Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Dream Angels Heavenly
rated 5 of 5

I use the Angel Mist version of this scent because it's lighter. If you like wearing perfume, this is wonderfully feminine and powdery and lasts and lasts. And it's true, men love this and the edt version... it's simple a very appealing fragrance all around.

This is a feminine, powdery scent that can be worn every day. It is definitely on the light side, so it doesn't have the oomph or staying power you might want for evening (however, the perfume version fits that bill perfectly - too rich for me during the day though). Absolutely LOVE this fragrance, can't get enough of it...and I was surprised to like a mass produced scent this much. In that way, it is unique.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in See Sheer
rated 4 of 5
Sondra3 3/13/2007 10:12:00 AM

I had a MU application at MAC in NYC. The MUA was wearing this mixed with a light pink and it was gorgeous - I asked her what she was wearing. So she tried the See Sheer on me and I really liked it... on me (brown hair, hazel eyes, med. skin/lips) it goes on fairly lightly and looks like a natural but bright color. I tried what she did and mixed it with pink when I got home and it looks even better. I'll probably always wear it that way. Probably won't repurchase because I rarely run out but in general, this is a nice addition to my lipstick collection!

Conditioner -Giovanni - 50/50 Balanced Remoisturizer
rated 5 of 5
Sondra3 9/12/2006 11:18:00 AM

I actually bought this conditioner to use with Giovanni's Tea Tree Treat shampoo (instead of using the Tea Tree conditioner). I feel I need something really moisturizing after using a tea tree product in my hair. And, I absolutely LOVE this conditioner! I like it better than the Tea Tree product in general... it seems to have the benefit of being very moisturizing AND not heavy or gunky at the same time. Usually, the ultra moisturizing conditioners feel heavy and leave more residue than I'd like. This stuff is perfect and I'll keep using it as long as it works this well on me. I've only used it a few times so hopefully this is not a fluke! I may try the 50-50 shampoo too, to see if I like it too.

Shampoo -Giovanni - Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo
rated 3 of 5

I have mixed feelings...in general I think this is a good product. For me personally, it was a bit drying but hey it's got tea tree oil in it so that's perhaps par for the course. And, I'd also just colored my hair but I did use natural stuff with no ammonia (NaturColor from Whole Foods). I do have a gripe about the packaging... when I squeezed the bottle, a huge amount of shampoo came out and I ended up using most of it as a body wash so I wouldn't waste it all. But, I do think it's a good shampoo with a clean feeling and of course it's got no SLS in it which is a positive thing for many people. I'll keep using it for a while and maybe will post an update down the road.

Crème -Clinique - superbalanced compact [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Sondra3 1/13/2006 12:47:00 PM

This is simply a superb foundation. I'm the type that normally won't wear foundation because just about every one (other than this) leaves me with that foundation-face look. For years then, I've been using a Lancome powder that did a good job of giving the flawless look, but I flake and have been searching in vain for a foundation. Well this stuff rocks - it is so easy to apply (perfect creaminess factor) and if you want less coverage you can use a sponge wet. I rode my horses in hot humid weather and my makeup stayed great, plus no breakouts. The color matches very well (I worked with the SA for a while) and my skin looks clear, smooth and creamy with this. I'll repurchase!

Concealers -Dermablend - Quick-Fix
rated 4 of 5

This is a very good quality concealer and the packaging is extremely handy without skimping on product. I too prime with a bit of moisturizer, but I do that for almost any base product on my face! This covers blemishes and red areas well but you do want to use a careful touch and take your time. Unusual tip: I use this as a cream shadow on my eyelids!! It really wakes up my look, makes my eyes pop, and makes the eyelid skin look creamily even. Try it!

Scrubs -Avon - Clearskin Cleansing Scrub Exfoliant [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Sondra3 11/26/2005 11:19:00 PM

Absolutely love this - have to agree with all the other raves. And I have forever stuck with just using a washcloth to exfoliate my face. But this stuff is so efficient, easily gets to every area of your face, rinses off easily, AND leaves my skin feeling soft soft soft. I took one lippie off for packaging since it's sometimes hard to use in the shower, and if you don't close tightly it can dry out a bit near the top. Great product!!

Treatments -Phyto - Phyto 7
rated 4 of 5
Sondra3 11/26/2005 11:16:00 PM

First time I used this I thought it made my hair feel dry and crunchy, considering it is supposed to be a leave-in conditioner. BUT, the second time I tried it, I used it in conjunction with another product and I have to say I loved what it did for my hair. Which is: I used it on wet hair; then I added some light hair gel. Then I added some more Phyto 7 just to the ends when my hair was dry. And YAY I think it was the first time my ends were NOT frizzy and flyaway. I need to experiment some more however before I give rave ratings.

Lip Liners -MAC - Whirl
rated 4 of 5

This is definitely a bare but better look - I usually use Spice and like another reviewer I too notice Spice to be too orange when compared with this. But ideally I would love something smack in between the two. This is good for giving a bit more definition without really feeling pigmented. There's an Estee Lauder ll that is just perfect and I can't remember which one, anyone know?

Lipstick -MAC - Tassle
rated 4 of 5

A beautiful, what I'd call classic, red. Sort of Marilyn Monroe red. It has ever so slight a hint of tawny but really it's a just a good red with a beautiful smooth but not dry or shiny texture. Very dramatic but wearable.

Treatments (Eye) -Orlane - Kelemata Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
Sondra3 5/22/2005 12:15:00 PM

I have been using the lotion eye makeup remover (which is actually very liquid, like water). It is simply the best I have ever used. It removes everything, is extremely gentle and feels "cool" on my skin, is soothing, and *most* importantly (to me), it is totally non-greasy (I abhor oily makeup removers). I took only 1` lippie off for packaging since once or twice the cap got loose while traveling. But I really love this product.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Potion 9
rated 3 of 5
Sondra3 2/19/2005 11:26:00 AM

Ok - I'm on the fence about this so far. I actually have the generic from Sallys, and not sure if there's an actual difference or not. It doesn't *really* seem to be conditioning or moisturizing on my hair... rather it seems like a straightening agent, almost like a gel result (borderline crunchy). So, when I need my hair to be straighter this seems like a good option (though I prefer phydefrisant since it's very soft). Maybe I'm using this incorrectly (on wet hair) or maybe my hair is too thin/fragile. I hope to give an update at some point.

Liquid -L'Oreal - Cashmere Perfect Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Sondra3 2/19/2005 9:56:00 AM

Just rec'd this in a swap, have used it once so far. Absolutely LOVE it. Pros: extremely natural looking, extremely easy to apply (goes on like silk), color matches me well (I have Nude Beige), looks flawless as a powdery finish. Also, package is small/convenient for travel. Cons: I suggest you exfoliate first to get rid of flakes that might be emphasized with this; also, use a washcloth to remove since it has pretty good staying power if you use just soap & water.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Tonic Lotion

I am still trying to figure out what this stuff is for. I'm happy for those it is doing something for, but for me, I jus don't get it! Certainly, it do not detangle... did not condition... did not do much. Oh well.
