Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)

So many reviews on this product! It is obviously one of the best selling higher-priced cleansers available. I started using mine several months back and now I absolutely swear by it and have persuaded people to buy it based off how my skin looks! I was hesitant in the first couple of weeks because I broke out a little around the chin but my skin has been absolutely clear and smooth after those break outs healed up. My skin has never had a glow to it but now it does and I give a great deal of credit to this cleanser. Also love the purity makeup wipes! Becoming less and less concerned about being shielded with makeup when out in public. And I have the most sensitive troubled skin you could imagine.
Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - InStyler-Tre Milano brand

I am not sure about the InStyler causing long-term damage as mentioned in the review below since I've only been using it for less than a month. However, I do know that pretty much every hot styling tool I have used has caused some damage to my hair. I've been using flat irons and various styling tools off and on through the years since I was 12. And with repeated use, you can more or less guarantee that you will see at least a little damage. Sometimes you see a lot depending on your hair type. My hair is extremely coarse, thick, frizzy, and wavy. So for me, if I wanted a sleek straight look I had no choice but to damage the hell out of my hair! I have found the routine I am on right now has kept my hair very healthy and hopefully undone some of that damage. Anyway, back to the InStyler, I was really skeptical of it, as I am with pretty much anything that is heavily advertised on TV. But my mom got me one for Christmas so I decided to give it a shot for my mom's sake. She is pretty on point with finding great beauty products. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I really, really love it. It's so easy to use and it takes me a lot less time to straighten (or do waves) my hair than with a flat iron or curling iron. And it looks really natural too, not overly stick-straight but just really soft and shiny. I am in love!
I purchased the Mia (2) about a month ago at Sephora. In that short amount of time I've seen a dramatic improvement in the overall clarity and smoothness of my skin. The first few times I used it I was incredibly amazed at how smooth my skin felt after cleansing it. I am hoping that it will continue to improve my skin. I have pretty big pores on my nose and I haven't seen a difference in the size of them thus far. First couple of weeks I did get some breakouts on my forehead. SA at Sephora warned me that I would. But I honestly have only had two pimples since that initial first week. Usually break out a lot during my period, I'm so used to it, I just come to expect it every month. Well, this is the first cycle of using the Mia 2 and I haven't seen ONE pimple. I'm getting used to my skin being clear so I hope this trend will continue. I LOVE my Clarisonic and for me it was well worth the money. I love how it beeps to tell me when to switch areas of my face. And it blinks when it needs charged. Might have to do an updated review in the next couple of months to see if it will get rid of these nasty oversized pores on my nose.
This is a really great product for me. I have long, thick hair that gets unruly after I wash it. I only wash my hair twice a week, and what I do is towel dry it as soon as I get out of the shower and wrap it in a towel. Then I take it out of the towel, spray the detangler all over, and comb through. It is not a perfect product, I still struggle with some minor tangling. But it makes a huge difference. I recommend this to people with really thick hair that has a tendency to tangle.
New favorite blush. Expensive, but totally worth it. Looks good on any skin tone. Enough said.
Gels/Soaps -Nivea - Touch of Cashmere Cream Oil Body Wash

If you've read some of my other reviews I've mentioned before that I like to smell everything. It might be superficial to buy something based purely on how it smells but I like to smell good and clean! So that is how I came to find this. From smelling virtually every body wash at the grocery store and coming to the conclusion that this one smelled the best. So, in summary, it's the best smelling body wash I have EVER used. I've used ALOT and will continue to try new ones, but this one is the best so far. It's not the cheapest, not the most expensive. I wish the bottle was bigger. I will repurchase it but it's been less than a month and I'm just now squeezing the last bits of it out. Other than that I love everything about it. The best part is that the smells lingers on your skin after you get out of the shower and dry off.
Skincare - Face -Stridex - Triple Action Pads, Alcohol Free

I remember using this as a teenager at the height of my acne break-outs. Back then I didn't like them, but I have to forgive myself because back then I was extremely naive and had no idea how to properly care for my troubled skin. After years of trying various other products and procedures, I had come full-circle at Wal Mart. I was back at square one, looking in their skincare aisle for something that might help my skin. However, as a teenager I didn't have MUA! With the help of your reviews I decided to give this another try, and I am so happy that I have. I believe these pads are a huge factor in the recent improvements I have seen in my skin. For something so affordable, it almost feels wrong that it works so well! I mean, procedures at the dermatologist cost hundreds more, can be painful and embarrassing (imagine being 17 and having to slather your entire face with white numbing cream twice a month 30 minutes before your dermatologist appointment) and often times with so-so results. But these little pads have dramatically improved the clarity of my skin, in less than a month. I am so happy that I no longer have to pay outrageous prices for my skincare, and that I don't have to go out of my way to get it from some obscure salon or doctor's office. It's literally 5 minutes down the road at Wal Mart, and it costs less than a latte from Starbucks! And it works! Yes, I too was under the assumption that you "get what you pay for," but I have been proven wrong, and thank God!
Moisturizers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer

I'm so happy I have found this. The price point is in the middle, it was around $15 at Wal Mart, however it's worth every penny, and much less than a lot of prestige moisturizers. It's the perfect moisturizer for my oily, acne prone skin. I am glad I FINALLY found a moisturizer that doesn't break me out, doesn't make me greasy, and has helped clear up my skin.

First I just want to thank everyone on MUA for your reviews on this product. I decided to buy it after seeing the high ratings, and the fact that 83% would buy it again. That's one of the best ratings I've ever seen on this site for a skincare product. I have been using this for almost a month and it's transformed my skin. Not dramatically, but I am seeing it get better and better every day. I still have the occasional cyst on the underside of my chin. In fact, I have one right now, but it's going away after just a couple of days as opposed to some that last months before I started using Purpose. As far as my actual face goes, completely clear, smooth, and soft. I was so scared that I would break out bad since I've had such horrible luck with drugstore brand skincare. I have had minor breakouts since using this, however I've developed a routine that is really doing wonders for me now. Purpose is 1/3 of the regimen that is making my skin what I have always wanted it to be. Thanks again everyone for your positive reviews. I know now that I can count on you all, and I look up the reviews on my phone while I'm at the store before I buy something.
I've had this for two days...considered me addicted. I was formerly one of those anti-Suave type of women who spent outrageous amounts of money on hair products. While some of them were worth the money, there is nothing better to me than finding a great product for a great deal. This is hands-down the best smelling, cheapest dry shampoo on the market. Cheaper than Tresemme which I was using before this, but when I couldn't find the spray at the grocery store, I found the Suave dry shampoo and decided to buy it because it's cheap and because I've had success with the new line of Suave shampoos. Please, Suave, I beg of you, NEVER CHANGE THIS NEW FORMULA you've been using for the past year or so (?) with your products. When you tried to re-invent your image I called BS at first, but now my opinion has been COMPLETELY swayed. I will be a customer FOREVER if you keep up with this trend.
Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Tone Tahitian Vanilla and Orchid Body Wash

So I have finally found a great smelling body wash that I really love. I've mentioned before that I'm big on smells, I like to go around the store sniffing all the beauty products (weird I know, but I can't be the only woman who does this, can I?) if I don't like the way something smells I don't care how well it works, the smell will nauseate me to the point where it becomes unusable. But in any case I love how this stuff smells. It's not the cheapest body wash but for good reason. I showered last night and can still smell the scent on my skin this evening. Lathers great, also.
I'm so happy I found this! I just recently got a lot of highlights put in my naturally very dark hair. The underneath of my hair was then dyed dark black, darker than my natural. I was using Tresemme and knew it wasn't formulated for color treated hair, so I basically went to the grocery store in search of the cheapest stuff I could find. I passed on garnier, herbal essences, and pantene after having so-so results with all of those brands. I'm big on smells and this honestly smelled the best out of everything I sniffed. I've been using it for about three weeks and have had little to no color fade. However I only wash my hair twice a week so I'm sure that helps, but I was back and forth on getting the suave. I once had a stylist tell me it's really bad for you and drying, but that hasn't been the case for me. It says on the bottle it's comparable to biolage and as a former user of Biolage I can honestly say this is a respectable, much, much more affordable dupe. Did I mention how good it smells? I think that's what surprised me the most, that it didn't smell like cheap, soapy shampoo.
Benefit makes great cosmetics. They are high quality. And usually unbelievably expensive. Mascara is hit or miss. I like this mascara a lot but I think it's because my eyelashes are one of my better features. I can understand how women with smaller lashes struggle with mascara. I hate to sound arrogant, and that is not my intention, because I can totally relate. The way women with small lashes feel about mascara, that's how I feel about lip color because I'm quite self-conscious about my thin little lips. So in my experience this stuff works wonderfully. One thing I can tell you is invest in a nice eyelash curler. If you have long lashes it'll make your lashes look almost false, if you have short lashes it'll curl them up and make them look longer. Also it makes the mascara easier to apply. This is one of those splurge type mascaras that I love to use but only pull out every once in a while for a special occasion. For everyday, I swear by L'Oreal Voluminous. Much more affordable, so even if you're not a fan, you won't be as frustrated with yourself for spending so much money on something that doesn't deliver.
Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Pencil in Strawberry Milk
Shoppingisasport 8/4/2011 10:01:00 PM
I like to use this as a base, or I will just use it by itself and put a darker shade in my crease. But it works great either way. I have a couple of other NYX eye pencils, they're highly pigmented, but this shade in particular gets the most use for me, I guess because it's so versatile.
I'd have to say this is in my top 2 fragrances of all-time. It's toss-up between this and Juicy. I wore this all through high school, in fact it was one of the first fragrances I owned so it made me feel really "grown up." Brings back so many memories- my first trips to NYC, high school dances, hanging out with my friends. My mom's favorite perfume is Victoria's Secret Rapture, so to me it's like a 2nd generation thing, she had Rapture, I have Pink.
