Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 9:48:00 PM
The same formulation as Smashbox Phto Finish, I found out about this from another makeup artist friend of mine who is in the film industry and has been using for years. I love it... works amazing on just about any type of skin and leaves it a smooth, matte, flawless base for foundation.

Mascara -Rimmel - Sexy Curves

The floppy, odd-shaped brush took a little getting used to, but the mascara, overall, was very nice. It was only a bit defining, but really thickening!

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:30:00 AM
I use this almost every day on myself because it helps to keep the moisture in my skin, which is normally very dry... it helps to keep my foundation smooth and even and lasts all day!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Curious by Britney Spears
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:29:00 AM
Received as a gift, the smell is young and flirty... possibly a bit too young for me, but my husband likes it. Since it's not high-end, it's also easily attainable and looks very nice in the designed bottle.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom

Awesome highlight color and great for nude looks. I also dab a touch of this in the middle of my lower lip on occasion and it makes it look plumper. Good stuff with a fantastic finish!

Fragrances -Chanel - No.5

Sorry, but I am not my grandmother yet. Both my mother and grandmother wore this scent when I was little... I just can't bring myself to smell like an old lady. It's too harsh and not a pleasant scent in my book.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:25:00 AM
Great for many uses - stippling foundation, airbrushed look, swirling creme bases, and applying both cream and powder brushes. I have both this one and the 188 and adore them both.

Glad I stocked up, this is a staple both for myself and in my kit. Keeps myself (and brides) "glisten"-free and dry without being chalky!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Prrr
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:19:00 AM
Not a fan of the color for myself (a bit too porn-star-ish), but a lot of younger clientele prefer the look, so it's become a staple in my kit.

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Mascara
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:16:00 AM
I am a mascara junkie and picked this one up on a whim recently (on sale at Wal-Mart for $5!). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised that a drugstore mascara could do what some of my Clinique and Lancome mascaras do at a fraction of the price. It's very plush - filling in, but not lengthening, and defines nicely with the shape of the brush!

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:13:00 AM
Although a bit pricey for what it is, this stuff works fantastic on keeping down the frizzies in my naturally dry hair. I condition and over-condition, and even add leave-in conditioner, but I still end up with frizz and flyaways without it. It's also fantastic to add a couple of drops to mineral pigments and those that are heavily milled when you press them. Works great!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:11:00 AM
So not worth it. Younger skin can probably deal with this well, but more mature skin and drier skin will just dry out further with this primer. If you really like this and it works for you, I'd switch to Monistat's Chaffing Creme. It's the same formulation for nearly a tenth of the price.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals in 1.2, fairly light
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:04:00 AM
Horrible, awful, terrible. Cakey, powdery, and caused horrible redness and rashy skin. Contains titanium oxides which are VERY irritating. That's just fantastic if you need to buff it in and blend it out, right?

Moisturizers -Vaseline - Petroleum Jelly
SonyaAdams 7/14/2009 5:02:00 AM
Excellent makeup remover (even takes off stubborn waterproof mascaras) and moisturizer (great for ashy elbows and scaly feet) as well as an overnight lip conditioner! I wouldn't wear it during the day (it's a bit too slimy), but it works really well for added moisture for longer-term wear!
