Lipstick -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Universal Lip Glow
Shamisen 3/24/2012 8:02:00 PM
This is an awesome product - it gives the same lovely pink tone as the bourjois colour adjusting gloss, but this one is not sticky and it lasts longer. It has a slight lemony scent which is a looot nicer than the usual l'oreal lipstick scent. It looks amazing in the tube, like fluorescent plastic.

Lip Treatments -eos - LE Strawberry Sorbet & Passionfruit 2-Pack
Shamisen 12/3/2011 4:32:00 AM
the passionfruit smells wonderful, the strawberry smells like cheap bubblegum. it's not strawberry. it's hubba bubba. aside from that, i love the eos balms - love the packaging, the concept, the consistency... just don't think about the strawberry as strawberry. call it bubblegum and you'll quite like it!

Liquid -Australis - Paparazzi Perfect Foundation
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:51:00 PM
I don't know that I would call this an HG foundation, but I will say it's really good. The foundation comes in a sleek pump pack with a black square lid. Very classy looking if a little bulky. The pump delivers slightly more than I need for a full face so I make sure to not quite depress it fully. The foundation gives a medium coverage. Definitely not full coverage and definitely not cakey. A good amount of coverage to even out my skintone and do a little to cover up blemishes but I tend to go in afterwards with concealer where I need it. I set it with loose powder and it lasts pretty well for the whole day. I wear the shade Nude, I am about NW15-20 but less pink than the mac. I am quite congestion prone and this does not break me out of clog me up. I wear it daily and I am very happy with it. The only downside is the fragrance. It has a floral fragrance which is a little bewildering at first. Now that I have been using it for months I don't really notice it anymore but I admit when I first used it I was thinking "ARE you SERIOUS?" it does smell a bit, shall we say... mature? I like it a lot better than Bourjois healthy mix. That stuff doesn't do much imo. This has more coverage than that, a bit thicker in consistency too. Less coverage than Maybelline dream mousse liquid, which is my go-to special occasion fdn when I want full coverage.

Blush -Australis - Paparazzi Perfect Blush
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:46:00 PM
I have two of these blushes, Screen Siren and Flash It. They are mixed shades with four shades in each blended together. Flash It is EXTREMELY pigmented and slightly shimmery. Very pretty but be careful and use a light hand. Screen Siren is a gorgeous natural peachy glow. Seems to be pretty much matte. I wear it alllll the time. I really like the packaging, the new paparazzi perfect range is gorgeous on the whole. These blushes look kinda premium in their sleek black discs and I love the hot pink metallic writing.

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Bonder Rubberized Basecoat
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:42:00 PM
This is a great basecoat. It extends the life of my manis for a few days on a non-rubberized coat like Nubar Foundation. The only issue I have with it is the colour, it does stain a bit. Not a huge concern for me as I am always painted but for those who aren't it could be a problem. The brush and bottle are great. Nice big bottle size as usual from Orly! I have quite a few basecoats but I pretty much reach for this every time.

Loose Powders -Prestige - Skin Loving Minerals Translucent Finish Mineral Powder
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:40:00 PM
I am using this to set my makeup each morning. I love the finish I get. It's not matte or cakey at all. I was using MAC pressed select sheer with a brush before this, for years and years, and now I wonder what I was thinking. That stuff was so matte and drab looking. This powder has a sort of luminosity to it. It's not shimmery by any means but it's also not flat and matte. I think the shade looks great on my skin too. I'm about NW15-20 but less pink. The only problem is that the sifter seems to let a bit too much product through and once it's through you can't really make it go back. So you've gotta be careful with that. I tend to dab my brush into it and then sort of tap it into the lid to distribute it on the brush, kinda like with a loose eyeshadow. Will definitely repurchase when I run out but I don't see that happening for a long time because there is a LOT of product in the jar.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Green Tea Scrub
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:37:00 PM
I am using this every other day and I think it's great. The scrub bits are much gentler than the regular St Ives scrub but they are not so gentle as to feel pointless. I break out from Clinique 7-day scrub but this stuff is just really helping my congestion around my chin area, and I am very happy to have bought it. Good value tube as well, nice and big, not like some of the DS scrubs!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - A'kin - Rosehip Oil
Shamisen 8/4/2011 7:35:00 PM
I started using this as my daily moisturiser morning and night a few weeks ago and my skin is doing really well on it. My congestion is improving and my overall skin tone seems to be a little more even. Maybe I am reading too much into it? I don't know but I really enjoy using this and I feel like my skin likes it too. I put it all over my face at night concentrating on my eyes and forehead. I don't put much on my forehead during the day because it makes my fringe/bangs go greasy so during the day I use a separate moisturiser there as well. The smell is much better than the trilogy brand I tried years ago too.

Brows -Jordana - Brow and Eyeshadow Powder Single
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:40:00 PM
I have this in two shades, Natural Taupe and Light Ash Brown. I ordered Light Ash Brown first, and although I found it applied really well, I found it a bit dark for me. So then I ordered Natural Taupe and it is perfection. I have been using eyeshadow on my brows for ages now and I really like the look and the application, but I was using the matte taupe from Physician's Formula Fresh Minerals Mineral Wear quad, and these are only available from a makeup discounter that is 30km from my house, and I thought they're going to run out of stock eventually... so I wanted to get something more reliable. This goes on much more pigmented than the PF shadow I had been using so I don't need to use much at all. The colours that I have have definitely got warm undertones. And please totally ignore the online swatches because they are SO inaccurate and they all look pink. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a screw top jar, not a flip top pot. So you have to either hold onto the lid or find somewhere to put it while you're using the product. Not a big deal I suppose. I might depot it anyway and put it into a palette. Good idea.

Lip Gloss -NYX - MegaShine in Natural - 122
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:33:00 PM
This is a nice gloss, the consistency is great, it is wonderfully opaque and I like the cherry-medicine smell. The smell fades pretty quickly anyway. The only thing I'm not sold on is the colour. Whoops! It's a bit light for me because my lips are quite rosy and they are difficult to lighten up without looking weird. Online it looks like it might be a dupe for mac soft n slow but it's definitely at least one shade lighter and at least one shade less pink. I do like that it has no shimmers though. I might try some more colours when I next do an online order from somewhere that sells nyx.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Apricot 19
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:31:00 PM
This is not a bad gloss at all. The colour is an orangey coral, it is not super opaque but it does give a decent dose of colour. It's a pretty small amount of product, only 0.085 oz, but I suppose for $2 online it's not exactly going to break the bank. The smell is pretty strong at first, orange but a very fake orange like orange scented erasers or orange sherbet, it fades pretty quickly though so that's good. I like the pretty tube. I put will not buy again just because I think I like my revlon coral reef super lustrous better, but there is nothing at all wrong with this one. Definitely great for a budget buy.

Lipstick -The Body Shop - Colourglide Lip Colour (Lipstick)
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:27:00 PM
This is a lovely lipstick. I have #63, sunset peach. It's more of a peachy toned nude than an actual peach. It looks very natural and very my lips but better but in a peach version. The texture is lovely, it's a nice firm stick, doesn't seem to be one of those ones which will break off at the base, no shimmer whatsoever which I LOVE and it has just an extremely subtle clean makeup scent. Nothing actually scented I don't think. I bought this with a voucher and I thought it was a bit expensive ($24 AUD) but if I get another voucher I will definitely buy some more of these!

Lipstick -MAC - Hot Tahiti Lipstick
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:25:00 PM
This is great. I am so glad I listened to the reviews, and took the plunge. It looked a little darker than I expected in person so I was iffy. But when I wear it it's like my lips are just gorgeously flushed with a light application, and it's a pretty red with a heavy application. I've been wearing it for two days in a row and my lips are not chapped at all. O______________O this is the first mac lipstick i have had that is completely non-drying. I'll be checking out more glazes, that's for sure!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Coral Reef
Shamisen 2/8/2011 11:23:00 PM
This is the coral lipgloss I have been searching for for YEARS. It's that perfect orangey corally peach colour which goes on semi opaque. So many glosses in this shade are ridiculously sheer. This one has colour!!! The packaging looks so classy and it's easy to find in my handbag due to the distinctive square shape. Also it has no noticeable smell so it's very easy to wear. Great texture. LOVE!
