Update (2/10/13): CS emailed me and let me know that they gave me a refund for this product even though I noticed it was outside of the 60 day window. The rep also said I could email her about my skin care routine. This made me VERY happy! I have never dealt with their CS dept before, but I am impressed so far. Edit (2/2/13): I'll admit my original review was scathing as another member pointed out to me, so I edited it to try to make it more objective. Per her suggestion, I have contacted CS to give them feedback on the product. I will update again when I get a response from CS. I normally only use PC products (except for sunscreens, as her's either make me break out or my face is crazy shiny or pasty white). Here is why I bought it: 1. I get cystic outbreaks sometimes, and hoped BHA9 would clear up the painful and HUGE bumps quicker. 2. I get red marks from those bumps, even if I never touch them. 3. I wanted to get rid of the blackheads on my nose and upper cheeks that I've had since I was a teen....so a good 16 years or so! 4. I have a wrinkle developing on my forehead and was hoping BHA9 would smooth it out. 5. I cannot use any AHA products anymore (breakouts!), or anything with retinol or niacinamide (worse breakouts!), and I suspect the only serum I can use (RESIST serum) was clogging my pores. I saw there was an ultra light water based serum that just came out, but it has niacinamide in it. Darn! I was hoping this product would fade brown spots since the new skin brightener has niacinamide too. I'm terrified of hydroquinone after reading some of the reviews of peoples' skin turning brown from it. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me in all areas. My cystic bumps did not heal any faster, my red marks lasted much longer than they normally do (strange?), the blackheads are still there and it didn't unclog whiteheads, the wrinkle is still there, and my skin isn't any brighter than before. I gave this product about a month using it every night, and my skin only seems to be getting worse. Perhaps it's the stickiness? The pump is awful to deal with. I would barely put any pressure on it and would be able to get tiny little drops and then a second later a bunch of it would squirt out and land partly on my finger and partly on my sink causing me to waste product. I see that PC is getting a lot of feedback on that so maybe they will change it. Sorry for the long rant, I'm just so disappointed after this seemed to be a miracle product for my picky and grouchy skin, and spent $37 dollars on it. My search continues....
I just bought this product in Celestial yesterday. I LOVE IT!!!! I'm kind of a minimalist when it comes to products on my face. When I don't have breakouts I just use sunscreen, mascara, and eyebrow pencil, blush, and clear SPF lip gloss. I was looking for a blush that would give me that natural glow, as powder blushes seem to cling to my cheeks and give me that "hi, I'm wearing makeup" look. I tried this blush this morning, and it gave me a beautiful, natural looking color. It looked dewy, and I didn't notice any sparkles. Even my husband saw it and said it looked great! A little goes a long way, so this blush will last forever. Will repurchase for sure! Edit: I still love this stuff, but it is easy to over apply and get a clown look (for me anyway, I know some people couldn't see any color). Be sure your skin is moisturized too, as this blush will cling to any flakes and make them super obvious. I still love it though!
Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Galderma - Epiduo (aka Tactuo in Canada)

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I've tried other products with retinol in them, and I just can't tolerate it. I stuck with it as long as I could, but it got to the point where every pimple (from a little whitehead, to the inflamed nodules/cysts) was painful. I've never had tiny painful whiteheads like this. I have a nodule on my chin right now that hurt so bad my teeth were hurting (???). If you can tolerate retinol, go for it. It has a good concept. Just not for me. Note: I got samples from my derm, and if you get an Rx for this as for a card that will give you a tube for free. I got that, otherwise it would have cost over $250.
Other -Unlisted Brand - Listerine Total Care Plus Whitening

This is a review for Listerine Total Care ZERO (I have tried the one reviewed here and hated the burning effect, hence I bought the ZERO). DON'T BUY IT! There is no alcohol, so the burning was less...however, it leaves a nasty film on the inside of your mouth. My husband was peeling chunks of white goo out of his cheeks a few hours after using this crap. I tried it once at night and almost puked about 3 hours later. BAD stuff.
I have really dry legs, so I thought I'd try this since regular baby oil is so messy. It was too greasy, and after a few hours I developed DOZENS of tiny pimples on my lower legs. In the trash it went!
Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator

Unfortunately I cannot use this product. I like the concept of it, so I'm bummed. I have discovered I can't use niacinimide on my skin. Every time I do, I get breakouts within a day. Sucky!
Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant

Thankfully I bought a sample size of this first. I used it twice and hated it! It's sticky and slimy and made my skin flake terribly. I was trying to use my BP over it, and chunks of the product (or my skin?) kept flaking off with it. Gross! I did switch to the BHA liquid and like that much batter, although it's a little drying.
Treatments -Redken - Extreme Anti Snap (new formula 2011)

My hair is too short for me to see the ends, however, this leave-in product is the best I've ever used! My hair soooo soft and manageable now!!! Love it! Edit 1/17/13: I don't know if I got a bad batch of this stuff, or they changed the formula again, but I got a sample bottle recently from Ulta and I found this stuff to be thick and gooey and it left a film on my hair. Gross.
I liked how nice my skin looked (the first day) when I used this as a setting powder, but after that I got cystic acne! I threw it out. After about two weeks or so my skin cleared up. Then I found out from Beautypedia that this stuff contains cornstarch which basically feeds the acne causing bacteria on the skin. Ladies with acne prone skin beware!
I LOVE this brow kit! I used a powder brow color once before and hated it so I was hesitant about this kit. However, I'm a huge BE fan so I thought I'd try it. I purchased the kit in Dark Blonde/Medium Brown and I must say the color is perfect! It's very natural looking. I used to use a pencil, but never again! The brush is perfect for applying the powder without making a mess. The gel is awesome too. It has good staying power and did not flake or anything. I will repurchase!
Treatments -Paula's Choice - CLEAR Anti-Acne 3-step System
ShailahJade 7/14/2011 9:20:00 PM
Surprisingly this line did not work for me. Normally I LOVE Paula's Choice products, but not this line. Perhaps it's the cleanser that I have an issue with. I don't wear any foundation, and for some reason when I used the toner, the cotton ball was left looking like I have a bunch of dirt on my face still. I just don't feel like the cleanser cleaned enough. I did like the toner and acne treatment, but they were nothing special. For a lot cheaper I use Neutrogena Acne Defense Lotion (BHA), and Oxy Clinical Treatment (5% BP). EDIT: I found out that it was a medication I was taking that's making me break out. ARGH! I stopped taking that med and my skin cleared up. So this system is good! I still get "dirt" on the cotton ball though. Either way, it's working now so I give it 5 lippies!
I really wanted to like this product...but I think I'm one of those unlucky people who cannot tolerate Retinol. That aside, I gave it three lippies because it is a decent product. It was light and applied well, but I did not like the fact that it balled up upon application, and was greasy within a few hours. If Retinol wasn't an issue, I probably would not repurchase anyway.
Conditioner -Organix - Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment
ShailahJade 6/28/2011 4:07:00 PM
I LOVE THIS! My hair is damaged from constant coloring so I decided to try this. I really don't like other products from Organix, but I bought it for the Argan oil. I'm so happy I did! My hair is super soft and not frizzy at all. The only thing I don't like is having to dip my fingers in the tub. But it's worth it!
This is one of the worst shampoos I've ever used. I was so disappointed because the smell is delish! However, it left my hair in knots and tangles. No thanks.
Treatments -Garnier - Fructis Triple Nutrition Nutrient Spray
ShailahJade 6/24/2011 2:43:00 PM
I like this spray. I use it when my hair is wet. I spray it on, and then put it in a bun. After several hours my hair is super soft. Plus I'm getting ready for a big hair color change so I need as much moisture as possible.
