Treatments -TRESemme - Split Remedy Leave-In Conditioning Spray
SouperGirl 2/6/2013 3:08:00 AM
I never review products after the first use but I am madly in love with this conditioner. I'm afr. amer. and went natural this past year. This is the softest my hair has EVER been (eat your heart out Redken All soft). The product is thick, yes. The bottle sprays unevenly- confirmed. But my dry hair drank it up. It absorbed so well I don't feel a residue. After reading prior reviews, I see that this isn't a product for everyone. Different hair type have varying needs. Rather than determining whether this product is good or bad, try to understand if this product is right for you. note that it is not oil based.not greasy at all. It's more of a lotion and makes my hands soft too!

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup, Sensitive Skin
SouperGirl 4/27/2012 5:19:00 PM
It's absolutely impossible to find a match for my skintone, or so I thought. Finding a decent foundation has been such a huge struggle that I'd given up. I was browsing at CVS when something in my peripheral vision stopped me. When I saw 265 Tawny, it clicked. Not only is it a perfect match, CG's clean sensitive formula is just what I wanted. Not too heavy, not greasy at all, just great. If this product continues to work well, I 'll use it forever. Love.

Lip Treatments -Neutrogena - Revitalizing lip balm
SouperGirl 4/24/2011 9:49:00 PM
I really like this product. Sunny berry gives my already pigmented lips a gorgeous tint that even my mother loves. At first I thought it was gritty, but I decided to wait a few days before reviewing. Turns out that was an old layer of skin coming off because I've been rubbing my lips together all day with nothing but smoothness. It cost me aroung $8-9 at cvs, which is more than I'd like to spend on a balm but if I can a) NOT lose this and b)stop buying every $3 organic lip balm I come across it'll even out in the end. To me, it smells like a jolly rancher. I happen to like the packaging. I can see myself repurchasing throughout the various seasons.

Tinted Moisturizer -E.L.F. - Studio Tinted Moisturizer
SPF 20
SouperGirl 4/24/2011 9:40:00 PM
Bought this in almond the other day and LOVED it. My BCP keeps my face clear so all I need is a TM to even things out. I loved the way it felt like nothing on and was a perfect match. All of this is past tense because it's now sitting in my trash pail. After a week of continuous use, I discovered a few tiny whiteheads. Hardly noticeable, I ignored them. A few days later I had a full breakout. I had large painful white heads... there was no question it was the TM. I read the reviews; read about the mineral oil. It's my fault for purchasing. Ladies, save face on this one. Don't buy.

Polishes -OPI - Princesses Rule
SouperGirl 3/23/2010 10:58:00 PM
I love this color so much. I got my nails done at a beauty school so their selection of polishes was limited. I thought I was settling for a boring see-through pink but as she brushed it on my nails, a smile grew. It's adorable! I own it now and plan on wearing it all the time.

Hair Styling Tools -Sedu - Ionic Ceramic Professional Flat Iron (Original)
SouperGirl 2/22/2010 4:18:00 PM
I'm so disappointed. After seeing all the before and after photos online I was sure the sedu would be able to straighten my 3c afro. I saw a girl with hair just as curly as mine come out with glossy relaxed looking hair but my results look nothing like hers. My hair is so frizzy after flat ironing, there's no point in doing it. I could understand if my hair was super course, but it's not. It's ultra-fine and very dense. I can't go out of the house with this kind of frizz. I thought I just needed to practice or find the right set of conditioners/heat protectants/etc. but no. I'm killing my hair trying to get it right. I'd have given it a higher rating had it been cheaper but I was better off using my conair. It's just not for everyone.

Styling Products -Aussie - Tizz No Frizz Gel
SouperGirl 6/15/2009 9:56:00 PM
I've used relaxer on my hair since I was a little girl and I recently chopped it all off to see what my natural hair texture is like. I've got cute curls but left alone they easily transform into a frizzy afro. This gel helps out a lot. After I get out of the shower I use a curl activator and then smooth some tizz no frizz gel through it and I've got well defined waves all day. Other gels make my hair crunchy but this is lightweight and feels soft. I'll definitely repurchase.

Tinted Moisturizer -Jane - Be Pure Aguaceuticals
SouperGirl 2/22/2009 5:46:00 PM
I'm very happy with this TM. It brightens my complexion which has been lacking warmth and richness due to lack of sun this winter. I appreciate the fact that even the deepest shade has spf 30 while most other lines omit it. The coverage is typical of a TM and does a good job evening things out. It's definitely a great option for those looking to cut back on wearing foundation. EDIT: I've learned why others say this turns blotchy and orange. Worn alone it's alright, but if you use a moisturizer or serum first it doesn't adhere properly. I find myself reaching for it very seldom these days.

Lip Treatments -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Lip Balm in Rose Quartz
SouperGirl 2/22/2009 5:34:00 PM
This is the best lip balm ever. It's neither too bright nor too sheer and has excellent color payoff. Rose quartz is like my lips but infinitely better. What's great is that it's actually very moisturizing. It's more than worth the money and I'm going to try more shades asap.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Cherry
SouperGirl 2/17/2009 9:22:00 AM
This is a pretty shade, but as others have mentioned, when applied liberally, the tint becomes overpowering. As my older brother said, "It's kind of bright." I was looking for a balm I could swipe on when my lips feel dry, like my dr.pepper lipsmackers. I'm giving it a 3 because I think this will be beyond perfect for summer months when I'm considerably darker.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - lip laquer
SouperGirl 2/7/2009 10:02:00 PM
I bought this in Lustful (925) and love it. When applied lightly it isn't too overpowering-- just a nice berry tint. When applied over gloss or a balm it turns into the creamy dramatic lippy I've been looking for. I'm so glad to have found a lipstick that can be a focal point in a good way. I agree with the previous review about the gross smell and the inconvenient packaging, but it isn't a huge deal to me. Also, I wouldn't recommend applying it with a heavy hand by itself. Otherwise it can look harsh. It's worth playing with and it's most definitely worth the $2.99 I paid for it at walgreens. Despite the few drawbacks, I'm very pleased with the this "laquer"and will be repurchasing.

Conditioner -Aussie - Opposites Attract Protect + Soften Conditioner
SouperGirl 10/28/2008 1:28:00 PM
I rolled out of bed this morning, looked in the mirror and thought, "Wow. My hair is really shiny" --which is not typical for me. My hair looks healthy, feels ultrasoft, and shines even more than when I use John Frieda's salon glaze. I can't speak much for the strengthening aspect as yet being that I've only used it twice. I haven't noticed much less hair coming off on my comb. Hopefully with continued use my hair will become stronger and I'll give this product a fifth lippie. Until then, I give it an enthusiastic four.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Candy Shop Lip Gloss in Frosting Fanatic
SouperGirl 4/23/2008 4:40:00 PM
This gloss is much less sticky than some of the other flavors from this line. It's also a bit more opaque. When you slide the tin open, the gloss/balm looks kind of yellow but when you massage it into your lips, it gives them a pretty golden sheen. It's a great nude against my pigmented lips. Any type of neutral color generally makes my lips look pasty and unnatural but this does a much better job. It works very well with dramatic eyes, especially. The smell isn't my favorite but the scent fades quickly. All in all, E.L.F. did a great job and I'm excited about trying new products!

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Mascara (Thickening)
SouperGirl 4/20/2008 8:31:00 PM
This mascara makes it look like I have 10,000 individual lashes and I love it. Other brands make each lash look thick and unnatural while Almay's One coat thickening mascara makes me look like I was born with lush lashes. I've only had this for a week or two so I'm praying it won't be the type to dry up immediately. If this mascara withstands the test of time I could definitely see it becoming my HG.

Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
SouperGirl 4/20/2008 8:23:00 PM
ProActiv never worked for me but, strangely enough, acnefree did. The three step system is enough to keep my face relatively clear with an occasional pimple (which is a vast improvement from the red crater-y hell that my face would be otherwise) and when I pair it with some generic 10% BP gel my face clears up completely. I don't use it to remove makeup and don't mind the texture. it took a while for me to figure out how to get it to lather up. I just use it in the shower when my face is already wet. The system isn't perfect, but for me it is a Godsend. I will continue to shell out $20 for clear skin (the product has lasted me forever, too). It's definitely worth a shot.
