Nails -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - Note to Self
rated 5 of 5

Sephora by OPI polishes are among the best out there. They have awesome staying power and are hard as nails! This particular color is GORGEOUS. It looks just like a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice... bright citrusy orange with a golden sheen. This color is perfect for summertime and I can see me wearing it all summer long. It makes me feel sunny and happy everytime I look at it. I have soft, peeling nails and I feel that OPI polishes help protect them with a hard shell. I always wear my polishes with NailTek nail foundation and NailTek Quicken topcoat, and with these polishes they look flawless for at least 4 days and stay on with no major chip-age for at least 6 to 7. Love it!

Polishes -OPI - Samoan Sand

This is the exact same color as my skin, so when I use it on my nails it looks like I've done nothing! OPI is a wonderful polish, but this particular color doesn't work on me. It would probably look great on a person with olive or dark skin, though. I'm swapping mine away.

Lipstick -GOSH - Velvet Touch Lipstick #134 Darling
rated 5 of 5

I swapped with a girl in Canada who went to the GOSH store and bought me 2 of these, since there are no stores in the US. I really like this lipstick! It reminds me of MAC Creme D'Nude creamsheen lipstick. The color is super nude, like you put concealer on your lips, and the formula is really creamy and light. I don't put lipgloss on top of this because of this. I think this lipstick is really flattering with a super dramatic eye, as it almost "blanks" out your lips so the focus is totally on your eyes. I was planning on swapping my second one, but I might keep it as a backup!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Poetic License
rated 5 of 5

This lipglass makes my lips look super full! It looks like I have a plumping gloss on, but without that nasty bee sting. As always, it has MAC's trademark vanilla cake batter scent which is fabulous. I wore this over a flesh toned lipliner all over my lips today and it is truly beautiful. It is a milky peachy nude color and looks fantastic with the dramatic eyes I wore today.

Lip Gloss -MAC - underage lipglass

Wow! This is simply beautiful! It is a milky super light pink nude lipgloss that I have found looks so gorgeous over MAC's Myth lipstick. This combo provides that perfect nude, glossy lip look that everyone seems to be coveting these days. It gives a gorgeous nude look while still providing enough of a touch of pink to prevent you from looking dead and washed out. I don't find MAC lipglosses to be any stickier than any other brand of lipglosses out there... I think that just comes with the territory. I am definitely a fan. =)

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Exotic Coconut EDT
rated 4 of 5
SomerGirl78 6/3/2009 5:20:00 PM

I really like this scent. I got it for $6 at a BBW outlet and I feel really lucky to have found it. It has a very subtle coconutty scent, not too sweet for my taste, and doesn't smell like the Coppertone suntan lotion. I tend to like bolder fragrances, so I'm always smelling my wrist hoping to catch more of a whiff of this. I find that it doesn't last very long on me, and I'm taking a lippie off for that. Also, the deep green bottle is simple, but it's kind of masculine, which I don't like. Overall, I really like the scent but it doesn't last long enough to pay full price for.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy

This stuff is the shiznit! haha I love it! I have fine, color treated, damaged hair and this stuff applied when my hair is wet before a blow dry helps it to look shinier, healthier, thicker, and more resilient. It doesn't weigh down my hair, but I only use about a quarter size dollop, rub it between my palms and fingers, and glide it over my hair from about 3 inches away from my roots to the ends, then I concentrate on the ends. Don't put it on your roots or it will give you the greasies. I feel that this stuff really protects my hair from heat damage and it smells really nice, too. =)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Platinum Pigment

OMG This is the most beautiful silver e/s I have ever seen! It is a bright silver, not dirty. Very metallic sheen, and you only have to put a little dab on for it to be KABOOM! I only have a sample size, but I'm sure I'm going to want the full size. Today I'm wearing it on the inner corners of my eyes with Deep Truth on the lid and Print in the crease. So beautiful! It gives an ethereal look to other shadows.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 109 Small Contour Brush
rated 5 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/25/2009 12:02:00 PM

I've been using this for about a month now, and I find that it's the brush that I reach for the most. I use this for MSF natural, MSF, contour, highlight, blush, and loose powder. The possibilites are almost limitless! I haven't used this for liquid foundation yet, but I'm sure I'll get around to it. It has been washed and I didn't have any bleeding or major shedding. It has lost less than 5 hairs. I love this most for contour, highlight, and blush because it is so small that it puts the color EXACTLY where you want it, without being smooshed out all over your face. Awesome brush! Has earned a permanent place in my makeup brush collection. EDIT: This has now become the only face brush that I use! I own 168 and 182 as well, but I only ever reach for this one. It still has not been shedding, doesn't bleed when washed, and is perfect for applying contour, highlight, blush, and MSF natural. What would I do without my beloved 109?!?

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/25/2009 11:58:00 AM

This product is better than I expected it to be! All tinted moisturizers I've used in the past have been oily and didn't provide hardly any coverage. Not so with this! This is thick like a thick liquid foundation and I find that 2 pumps put on with my foundation brush provides medium coverage. I consider this more like a liquid foundation with SPF 30, and it has the added bonus of being moisturizing! I dust on powder over this and it stays on me all day. Definitely a good choice for the summer months!

Eye Shadow -Stila - Eye Shadow Duo in Heather/Poise
rated 5 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/24/2009 12:07:00 AM

I received this in a swap, and I really like it! I put the light shade on my lid then the dark shade in the crease, and deepened it in the outer v with a 219 brush. When I first put it on I thought, "oh crap, this looks like I have a black eye". It looked kinda muddy at first. But when I made the darker shade more opaque, the less muddy and more purpley it looked. The finished look is very pretty. Very subtle deep purple that just adds a sort of nice plummy definition to my crease, and the lid looks very light lilac with shimmer. This is perfect for an everyday look, believe it or not.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Chisel Detail Mini Brush
rated 4 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/23/2009 11:38:00 AM

This brush is super small! It's about 4 inches long, and the actual brush is about 1/4 the size of a pencil eraser. It's perfect for applying shadow in your inner corner, powder eyeliner, or a thin line of highlight along the browbone. The brush is super cheap (I think I spent less than $2), so for the price it is awesome. But I wouldn't buy again because you can get the same effect with other brushes that are more multi-tasking.

Lipstick -NYX - Chaos
rated 5 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/22/2009 6:29:00 AM

Pure and simple... the most amazing blue-based red that my lips have ever had the privilege of wearing! I REALLY dislike pink or orange based reds and have been looking for the perfect blue based red forever. This has just enough blue so that it makes my teeth look bright white, and verges on the border of being fuschia-red, and it costs $4 at my Ulta!!! I will always have this in my makeup arsenal. Can also be worn as an extremely pigmented lip stain. Just blot, blot, blot and it will stain your lips a gorgeous fuschia-red and will be there till you take it off! Wuv it!

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dr Feelgood
rated 1 of 5
SomerGirl78 5/20/2009 3:07:00 PM

This stuff is doo doo! It's hard to put on because it tends to roll up into balls and end up all over my shirt instead of my face, and what little ends up on my skin does absolutely nothing! It doesn't make my makeup stay on longer or look any better. However, the smell is amazing. It smells like lemon to me and I can sit and smell the product all day. I just don't want it on my face.
