Top/Base Coats -Poshe - Super-Fast Drying Top Coat
rated 5 of 5

Oh yes! This is the most brilliant topcoat ever! Even surpassing my favorite SH! This makes even the crappiest polish (yes, I'm talking about you 60 seconds by Rimmel) stay chipfree for several days. It even survived me trying to open my UD Naked Basics palette several times, normally good for a chip or 3 from my thumb/index finger, showering multiple times, washing my hair, EVERYTHING! Hallelujah! Only con is that it is not sold here in the Netherlands and it's therefor a bit more expensive and difficult to get than SH.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 3 of 5
Sjess 5/23/2013 10:35:00 AM

I have problem-free skin, it's only a bit on the dry side. For me this was the first BB cream I ever used, and at first I was happy with it. It gives a light coverage, the colour adapted to my skin tone and it moisturizes well enough. I still occasionally use it, but not as much anymore because it now does feel a bit too greasy for my liking. Maybe it's because I do use an anti-aging moisturizer underneath but this "BB cream" just doesn't cut it skincare-wise to stop me doing that. It's more a creamy foundation than a real BB cream. It's not a total disaster or a complete waste of money though, I did really like it during the autumn&winter. Will probably not re-buy, but I will try the oil-free one for combination skin just to see if that is better.

Lips -GOSH - Long Lasting Lip Marker
rated 4 of 5
Sjess 5/23/2013 10:23:00 AM

My first lip stain. I got it for free with my loyalty points at my local DS. I have it 001 Red, and boy, it's red! A beautiful warm red *hearteyes*! It lasts forever, surviving swimming, exercizing, lunch, dinner, nuclear war. It does wear of a little to a dark red/pink, nothing bad. It is a total b*tch to remove without a waterproof cleanser. So be committed to it all day when you put this on in the morning ;)!

Pressed Powders -Essence - All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder

I'm not a foundation user, I'm more of a BB cream/TM gal. I use this stuff on it's own, or over BB cream/TM, to give me a matt complexion. Works perfect! And that for a measly 3 euro's! Highly recommended!

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
rated 4 of 5
Sjess 5/23/2013 4:16:00 AM

I saw the Naked Basics palette at Sephora many times and everytime I was thinking "Nah... not my colours...". After dabbling a bit with cheaper palettes, like the Catrice Absolute Nude one, I finally just relented to the pull of Urban Decay and bought the Naked Basics palette. Ofcourse this was decided by me after Sephora pulled all their Dutch stores, so I had to order it through Beautybay. About the palette itself now! I'm over 30 with some fine lines around my eyes, so the glittery look just looks 'she-tried-too-hard' on me. This has the perfect matte shades to make a natural made-up look for everyday. Although the colours looked like they weren't really for me, surprisingly they do! It's fairly easy to use, I got the look right the first time, which is a feat as I'm not really that good with eyeshadow. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 lippies is because I find the blendability left somewhat to be desired. If not carefull it can end up al murky, which is not a good look on anyone ;). Too be honest, it deserves 4,5 lippies.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
rated 3 of 5
Sjess 5/22/2013 3:22:00 AM

Nope, this just isn't it for me. It's greasy, doesn't make my hair softer or less frizzy. Smells great but that's the only plus as far as I'm concerned. I will be sticking to my Orofluido, which is a lot better and a LOT cheaper!

I've used both this oil as the overhyped Moroccanoil. This is, by far, my favorite of the two. It smells wonderful, it leaves my hair soft and shiny, and I haven't notice any annoying build-up. I use this before I blow-dry my hair, and a little bit after I finish. Love it! I've ordered the Orofluido Sahara Hair Protection for my Greek holiday, will update on that.

Polishes -Rimmel - 60 Seconds Nail Polish
rated 2 of 5
Sjess 5/22/2013 3:10:00 AM

What..?! An average of 4 lippies?! How can this be?! This nailpolish is meh, as far as I'm concerned. I have it in 405 Rose Libertine, which is a pretty, summery, bright pink. One layer isn't opaque (it's very unevenly and see-through), and doesn't dry in 60 seconds. And as the packaging says one-coat nail polish, dries in less than 60 seconds, it's a huge fail. Also, it chips like crazy, it doesn't even hold up for one night! The lovely color saves it from getting just one lippie.

Treatments -L'Oreal - La Manicure BB Perfect
rated 4 of 5
Sjess 5/17/2013 6:57:00 AM

A BB nailpolish..? Oh yes, L'Oreal really does know how to entice me to buy their stuff ;)... It basically is a pastel-tinted base coat which you can also on it's own. L'Oreal promises 5 things: smooth, unified, revived, strengthened and protected nails, just like a skincare BB cream would. It goes on smoothly and without stripes, the brush is wide, which I find very handy. One coat gives a light pastel pink sheen, two coats makes it lighter. My nails have been awful lately, tearing and breaking, so I will use this stuff for a while and see what it does. Will keep updating.

Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper-Waterproof
rated 4 of 5
Sjess 5/13/2013 3:38:00 AM

Well, in my quest for the ultimate volumizing waterproof mascara it's this one's turn. I have seen it hanging around in the drugstore but I was too busy with trying out the high end mascara's to give this one a try. All the HE wp mascara's don't really do what I want them to, that is to be really waterproof and to give good volume. The perfect wp mascara would be the volume of Le Volume de Chanel and the waterproofness of Maybelline's Great Lash wp. As long as Chanel doesn't have a wp Le Volume I will continue my quest ;)! What shall I say about this one, it's pretty close to my ideal mascara but it's not THE one. It is really black, it curls my lashes, doesn't clump and it really stays put. The real test will be my holiday in Greece next month (will update). What this mascara doesn't do is give good volume, even after three layers (and therefor became a total b*tch to remove). For my holiday and work-outs it is good enough but I will continue searching for THE perfect volume wp mascara cause this isn't it.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Flavor Cherry
rated 3 of 5
Sjess 5/3/2013 7:37:00 AM

I'm a sucker for rose-tinted lip balms! Here in the Netherlands it's sold as Labello Fruity Shine Cherry SPF10. It's not really red as some others have mentioned, it's really pink, but a natural looking colour indeed, but a little streaky unfortunately... It's not as good as the rosy tinted one from Vaseline, which is by far my favorite lip balm, but because this one has spf it still rates very high IMO. Price is a bit higher than the Vaseline one, but it's still far cheaper than the Burt's Bees ones.

Sunscreen -Lancaster - Sunscreen products
rated 5 of 5

This review is for the Sun Sport Dry Touch Gel SPF20. I received a large sample in my TY box this month (sample box here in NL) and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised! I used this a couple of times on my face when I go out running and it works brilliantly! No greasy film on your skin, even while sweating it doesn't turn greasy. Bit expensive though :(... €30 for 70ml is crazy.

BB Cream -Urban Decay - Naked Skin Beauty Balm
rated 4 of 5
Sjess 4/27/2013 10:37:00 AM

First of all: Wow! Really expensive! Luckily I bought it with a 40% discount at Sephora here in the Netherlands. I'm not surprised about the bad reviews here but for me this works fine. The colour looks great on my fair-medium warm toned skin. No tango effect here ;). It doesn't really cover anything but it does make my pores less obvious. It also makes my wrinkles less visible, big plus! Best things as far as I'm concerned are that it gives a matt glow (matt but not chalky or dry looking) and it doesn't feel greasy (like the Garnier BB). But let's be honest: it's not a BB cream. Not sure if I'll repurchase as 1: too expensive 2: Sephora is pulling its stores from the NL :'( so no more UD for us here.

Polishes -OPI - Animalistic

Even though it's a strong colour it's very versatile. I can wear it over orange, red or hot-pink nailpolish and it looks great (and different!). Perfect for summer!
