Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Zotos Age Beautiful Anti-Aging Permanent Hair Color

Pros: Minimal fading (The first time I tried to fade using baking soda and clarifying shampoo. It didn't budge) Very affordable (They had a sale last month 2 for 1....ended up being less than $6 for 2 tubes of color!) Gentle on hair (My hair didn't feel like straw afterward using 20 developer. 2nd time I made 25 developer and it felt a tad bit rough when I rinsed but nothing like it has felt in the past using Nice and Easy) Low odor Covers grey (I probably have 40% grey) Cons: Finding the right shade (get someone to help you if possible. I didn't ask for help and went way too dark the first time. 2nd time was perfect though and worth the experimentation to find the right color b/c this is definitely the right product for me) Best applied with a brush and bowl not a bottle (this is a preference thing, I'm sure most pros prefer the brush)
I like this much better than the Garnier BB cream. Not full coverage but better staying power and less orange than Garnier BB cream. I've been using for a few days and so far no breakouts. Dirt cheap....6.99 at CVS and I like things packaged in tubes so I can eventually cut them open to remove every last bit of product.
BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
Silvia8329 12/30/2012 9:05:00 PM
I purchased light/medium, I normally wear light in Bare Escentuals. My skin looked more and more orange/peach as the day progressed. The coverage was not good for me either. I do like foundations that are packaged in tubes and I liked the consistency, unfortunately the end result matters far more than packaging and consistency. I would not buy this again.
Styling Products -Organix - Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray
Silvia8329 9/3/2012 1:14:00 PM
After using this product a few times, I didn't notice any difference in my hair. The bottle was very hard to use; no matter how you grasped it, it made also pressing the sprayer down difficult. If you held it where the bottle was wide, it was hard to grasp because of how wide the bottle is. If you held it the narrow way you still had to have fingers around the widest part to keep it from flying out of your hand.
Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Shampoo
Silvia8329 5/22/2012 2:58:00 PM
I was using the L'oreal eversmooth products prior to trying this. It lathers a lot more than the L'oreal, probably because it is low sulfate and not sulfate free. I like it a lot and the smell doesn't bother me. It dissipates quickly imo. I will definitely purchase this again and would choose it over the L'oreal eversmooth/pure line of products.
Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
Silvia8329 5/1/2012 10:32:00 PM
I was looking for an inexpensive drugstore foundation. This works well for me but I can see how it would be drying for some. I have an oily t-zone and acne prone skin. It has not made me break out. I did notice a slight itching sensation the first few days but that stopped-no clue if it was related to the foundation. I apply it with a moist cosmetic sponge and I don't use a lot. I don't see how you could apply this with your fingers without having a splotchy mess on your face. It dries quickly. I like the packaging because it is simple and easy to keep the opening clean.
I liked this product because it made my regular nail polish last 3 days, minor chipping started on the 4th day. No matter what technique/prep I use applying regular polish, it starts chipping after 24 hours, sometimes less. I've had professional manicures and I've tried a variety of products, but no matter what regular polish chips within a day. I used Revlon Colorstay base coat and let it dry for 15 minutes. I then applied a China Glaze color and immediately followed with the Seche UV top coat. I cured under the light 3 minutes.
This is a great inexpensive clarifying shampoo for occasional use. I'm sure if you have extremely oily hair, you could use it very frequently. *As a bonus, it makes an awesome cleaner for your bathtub/shower stall as it removes soapscum/film. I read this tip somewhere a long time ago and I use it to clean the shower. It is nice to use as a shower cleaner since there isn't a harsh chemical odor.
This conditioner was not moisturizing enough for my hair. I tried it since I love the argan oil that is in the same line of products. Very disapointed, going back to the Loreal Eversleek conditioner for now.
Masks -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 25% Mandelic Acid Peel
Silvia8329 2/17/2012 9:48:00 PM
I'm a 37 year old light skinned caucasian woman with blackheads on my nose and chin that never seem to go away completely. I have combination skin. I cleanse my face twice a day with a product that contains glycolic and/or salicylic acids and use moisturizer. I have used drugstore peels before that were low strength. The last product I used was avon anew clinical peel pads and they did make my skin have a smoother texture the next morning. The MUAC mandelic acid peel is amazing. I can't wait to see the results after 6-8 weeks of regular use. I'm hoping it kills the blackhead problem permanently. I washed my face with purity made simple then applied the solution using a cotton swab. I left it on for a full 5 minutes. It stung within a minute on the areas of my face that are more dry (cheeks) but it was by no means unbearable. When I rinsed it off, it burned and my face was pink; not nearly as red as it gets when I use water that is too hot to wash. I applied the aloe lavendar stuff sold by MUAC afterward and it did have a soothing effect. The next morning my face was smoother but still a bit pink. After two days passed, my skin looked great, more refined/toned. The product packaging is simple but it works; holds the product and doesn't leak. It came with an instruction card as well. The cost is insanely cheap when you consider the number of applications you get out of the bottle and compare it to spa/derm prices. I can't wait to make my next purchase for my mom and possible more products for me. I would have never found out about this company had it not been for makeup alley!
Foundations -Revlon - Custom Creations Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
Silvia8329 1/11/2012 8:25:00 AM
I apply liquid foundation with a damp sponge and have no problems with caking or streaks. I sometimes mix the foundation with my moisturizer too. Overall I'm happy with the product. It doesn't have a fragrance, others mentioned a smell, I'm not sure if there were different formulations or what. I don't notice the foundation coming out after I finished pumping it either. Some have mentioned that problem. The hole does get caked up a bit inside but I think that happens with any dispenser like this. Most of my make up gets thrown out before I use it all up so it doesn't really bother me that there is some waste with the side that is used less.
Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Soft Black liner shadow
Silvia8329 1/9/2012 11:13:00 AM
I like most of the BE liner shadows a lot. This color is nice and has good pigment. I've purchased two of the purples and pigment in those wasn't very good. What I like best about this is the fact it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I wear contact lenses and it is the only eye makeup that causes me NO irritation. I use it wet with a liner brush from BE. I have a 'fatter' one and a very thin brush, both work great for me. It takes a little practice and I am by no means an eye make up pro. I suck as a matter of fact, especially with eye shadow application. My eyes are oily so it doesn't last all day. It doesn't smear, it just seems to wear off which is more than I can say for most liners. I wish the product came in a little tube with a small shaker top or something less messy. I sometimes use a plastic spoon and put some dry liner shadow in it then wet the brush and mix it on there so I don't have to wipe out the lid to the container.
I am a contact lens wearer and most eye makeup irritates my eyes. This irritates too but not nearly as much as other products so it is something I will continue to use since it is the one of the few less irritating eye products I've found. It is a thin consistency which I like because I hate clumpy mascara. It coats the lashes nicely and makes them darker. If you are looking to make your lashes thicker, this isn't the product for you. If you have sensitive eyes and want to make your lashes stand out, this is a good product to try. Tha packaging is nice, the cost is on par with other department store makeup. I prefer less expensive drugstore brand wonders but so far there aren't any like this one that I've found.
I am a contact lens wearer and my eyes are irritated by most eye makeup. This irritated my eyes but it wasn't extreme so I will continue to use as my options are pretty limited, especially in drugstore brands. It gives your lashes a little bit of gloss but obviously doesn't make them darker. I found that applying it then holding the lashes up with the applicator while aiming a warm blow dryer at them helps the lashes curl and also dries the product faster. I don't have an eyelash curler right now so this is a decent alternative. I've never tried it on my brows. It is cheap, isn't too irritating and readily available at any drugstore or big box store.
Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mr. Pumice - Pumi Bar
Silvia8329 1/9/2012 10:50:00 AM
This is the only pumice that has worked for me. It gets rid of most of the cracked/dry callouses. It doesn't make my feet sore like the 'cheese graters' and clay or stone pumices. If you go at it every day with some bar soap or other thick soap/scrub it really makes a huge difference and becomes easy to maintain if you do it a little every day once the worst of it is exfoliated away. It is cheap, has minimal packaging and works!!!
