Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Urban Outfitters

SHADE: EARLY MORNING I bought this with my cousin at Urban Outfitters. It's a pretty gold glitter with some holographic glitter in there too, and I really like it over a polish or by itself. However, as with all glitter polishes, it's extremely hard to get off. Very chunky glitter. I do love the square, funky looking bottle, though. I think I got this for $3.99, or something?? Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Too Cool
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 11:09:00 AM

I bought this and Bad to the Bronze because of all the hype surrounding these products. I purchased the bronze because I thought it would be a wearable neutral, and this because I wanted to give it a shot as an eyeshadow base. However, I find Too Cool to be a tad too frosty to sometimes work as a an eyeshadow base, but I do like it alone on the lids. Yesterday I put a bit on with no primer and played in a volleyball tournament for three hours, and it was still on, brightening my eyes! I am planning to buy some more colors of the Color Tattoos, but I found Too Cool to be not quite up to par with Bad to the Bronze. SparklyBeauty

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze / on and on bronze
rated 5 of 5

I love this! I had to pick these up after hearing all the hype (this one and Too Cool.) Bad to the Bronze is so smooth and creamy, and is a gorgeous color that stays on your lids with or without an eye primer. I have yet to try it as an eyeliner, but will be doing so soon. I know many people have compared these to the MAC Paint Pots, which I haven't tried, but I know I'll be picking up a couple more of these (I have the gold in mind!) These are great for the price, and the packaging seems to be good enough that they won't dry out. SparklyBeauty

Eye Shadow -Almay - Almay Intense i Color for Hazel
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 10:52:00 AM

I have this trio in the new packaging (formed to look like an eyelid, so you can see exactly where you should place shadow.) I picked up this trio not realizing that there were specific palettes for different eye colors (silly me,) so my eyes are blue and I have this one, because I love the colors and they stood out to me. I am really a pretty big fan of this trio; over a nice primer it'll stay all day and the colors are gorgeous. The packaging can get messy, though, and sometimes the colors aren't quite as smooth and creamy as you'd want them to be. SparklyBeauty

Polishes -Orly - Flagstone Rush
rated 5 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 10:47:00 AM

I bought this polish at Sally's while looking for a fall color, and I love it! It looks really great on my fair skin tone and is a beautiful coppery bronze. When I go outside, it shocks me how similar my nails look to the trees! ;) Very minimal chipping from this polish, and with a good two coats and a nice top coat it should be fine. The rubber grip top is amazing and as a small touch, is really helpful. The polish formula is amazing and I love the brush. Love! I also recently bought two Essie polishes (Plumberry and Pilates Hottie) for $8, and for $6.99ish I like Orly a ton better! The Essies chipped within a day, and so far I am raving over this polish. Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 10:43:00 AM

I bought this powder after hitting pan on my Neutrogena powder foundation because I wanted to try something new- holy cow, is this powder extremely sheer and low coverage! If you're looking for something to cancel out redness, etc, this powder's not your best bet. This one almost reminds me of a setting powder, which isn't great for me because I tend to wear powder as my foundation. (Was that where I messed up- I should have gotten one that actually says "powder foundation"?) I will keep this powder to use to set my liquid foundation on the days I actually wear it. Polishes -Essie - Plumberry
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 10:36:00 AM

I bought Essie's Plumberry because I really wanted to buy an Essie polish. I thought it was a gorgeous color (and it is.) However, shortly (I'm talking 1 day) after application, it began to chip. It's not just this polish, either, as I also bought Pilates Hottie and it chips as well! I am very dissapointed, and for $8, I would rather buy an OPI polish. (If you want an OPI equivalent to this polish, try Koala Bear-y!) SparklyBeauty

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 4 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/12/2012 10:31:00 AM

I really like this product! I purchased the UDPP for the first time at Sephora for $20. Before purchasing this primer, I owned the ELF Primer and the Sephora Perfecting Eye Primer. I heard they had changed the packaging into this tube, which I like, and the formula as well. There is 11 ml of product in the tube, which really is a good amount that will last me a while. I found it interesting how different the formula is from the other primers I own- it is much more of a paste. This primer holds my shadow all day (it really does!), but when I swatched some shadows on my arm using the three primers I have, there really wasn't much difference between how well the shadows showed up. Still, this primer is a good buy and I'm glad I picked it up and believed all the hype! SparklyBeauty

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie
rated 5 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/11/2012 3:51:00 PM

I love Berry Smoothie! This was my first Revlon Lip Butter (I then bought Creme Brulee, Strawberry Shortcake and Cotton Candy) and it is still my favorite. It is a gorgeous berry color that is extremely highly pigmented and moisturizing on my lips. Strawberry Shortcake is one of my four Revlon Lip Butters (I originally bought "Berry Smoothie," which I love, and went back and bought three more.) I really love the texture of these butters compared to a regular lipstick because they are so moisturizing! All of the colors offered seem to be very wearable. PROS: 1. I love the packaging of these butters! They are absolutely adorable, with a removable cap that has the Colorstay quilt pattern on the front and back and changes color according to the product. The lipstick twists out. 2. The product stays on for a pretty good amount of time (I got a good 45 minutes the last time I attempted to keep track, with minimal eating and drinking.) 3. Very well pigmented, GORGEOUS color! CONS: 1. There isn't much in the tube. (This might last you, depending on how often you wear it, anywhere from 3-7 weeks.) 2. After taking the cap off, as you can see in some of the pictures, the butter twists out of a silver tube. After application, the area right under the top of the tube gets dirty and shows excess product. For $6.99, I am extremely likely to buy this product again. There are some that seem to be pretty similar to this color, so I might pick one of those up along with it. Berry Smoothie is great! SparklyBeauty

Lips -Revlon - Color Burst lip butter - Cotton Candy
rated 2 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/11/2012 3:46:00 PM

Cotton Candy is one of my four Revlon Lip Butters (I originally bought "Berry Smoothie," which I love, and went back and bought three more.) I really love the texture of these butters compared to a regular lipstick because they are so moisturizing! Very well pigmented! CONS: 1. This color is very much a "fake pink"- almost like a Barbie pink-y shade but with more of a slight purple undertone. Just doesn't do it for me. 2. There isn't much in the tube. (This might last you, depending on how often you wear it, anywhere from 3-7 weeks.) 3. After taking the cap off, as you can see in some of the pictures, the butter twists out of a silver tube. After application, the area right under the top of the tube gets dirty and shows excess product. Overall, for $6.99, I would not go back and buy this color again. However, I am very likely to buy Berry Smoothie again, so it's really just up to your color preference. Hope this helps! SparklyBeauty

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
rated 3 of 5

Creme Brulee is one of my four Revlon Lip Butters (I originally bought "Berry Smoothie," which I love, and went back and bought three more.) I really love the texture of these butters compared to a regular lipstick because they are so moisturizing! All of the colors offered seem to be very wearable. PROS: 1. Very well pigmented! CONS: 1. I got this color because I really was interested in the "nude lip" look. This color really does work well for that, but for some reason, it's just not my favorite. It's not 100% opaque; it does give your lips a nude shine but you can still see some of the color of your lips through it. 2. There isn't much in the tube. (This might last you, depending on how often you wear it, anywhere from 3-7 weeks.) 3. After taking the cap off, as you can see in some of the pictures, the butter twists out of a silver tube. Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - 080 Strawberry Shortcake
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 10/11/2012 3:38:00 PM

Strawberry Shortcake is one of my four Revlon Lip Butters (I originally bought "Berry Smoothie," which I love, and went back and bought three more.) I really love the texture of these butters compared to a regular lipstick because they are so moisturizing! All of the colors offered seem to be very wearable. PROS: 1. Very well pigmented! CONS: 1. For some reason, this color really just doesn't do it for me. It's okay, but I think it would look much better on someone for whom light, baby pinks work. I tend to look better in darker colors but wanted to give this one a shot. 2. There isn't much in the tube. (This might last you, depending on how often you wear it, anywhere from 3-7 weeks.) 3. After taking the cap off, as you can see in some of the pictures, the butter twists out of a silver tube. Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
rated 3 of 5
SparklyBeauty 4/22/2012 7:23:00 PM

I bought this mascara because my Covergirl Lash Blast Volume just really wasn't making my lashes as dark as I wanted them to be and I had heard good things about this brand. I am not a big fan of the spoon brush; I feel like it constantly goes on in clumps and it's hard to get your lower lashes without getting product on your skin. It's also hard to get your inner lashes with the brush. It also ends up with a lot of product hanging off the end of the brush when you remove it from the tube. The product seems to be okay, but I always notice in the morning, even though I've removed the product the night before, I have small black flakes under my eyes from the mascara. I won't be buying this again. SparklyBeauty

Polishes -OPI - Koala Bear-y
rated 5 of 5
SparklyBeauty 4/22/2012 7:16:00 PM

I bought this polish at a salon near my house and I really like it! It was fairly expensive at $8.50, which is more than I usually spend on nail polish, but because it is OPI I knew it would be great. The polish is great quality (even though it does chip, but it defenitely took longer to than if I had used cheap polish) and really only takes one coat to be totally opaque! I used a white nail sticker on both thumbs and it looked amazing. The color is very true from the bottle to your fingernails, and I know the bottle is very strong because I dropped another OPI bottle from my cabinet to my stone floor and it was fine, which was impressive! My only complaint-and this is really minimal- is that it sometimes looked as though it could be mistaken for a red on my nails. I really love this color though as a great, quality hot pink! Eyes -E.L.F. - 32 shadow palette
rated 2 of 5
SparklyBeauty 4/22/2012 7:09:00 PM

I bought the warm 32 palette from E.L.F. towards the beginning of my obsession with makeup (:D). I had seen palettes before and wanted one badly, since I only had a small cheap one with 12 shadows I had gotten from Walgreens for $.99. Since this one wasn't expensive at all (it was $5) and I had decided when I started wearing eyeshadow they weren't going to be hugely bold and most were going to be neutral, I went for it. At the time, since I didn't know how to test makeup to see if it was quality, I was very excited and happy with this palette, which features silvers, very loose gold sparkles, shades of beige and brown and a shimmery and matte black. Now, however, looking back at this it wasn't worth $5 (which, even though most are only $1, is the reaction I have towards many of the E.L.F. products I buy.) This palette is extremely hard to open, nearly impossible without breaking a nail! How am I supposed to get it open? With a screwdriver? The shadows are hardly good quality, very chalky and untrue from the pan to the lid. I was very dissapointed when I tried to use both the blacks; they hardly showed up even when wet. The gold sparkle shade isn't shadow; it's loose sparkles that ended up all over my cheeks and was, as I nicknamed it, Fallout City!! I never use this palette anymore, and it is all the way on the bottom of my eye shadow palette collection. SparklyBeauty (Feel free to send me a message!)
