I feel compelled to write a review right now because I really put Summer Bisque to the test today. A few days ago I was playing soccer and someone hit their head on my cheekbone. It swelled up and left me with some bad bruising. I didn't want to explain my injury to everyone at school, so I used this to cover it. Ok, it didn't cover COMPLETELY, but I don't know what would. But it made the bruise barely detectable, my friends said they didn't even notice it until I said something. Plus, it didn't look like I had a bunch of concealer piled on, which would have pretty much defeated the purpose. I was even more won over by it a few minutes ago when I washed my face and saw the true intensity of bruising. I am in love with Summer Bisque now!
Moisturizers -Desert Essence - Jojoba Oil - 100% pure

I am so glad I found out about this product on here! I have very dry skin, but during the summer, my usual face cream is too heavy. This works perfectly to moisturize my skin without leaving any kind of residue. Yes, it makes my face look greasy for a while, but when I wake up the next morning, my face isn't flaky or tight anymore. It also works wonderfully as an eye makeup remover. My sister bought some too and she slathers it on her feet. The price really isn't that bad. I bought it for $7 about 4 months ago and I am not even a third of the way done with it.
I love this!! The Downtown Disney Sephora did not have a huge selection of glimmers, but I am so glad they had this! I used it without water the first few times and it sank into my skin and disappeared. But when I foiled it (added water) it turned out beautifully!! It has the perfect amount of shimmer and looks amazing. It is my favorite eyeshadow ever!
Had a $3 off coupon, and I wanted a darker lipstick because I was reading a magazine article. I am so glad I picked this color! I just dab it on with my finger and it's a pretty redish color. Not MLBB, because I have light lips, but definitely pretty. My friend who never comments on my makeup actually said "I really like your makeup today. It's really pretty." Which was definitely a confidence booster. A word of caution in applying it straight from the tube, IT IS REALLY DARK!! My sister and I were laughing at how dark it was, almost purple. Plus, the packaging is clear on the top so you can see the color, and has a plastic seal (a lot of lipsticks at Target aren't sealed and that just grosses me out).
Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Go Straight Straightening Brush
Shopaholicx131 11/16/2005 9:10:00 PM
I use it rarely, to straighten my bangs when I have to go somewhere right after I take a shower. I have attempted to use this on all my (long, medium-thick, wavy) hair, and it just takes too long. **Edit Oct. 2** This works perfectly when I use it while flat ironing. It makes my hair a lot straighter in half the time. It's pretty much the same thing as the maxiglide flat iron (with the combing pin things).

I bought this to get beachy hair but I ended up using it for Halloween. I was a witch and I wanted my hair to look piecy and gross. This worked perfectly. It made my hair crispy and I couldn't wait to wash my hair afterwards. It smells pretty good, though.
I have now used this for over a year and I will never use a different foundation. For Halloween, I bought a lighter liquid foundation to be Snow White, and it was horrible. I felt like I was painting my face and I hated how I could see it on my face. Bare Minerals is entirely different. It covers imperfections without looking like you have makeup settled into every pore and wrinkle. I watched the infomercials probably 3 years ago, but I thought it wouldn't work. Then it was on QVC for $21 as a Try-Me offer and I couldn't resist. My family made fun of me from ordering off of QVC, but when my older sister saw how well it worked, she had to try it herself. Now she is using it and has purchased even more products from the line. It just blends with your skin flawlessly, so your skin looks naturally perfect. The secret to applying it is to use a tiny amount. You can always apply more and it is better to have thin layers than to try to put a lot on at once. This is something I am still trying to teach my sister, who ends up with Bare Minerals up her nose. For Reference My color & skin type: 2.3 Medium Beige (golden medium color) & dry My sister's color & skin type: 2 Medium (more pinkish undertones) & oily/acne-prone
Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Quench Body Lotion Extra Dry Skin
Shopaholicx131 11/1/2005 6:24:00 PM
It is a semi-new product, and I had a coupon, so I had to buy this. But then it fell off my shelf in the bathroom and the lid broke (and I have a lot of it left!) and now it squirts out really slowly. But other than that unfortunate occurrence, this is a pretty good lotion. I don't exactly have EXTRA dry skin (except on my elbows) but it is fairly dry. I only use it on my arms, which tend to look very dull when they are dry. The pros: it soaks in relatively fast, the shimmer is nice, smells okay, it makes my skin feel soft and not greasy The cons: doesn't moisurize my really dry patches, does not withstand falling a short distance
Moisturizers -L'Occitane - 24 Hours Ultra Rich Face Cream

I guess I am in the minority here, because I love this! I have dry skin that turns uncontrollably dry in the winter. It flakes off between my eyebrows, in my eyebrows, my nose, my cheeks, etc. I tried numerous moisturizers and none of them worked. They all just sat on top of my dry patches and then flaked off. But then I ventured into my mom's room and used this. Within 3 or 4 days my skin was under control. It is a bit heavy for the summer, but I still love it.
Mascara -Maybelline - Unstoppable Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
Shopaholicx131 11/1/2005 3:34:00 PM
I bought this with a free liquid eyeliner, so I thought it was a steal. Wrong. It was the most disgusting mascara I have ever used. My experience was almost identical to Whatsername712 below me. I had to redo all my eye makeup and was late for school.
I really really liked this mascara, I thought I had found my HG. But I recently bought it and it was horrible. It went on too wet and flaked off a few hours later. It made my lashes clump together and it was not a pretty sight. I am hoping very much that it was simply a bad batch...
Styling Products -Garnier - Shake Effect Liqui-Gel
Shopaholicx131 10/20/2005 10:44:00 PM
I think this is okay. It's not a miracle product, but not horrible either. It did give me more texture, but didn't really control my frizz. Note: I compared this with the ingredients of my curl shaping spray gel and they are identical. I am guessing they just has different concentrations of ingredients because this is slightly thicker.

I really like this. It controls my medium-thick wavy hair while adding shine. It defines my waves and makes my hair just look good overall. I would recommend it. Note: I compared this with the ingredients of my shake effect liqui-gel (extra strong hold) and they are identical. I am guessing they just has different concentrations of ingredients because this is slightly more watery.
Scrubs -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci - Cinnamon Frosting Body Buff
Shopaholicx131 10/20/2005 10:24:00 PM
First of all, the smell is FABULOUS! It smells very similar to Philosophy's Cinnamon Buns (which is the greatest smelling thing ever). Other than the smell, it is a great scrub. It is a really nice consistency and exfoliates well. I probably would not have bought it if it was not on sale, though.
I bought this at a huge sale for $6 and I am very glad I did. I just squirt a little bit of it on a poof (or loofa if you call it that) and it lathers nicely. I think it moisturizes a fair amount, but I still have to use a moisturizer afterwards (but I do have dry skin). Overall it is a great shower cream and I will repurchase in about 6 months when it runs out.
