I bought this foundation because I always wanted to try it. Overall, I think it's okay. Overall coverage was good and it did not break me out. But it felt so nasty and heavy on my skin. As the day when on, it made my skin look dry and cakey. Wont buy again.

Treatments -Nuance by Salma Hayek - Blackcurrant Intense Hydration Hair Mask

This is probably my all time favorite deep conditioner. I love using this once a week as a hair mask. It's pretty pricy for a bottle of conditioner- it goes for about $10 at CVS but every now and again, there will be extra bucks rewards for it which can save money. I always recommend buying stuff at CVS and doing the math- you can really save! I do recall ONCE that all Nuance shampoos, conditoners, and treatments where $6.99 or something. That was a crazy good sale and that was the first time I bought this. I do think it's worth the money but I can't buy it all the time. I wish it was cheaper, it's a GREAT product. Leaves my hair so silky, soft, and shiny.

Primer/ Corrector -E.L.F. - Mineral Infused Face Primer
rated 3 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/18/2013 5:57:00 PM

This is a review for the one that is tinted with gold shimmer. On the ELF website is it labeled as one to get to cover imperfections but I really didn't like this at all. 3/5 lippies for effort. The primer didn't break me out but it made my face look really shiny. Not what I wanted. I only got this one because the clear was out of stock. I probably should have just waited for the clear one. Packaging is okay but the lid keeps falling off in my makeup bag.

This product actually works pretty good for me. It does dry out pretty fast but for $2... well, what do you expect? It stays for a good while and that's good enough for me. Would repurchase.

Primer/ Corrector -Hourglass - Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/18/2013 2:51:00 PM

I heard so much hype about this product and really wanted to try it. It seemed perfect for my skin- being oil-free and also has SPF. Sounds good! But my wallet nearly cried when I saw that the small 0.33 oz size of this product is $18 and the 1 oz bottle is $52. Whoa. I didn't want to plunk down the hard cash for a product I hadn't tried yet so I went to Ebay to search for samples. I was a bit surprised and yet again, not surprised to see that samples of this product (the 0.16 oz bottle) go for around $10-$13. A SAMPLE SIZE! If you are lucky you can find a seller selling it for $9. None of those prices even include shipping. Yikes. On to the product itself, I'd say it works pretty good. I like the fact that it didn't break me out. It makes my foundation look alright. The feel is silky and smooth when you apply but once I let the product sink in and then apply my foundation, it seems to make the foundation harder to blend. After a while of blending, the end finish was decent but not exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn't call this my HG primer, and I will keep on looking for one that suits my skin more, but this product get's a thumbs up from me. I can see myself purchasing again if I don't find anything better. I'd buy the $18 one though. $52 is way too much over what I would spend on a single cosmetic item.

Liquid -E.L.F. - Flawless Finish Foundation
rated 4 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/16/2013 6:17:00 PM

I am on my second bottle of this stuff which already tells you that I think it's a pretty good foundation. Good but not perfect, but what is perfect, right? We all have different skin tones and types and cosmetics are not one size fits all. I am a big advocate of trying things out for yourself. With all of that said, this foundation is good for my acne prone sensitive skin because a) it's oil free and b) it has SPF. Two great things. This foundation does not break me out which is a GREAT asset. I have used this with and without primer and I'd say it works pretty good without primer. I prefer using primer with my foundation which can make the foundation a bit more difficult to blend. The only negative I have with this product is: It does not give me full coverage, which I need. I get medium coverage at best. Concealer is still needed. Not too much of a bad thing, really. This does cover redness and dark spots that are not too dark. I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being terrible and 10 being flawless: My skin would be a 5 and this foundation takes it to an 7. Not bad. This foundation works good for me so I will be sticking with it.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 4 of 5
SkyAlternative 9/3/2012 5:30:00 PM

I bought this lip balm a month ago and waited that long to write a review on it so I could judge the claims made on the package which show percentages of women who saw benefits like softer lips, less dryness, etc...I have had a positive experience with this lip balm but it is not perfect. I bought the clear one in the blue package. It makes my lips look very supple, as long as I put only one coat. Multiple coats = a greasy type feel. Also, some people have mentioned getting white coats on their lips- I have also experienced that. I find that exfoliation with a toothbrush or a lip exfoliation product will help prevent that. As for the claims, I haven't really noticed much overall changes in my lips. Overall, I like this lip balm and I think the price is fair (I got mine at walmart for $2.50.) I will purchase again, maybe in a different scent/color.

Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
rated 5 of 5
SkyAlternative 6/24/2012 10:23:00 PM

I spotted this product on the shelf at Wal Mart and my immediate thought was "What is the purpose?" My go-to product is Garnier Sleek and Shine serum with argan oil so when I saw this product I thought they would be more or less the same product. Wrong. I'd say this product works better. It's an oil instead of a serum so it's very light (ONE rule to follow when using oil-based hair products: Less is more!) And this product is more versatile. If you do not want to put the oil straight on your hair, you can add a few drops to your conditioner for added conditioning. You can use this on wet OR dry hair as well. I get the same fantastic results as I did with the serum (Shiny, frizz-free, smooth hair) only the results last longer. I can wake up out of bed with my hair a mess, comb the hair out, and it will still be soft and frizz free. Love this product. This is my new HG hair product and of course I will purchase again.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
rated 4 of 5
SkyAlternative 6/24/2012 10:13:00 PM

I like this mascara but I am not blown away by it. I had a coupon for Maybelline mascara and my all time favorite is Maybelline Colossal waterproof mascara because it gives volume, color and holds curl so that is what I intended to get. I spotted this mascara and was curious about it so I got a tube. The results: It gave me subtle black pigment on my lashes and held curl okay. Did not flake after several hours which is a huge PLUS. Overall volume was nice but nowhere near the Colossal. The curl did not stay put much. It was still curled but not as much as I'd like. And personally, I like the mascaras to leave my lashes looking DARK. So I did have a nice experience with it but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I MAY repurchase in the future, but I think I will stick with my Colossal. I'd say this is a good mascara if you like a subtle, barely there look that holds a little curl.

Treatments -Neutrogena - T/Gel
rated 5 of 5

I use this because I get blood spots on my head from time to time. I have never gone to the doctor for it because I heard you can try this stuff first to get rid of it. mine is not that severe that I need a doctor it's usually just 3-4 small blood spots/scabs. I usually go through 2-3 bottles of this stuff (around 1-2 months) before they go away. I like the product. It smells awful but it get's the job done. It's a bit costly and wal mart has a store brand for $1-3 less. Would repurchase

Styling Products -Organix - Macadamia Dry Styling Oil
rated 4 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/24/2012 8:05:00 PM

I got this product and Organix Awapuhi Ginger dry styling oil for $7.99 at walgreens (Buy1Get1FREE!) I had higher expectations for this product than the other one but this one let me down a bit. I really didn't get any spectacular results. I tried it one day and only put a small amount it made my hair soft for a while but did not get much shine. My hair was back to being VERY dry the next day. It also seemed to weigh my hair down a bit. The next time I tried it I used much less and got the same results. I still have plenty of product and plan to use the rest by putting a dollop or two in my conditioner for extra conditioning. Doing that hasn't given me any problems but using this on it's own was very underwhelming. Won't repurchase but it's worth a try if you like macadamia oil. Or perhaps find a sample somewhere. Some products are different depending on people and I can understand that. EDIT: Okay, I have changed my ratings. I tried this product one more time and got good results. I can only gather that the culprit for the bad results I got was my conditioner, not the oil. I've used this product again twice after my review and got GREAT results- more toward the results I was looking for. It doesn't IMO work as great as other oils/serums I've used like argan oil but it left my hair shiny and managable. Would repurchase.

Hair -Organix - Reparing Awapuhi Ginger Dry Styling Oil
rated 5 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/24/2012 7:56:00 PM

Fantastic product. I had never heard of this product before going into Walgreens one day and seeing a bunch of new style product lines. Walgreens had a buy one get one free sale so I got this product and Organix Macadamia Dry Styling Oil both for $7.99 :) So now on to how this product performs. Products with argan oil are usually my go-to product but this works just as good, if not better. It's not the type of product that makes your hair feel soft instantly. Once it dries though, it's perfect. My hair is BEYOND silky smooth, healthier looking and frizz free. I didn't expect this product to perform so fantastically. As with any serums or oils, if you put too much it will get greasy. This product get's an A+ Will purchase again.

Foundations -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-In-One
rated 3 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/22/2012 4:09:00 PM

I wasn't overly impressed with this product. I used it on plain skin and it felt really oily at times. after I was done with the finish looked a bit oily- I had to keep rubbing and rubbing to blend. overall the results were not what I was looking for. somes parts seemed to cake up and i could still see my dark spots and whatnot. My sister bought this for me so i didn't lose any money but i would not repurchase for myself.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverCreme Intense Nourishing
rated 5 of 5
SkyAlternative 3/7/2012 7:01:00 PM

I've gotten the best results from this Shampoo (and conditioner) than any other products on L'Oreal's sulfate free line. It leaves me hair smooth and soft.it seems like this shampoo lathers more than the other shampoos in L'Oreal's other sulfate free line (I've tried them all). This system of Evercreme leaves my hair soft and smooth. Love it and will repurchase

I've gotten the best results from this conditioner (and shampoo) than any other products on L'Oreal's sulfate free line. I've tried Everstrong- liked it. Tried everpure- wasn't too impressed. Tried Eversleek- thought it was okay. But this line of Evercreme is great. My hair is left soft and smooth.
