tub will last me a long time since I really only use it for my lips. I really like the fact that it's composed of natural ingredients and I can't complain about the packaging. I'd suggest taking advantage of the fact that Lush offers samples and pick some of this up!

Treatments -Ion - Repair Solutions Hair Reconstructor
rated 3 of 5

After one use of this product, I am less than impressed. If anything my hair feels worse than it did before I used this. After reading reviews I was expecting a miracle, but this product did not measure up. Although I've only used it once, which may skew my ability to review, I think that it's safe to say that I'll only use up the sample. It was a waste of time in my shower and did not make my hair feel any stronger or softer. My split ends felt worse when my hair dried, and I realize that nothing will help them except trimming them. Maybe with continued use I'd like this product more, but it really isn't that great for me. It was kind of expensive where I live, but luckily I opted to buy the sample size. I shampooed my hair, towel dried it, left this product in for ten minutes, rinsed, and used my conditioner. The product smelled nice and felt silky when I initially applied it. I only used about one third of the product in the sample seeing as my hair isn't that long. Overall I don't think this product is worth all the hype surrounding it. I'll try to use it again and edit my review if I change my feelings about it, but I doubt I will.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Stephaniejeann 12/24/2012 1:08:00 AM

To start with, I commend Make Up Forever for the wonderful packaging on this product. I can get the perfect amount of product every time I use it. I found a shade that is almost an exact match to my skin (#25), without much hassle like I've experienced with other foundations. As for mattifying my skin, it does stay matte for about four hours and then my face is oily again. I don't mind though because I've experienced this with every foundation I've tried. It doesn't oxidize on me, which is something I've also had trouble with when I used other foundations. Maybe it would stay matte longer if I set it with some powder, but usually I'm in such a hurry that I can't be bothered. This foundation blends very nicely (I use Sephora's Pro Flawless Airbrush #56), and I find the coverage to be medium to full. I personally don't find that the coverage is easily buildable for me at least, it looks very cakey when I try to build it up. I gave this product four stars because it works for me, but it still has some disadvantages. I can deal with some oil as long as the foundation matches my skin nicely and blends beautifully, but depending on how oily your skin is, it may not work at all for you.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

Ugh, I wanted to love this product I really did. It just doesn't show up on my skin at all and all the glitter just falls out all over me by the end of the day. It doesn't work for me, even though I really liked the color.

Skincare - Body -LUSH - Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar
rated 3 of 5

I really just enjoy the scent of this massage bar, but it wasn't as strong as I'd hoped it would be. I didn't feel much of cooling when I applied it. I can see where some people wouldn't like the scent, it's a very strong clove scent (which I love) and a little bit of peppermint. It produces a nice oil to massage with. It was a decent product, but I don't love it.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 3 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 9:30:00 PM

Disclaimer: I have extremely oily lids, lids that will cause eye shadow to crease within just a few short hours. Lids that will show visible oil on them even when I wear no product at all on my eyes within hours. While this product did help the issue, it didn't help enough. With this product my eye shadow would be pretty well creased, but most of the eye shadow would still be on my eyes. Now, if I didn't use this product, my eyelids ate the eye shadow and it would just be gone. This product helped to extend time without creasing by three or four hours, but not long enough to get me through the day. I could guess that the longest it would last without creasing 6 or 7 hours, which generally isn't a whole day for me. While definitely a step up from the drug store primer or no primer I had used before I learned its importance, I don't think it performed to its supposed standards on my lids. I could recommend this to someone who had normally oily lids because mine are not normally oily. I gave this product as high of a rating as I did because it helped my eye shadow glide on smoothly and did increase the vibrancy of my shadows. The feel of the product is velvety and feels nice to put on my lids. My eye shadow definitely looks more true to the color in the pan, and the primer helps to cover some of the veins on my eye lids which is really great. And the new packaging definitely affected the positives of my review. Overall, I think it's a pretty nice primer for people with normal lids, but if you have oily lids like me then you're probably better off searching for something else to help your eye shadow stay on.

Mascara -Tarte - Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara
rated 5 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 4:05:00 AM

I love, love, love this mascara! Coming from a girl who likes to wear little to no makeup (very strange that I joined MUA right?), this mascara is glorious. I have straight, shortish medium length, decently dark lashes and this mascara makes them look gorgeous. Absolutely no clumps whatsoever, and while the mascara is a little bit natural looking as far as mascaras go, it's totally daytime appropriate and compliments the look I go for daily. It holds the curl that I get when I curl my lashes (I never skip curling them so I can't comment on the curl without an eyelash curler), and keeps the curl all day long. It has flaked on me before, but that is totally forgiven since I'm guilty of long days, oily eyelids, frequent tears and emotional outbursts (can't help it, I'm a crier), and occasionally touching/rubbing my eyes (oops). It does a decent job holding its own through tears, but smudges some since it's not waterproof. It's natural which I love, and have noticed a definite improvement in the length and strength of my lashes since switching from chemical-laden mascaras of my past. I love the brush on this mascara, it's the perfect size and separates amazingly. I have never found a mascara that I love this much.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA Natural Oil - Healing Oil Treatment
rated 5 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 1:09:00 AM

While I have to be extremely careful with the amount of product I have to use, this product is really wonderful. It smells lovely first of all, and is very hydrating. If I use too much of this oil or this oil and another product, my hair becomes disgustingly oily and hard to manage without washing it. This oil makes my hair feel soft after it air dries or I blow it dry. It's a great after washing hair product, but I don't know if I'd use it on dry hair. My hair is pretty thick, but it does not fare well on my hair dry and it just looks greasy. I will probably continue to use this product for a long time seeing as it keeps my hair nice and soft.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL Deep Repair Mask
rated 4 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 1:02:00 AM

This product was very hyped up on Youtube, and made me very curious to try it. The first time I used it, I was amazed. My hair was silky smooth and at this time my hair was about down to the middle of my back and extremely damaged. The product smells pretty good, and it comes with a considerable amount of product for how much you actually have to use. I had my hair chopped off to my chin, and the product was still suitable for my hair. The magic that I had experienced my first use is gone, but it's still nice to use. I use it about once a week or once every two weeks depending on how often I wash my hair. It makes my hair feel soft and easy to manage, but it's not a holy grail item for me. It made my especially damaged hair feel nicer, but it doesn't do much for my new healthy short hair besides make it feel a bit softer. I really like the fact that this product uses fairly natural ingredients versus some other deep conditioners I've tried. It's pretty gentle, and I would recommend to anyone with damaged, dry hair.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Mia
rated 4 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 12:47:00 AM

I was coming to this product with high expectations especially for my acne-prone, combination skin especially after all the positive reviews I had seen. Were my expectations met? Not necessarily, but I'm satisfied enough with the product that I won't complain about that. I initially used this product and was absolutely delighted with the results during the first couple of weeks. My acne subsided slightly, and the discolorations and scars faded considerably, seemingly overnight. I was extremely happy with the results that this product gave me with my acne scars and pigmentation issues. The more I used the Clarisonic Mia, the less and less it affected my scars and discoloration. It could be due to the fact that I use it a lot less than I did when I first bought it, but I used it too much during the first couple weeks. I suffered from flaky skin because of my overuse, but eventually I realized that I needed to lay off the Clarisonic or else my skin would not be happy. My acne really isn't too terrible to begin with, but it had no effect on my acne or the blackheads on my nose and chin. I was hoping that it would help my blackheads, but no such luck.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 2 of 5
Stephaniejeann 4/10/2012 12:38:00 AM

While I really wanted to love this product especially for the price, I just couldn't even after a couple months. The smell really bothered me at first, but I kind of got used to it the more I used it. It didn't break me out luckily, but it didn't do much for hydrating my skin either. I was still left with patchy dry spots on my chin and cheeks. The packaging was alright, the usual for a moisturizer, but I did notice that the material on the inside of the lid absorbed a considerable amount of product. It could have just been because I had bought the edition that donated to breast cancer research, but I lost some product. It was pretty standard, but it didn't do a horrible job. It could have been a lot better, but I haven't had much luck with any other Philosophy skincare.
