Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Peach Body Butter Limited Edition [DISCONTINUED]
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 11:07:00 AM
There are two bad things about this. Firstly its limited edition, this breaks my heart because once I run out I may never be able to get another tub. Second... the chemicals. Unfortunately there are quite a few in this product but I use it anyway because its just so heavenly! It moisturises really well, melts into my skin, sinks in very quickly and I don't find it greasy and slimy. Like all body butters this comes in a tub, not fantastic because its not the most hygienic but really it doesn’t bother me that much. The best thing about this is the smell, it smells like peaches but natural peaches, not like candy. It smells like the real deal and my boyfriend compliments me on how good I smell when I wear this. Hope I helped. Sophie

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Baby Bees Buttermilk Lotion
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:56:00 AM
This is the most incredible body lotion! Its moisturising, all natural and smells incredible. I don't have a baby ( thank the lord! I'm only 17 ) so I just use this on myself. Lets talk about the smell, Its hard to describe its probably milk and honey but its just amazing. I once put this on before bed and my mum came up to me and told me how nice I smell and kept sniffing me. It really is wonderful its sweet but in a really warm milk kind of way. What I like most about it is the smell isn't synthetic smelling or overpowering. Its like a big hug in a bottle! Its all natural as with most if not all Burt’s bees products which is very important to me. Skin is your biggest organ and because of that you need to use a lot of body lotion to cover it so in turn you would be covering your body with a lot of parabens and chemicals which seems much worse than having them in your face cream, well that’s my thought on it anyway. The bottle is great since its hygenic which is important to me. Last but not least its really moisturising, It left my skin silky soft and my skin just drank up all the great and moisturising ingredients. This is by far my favourite skin lotion/smell in the world! Hope I helped. Sophie

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - rosy lips
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:44:00 AM
Ive bought three of these precious tubs! I tend to hate tub lipbalms but this is really easy to use since the tub is big enough you can just give it a kiss and you have product on your lip and blend it in with your finger. This means you can avoid the dreaded lipbalm under fingernail feeling which makes me cringe. Its quite moisturising, not amazing but not bad either but the thing which makes me head of heels for this product is the tint! Its so pretty and really makes my lips look pretty also! I bought a tinted lipbalm in the past but my lips wern't pale enough for it to show up. The colour is a really pretty sheer red which looks like my lips but nicer! I love wearing this because i really don't like wearing much makeup if any but a little colour on my lips really perks up my face ( well thats what my mum said ). I bought my first one and ran out then my second which I thought I lost and my boyfriend bought the third one for me because he knows how much I love these. I really reccomend these, they are as good as they say! Hope I helped. Sophie

Lip Treatments -Chapstick - Strawberry
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:37:00 AM
I bought this after I used up my first tube of my cherry chapstick. I loved it so much I bought another tube of that and a strawberry one aswell. The scent/taste is synethetic, or atleast mostly synthetic but its still quite nice and I tend to hate overly synthetic smells. The main reason I love chapstick is that it moisturises my lips but more importantly protects them from being chapped by the wind and cold. I love chapstick for when I go running on a chilly morning, long winter walks or when I go skiing. I also like using this through out the year. Its just a great and simple product. Hope I helped. Lip Treatments -Chapstick - Cherry
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:32:00 AM
I love chapstick, I live in the north of england where it gets very chilly and windy. I go for a run every other day and I walk into town everyday having to brave the northen winds ontop of all this I also I have dry skin anyway so really chapstick is a life saver. When I went skiing this christmas this was fantastic at keeping my lips protected and soft. The biggest plus about it is that it comes in tube packaging which makes it really easy to put in your pocket and easy to apply. I love it so much I lent it to my boyfriend for his school ski trip this year and ive been missing it dearly! The cherry smell and flavour are nice, they are obviously mostly if not completely synthetic but they don't smell too sweet or sour just a nice cherry scent, like a sweetie and the smell and taste goes almost instantly after you have applied it so really its not a big deal. This really is a staple and the price is great. Cheap and cheerful! Hope I helped. Sophie

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:22:00 AM
I bought this lipbalm because ide heard it was a "cult" product which in my mind means its really good. The first thing I don't like is the packaging but thats my fault for getting the tub not the tube of this. The tub is nice and simple but as with all tubs not just carmex it means you have to apply it to your finger then apply it to your lips. Sometimes this gets underneeth my nail which i find really unpleasant. Its cooling with menthol and it does help the outer layers of the lips become moisturised and I feel there is a layer of moisture on my lips which protects them from the elements for a decent ammount of time which is why I like wearing this for cold winter days and skiing. I'm personally not a fan of the cooling sensation, its not bad its just not for me. I found myself reaching for my chapstick not my carmex when I went skiing this christmas which is just as moisturising as carmex and protects my lips from the cold but its cheaper and in a tube so its easier to use. The smell of carmex isn't great, it dosn't bother me it just smells like menthol without any taste and I prefer the smell and tasted of chapstick. The product is good but not better than chapstick by a long shot and the tub gets annoying all this with the cooling sensation means i'm not going to bother to buy this one again. Hope I helped! Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Honey Lip Balm
SophieSpector 2/22/2010 10:08:00 AM
This is a great product, I much prefer it to carmex. The smell is not great but I wouldn't say its bad either, I just don't enjoy it but it smells natural opposed to a synthetic smell so I think that’s a plus. The best way I could describe the smell is honey and lemon. Other good points are that its not tested on animals and its all natural which is always nice. The packaging is minimal but cute and convenient since its in a tube not a tub. The main thing about this lip balm is how moisturising it is. I get very parched lips and this sinks in straight away. Which I think is fantastic but at the same time the only bad thing is that after 10 minutes your lips feel moisturised but there is nothing on them to protect them so this wouldn't be ideal for when I go skiing or hiking since this doesn’t protect your lips from the elements the way carmex or chapstick does. Though it doesn’t protect your lips for more than 10 minutes this moisturises incredibly well so much so I consider this a HG lip balm. I bought this at boots for £3.49, its not cheap but there is quite a lot of product so it should last me a long time and for the quality its approprtely priced in my opinion. Hope I helped! Sophie
