I love this color! The name Cherry Bomb isn't very fitting and could lead ones expectations to a really red hue, which I would say it isn't. It's a tomato red with orange. The picture on this site is very true to the shade. I just got my toes done in it yesterday and I've already bought a bottle. So far no chipping but I haven't really given it a chance to.
This is a great black/purple hue. It does take a couple coats for me to achieve the darker shade. However, I'm just not that impressed with OPI, it takes quite awhile to dry and it doesn't last long on my nails. They have a wonderful color range though.
Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat [DISCONTINUED]
Smuckles 7/30/2010 8:11:00 PM
I'm a fairly pale lady who steers clear of blushes or anything colorful in fear of looking too flushed or garish. I also don't like a matte finish. I started with the Soft and Gentle highlighter that I would blend over a little sample of clinique blush I received. I started to like the way blush looked, and I adore the Soft and Gentle, which has lasted me forever and was well worth the price. Which then led me to the wildly popular Petticoat. I know it's a "highlighter" but when your as pale as me its a blush, and my perfect one at that. Obviously I'm no savant when it comes to blush, this is pretty much my first investment with anything like that. At first, I was a bit apprehensive with how pigmented it is, but when the SA put it on, even in the crappy MAC lighting it was very pretty. Heavy hand or light I've never managed to make myself look clownish with this. It's no fail. It accentuates my cheek bones and has a dewy, gorgeous, not too pinky finish that is so lovely. Sometimes I apply the Soft and Gentle over it for more sheen, but it's really not necessary, the Petticoat alone does everything I could ask. It will also last me a few years no doubt. HG for sure! I agree that this product is worth all the hub-bub!
Decided to spring for this while it was on sale. I needed a quick pick me up for my eyes in the morning, and the caffeine in this does just that. It feels cool and soothing. I don't have dark under eye issues so I don't know if it does much in that category. But as a light gel that really helps alleviate any puffiness it's aces. It's saved me from the dreaded allergy eye too! I'm glad I bought it.
Eye Makeup Remover -Avon - Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex
Smuckles 7/11/2010 3:05:00 AM
For a makeup remover wipe, this is one of the best I have tried. At first I really loved these. They are big, thick, actually takes most of your makeup off, mascara and all. Though if I wore eye makeup it would usually take two for me to feel like my face was totally clean. Great for those get off a midnight shift, don't feel like taking off my makeup kind of nights. Though I may have been too lazy because I ended up breaking out. I use mineral makeup so it must have been the wipes because I noticed they kind of irritated my skin. A few times after using them my skin burned. Maybe it was the acids, or one of the mineral extracts, I dunno. Unfortunately it didn't agree with my skin, or maybe my face just needs to be washed. On sale they are buy one get one $1.99 so It's worth a try.
Everything a lip liner should be and very affordable. High quality. I chose a nude color, and it blends so well, with great staying power. I also adore their Ultra Luxury Brow Liner. <3 em

Too heavy, too thick, too greasy for moi.
Conditioner -Avon - Planet Spa Mediterranean Olive Oil Conditioning Hair Mask
Smuckles 7/11/2010 2:45:00 AM
It's not too shabby, It's really thick so I only apply it to my ends because It will weigh down my fine hair like crazy. I don't care for the smell, I guess it smells like olive oil. It hasn't done any miracles for my hair, but my hair isn't dry, or too damaged anyway, so I don't notice much if it is doing anything. It's not doing any harm. I couldn't use it consistently because it's so heavy. It's one of those products that has been sitting in my shower for ages and I'm trying to use it up. I could see this being awesome for thicker, more unruly haired gals.
Avon's Ultra Luxury brow liner trumps this is so many ways. UL has more natural color and look. Glimmersticks was too slippy, it didn't have anywhere close to the staying power as UL. It made me look like I lined my brows, and that's not what I'm aiming for. Thank goodness it's cheap because I will only use it once.
Lip Treatments -Avon - Moisture Therapy - Moisturizing Lip Treatment (tube)
Smuckles 7/11/2010 2:29:00 AM
I'm not picky when it comes to lip treatments or chapsticks. This didn't make the cut in the least. It didn't moisturize, or un-chap my lips, I don't know how, it contains things that should do just that. I know for a fact it's chock full of Petrolatum because it's all I could taste. That alone, I can't stand. Blech! It's still worth trying, as it's under a buck. It's just not for me.
Lotions/ Creams -Avon - Avon Basics - Silicone Glove Hand Cream
Smuckles 7/11/2010 2:23:00 AM
I've been using this for years and it is wonderful! The dimethicone in it makes your hands retain moisture without any greasyness and feels silky smooth. It absorbs in an instant. I really believe that it does last between hand washings. I have been buying this for my dad and he adores it too. He has the ultimate working mans hands and this product manages to combat it. My only dislike is that it smells exactly like Nivea, which I'm not too keen about. Avon also must not like that comparison because it got my review deleted off their website, lol. Even though I don't like the smell, I still use it because it's that good, not to mention insanely affordable on sale at $1.79. Give it a try!
The name pretty much sums it up. Dewy, kissable lips. It's not waxy, huge plus for me, but it is thick. Very affordable. Doesn't show any pinky color on my lips or anything. I guess it's helping my chapped lips. I knocked off a lippy because it doesn't contain SPF, and it leaves this light, kind of flowery taste in my mouth, nothing too bothersome though, overall it's a good product. *UPDATE* Flowery taste is getting bothersome. It's odd because you think it would smell the way it tastes but it smells very lightly of something nice, and yet it tastes like parfume somehow. I'm really not too keen on this. Don't think I will repurchase now.
Treatments (Eye) -Avon - liiv botanicals Vitalizing Eye Cream with SPF15
Smuckles 7/11/2010 1:42:00 AM
This is a light, non-greasy, and absorbent cream. SPF 15 and plant nutrients a plus. Helped my tired eyes in the morning, lightened any darkness I had. It's interesting how it comes in a lip balm like tube, very portable. Smells nice. I would buy this product again.
I have med/dark auburn hair and find that the dark brown shade works best for me. I use this to fill in and define my brows. It blends in easily with a brow brush, stays put like a charm, and looks very natural. A staple in my makeup box. I credit my eyebrow compliments to you Avon! They always have sales where you can grab this for $1.99, can't beat it.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Under Your Spell Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo
Smuckles 7/11/2010 1:27:00 AM
After using another duo like this (Bright Side/Gallery Gal) and absolutely adoring it, I thought this would have similar density and staying power. I do love the colors but the copper does flake right off, and you have to apply a lot of either one for more pigment, especially the copper. So even though you're careful applying the shadow so you don't get glitter cheeks, it doesn't matter, at the end of the day, if that, I have glitter face. Maybe it's because I use the copper as an eyeliner and it falls right off. Copper flecks that don't stay really spoil this one. It does really help to wet it, but it's still really hard to build. Bummer.
