Treatments -DDF - Amplifying Elixir

I received several generous size samples of this from Sephora and it is horrible! I used it one time and it immediately caused my entire face to become red and inflamed. Five days later (after taking benadryl and applying cortizone 10 to by burning, itchy face) I was finally able to apply make-up and look like a human. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy! It is supposed to amplify the effects of your regular moisturizer and to be fair, my skin is fairly sensitive, but I have used numerous chemical peels with much less irritation.

Treatments -Davines - Nounou Pak - nourishing repairing mask
rated 5 of 5
Scubanikki 12/7/2012 2:31:00 AM

This repairing mask seriously makes biolage look like suave. It is a million times better than any conditioning treatment I've ever tried before. My hair is course, dry, and curly...I process it to death with heat and color. After using the repairing mask, my hair is super soft and curly (not at all weighed down or oily) and doesn't even resemble the typical brillo pad I get when I air dry my hair. I'm not particularly fond of the smell, which to me smells like eucalyptus, but it's not offensive. Also, the packaging seems flimsy for the price, but I'd buy this stuff if it came in a cup with saran wrap over the top. For real...it's that good!

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
rated 5 of 5
Scubanikki 11/21/2012 10:53:00 AM

I received a sample of this from Sephora, which was about enough for 5 applications. First of all, my skin tone is AWFUL! Rosacea, purple bags under my eyes, and broken capillaries around my nose. I also have large pores. I typically use Revlon Colorstay foundation and it covers everything (love the stuff), but it's pretty obvious I'm wearing makeup when I wear it. The first time I appled this BB cream, I wasn't too sure about it. I applied it with my fingers without concealer or powder to set. It certainly didn't cover the bags (nothing does) but pretty much covered everything else. I'm accustomed to setting my foundation with smashbox photo set powder, so skipping this step made my face feel sticky all day :( yuck. The next few times, I applied the BB cream with a foundation brush along with MUFE concealer and the powder...love, love, love! I ordered full size after the first day. I do have a couple gripes (it looks horrible if you have ANY dry skin and it settles a bit into my one smile wrinkle), but it really looks great if you exfoliate and lasts through the day for me if I set it with powder.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar
rated 1 of 5

I received this as a Sephora sample, and it is disgustingly sweet. I don't know how it wears, because there is no possible way I will wear this fragrance! My 10-year-old daughter loves it, and since it smells like spray-on cotton candy, it's much more appropriate for her age group. IMO this product should be marketed to tweens.

Fragrances -Lavanila - Vanilla Grapefruit EDP
rated 5 of 5

As a nursing student, I am not allowed to wear perfume. Not only is this fragrance fresh and fantastic smelling, it is natural. I can wear it without bothering patients and I've gotten several compliments on it. It does get weak after a few hours, but I don't mind. Considering the fact that I have to reapply it to get through a day, I wish it was a bit cheaper. However, I'll bite the bullet on the price of this one because I absolutely love it.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pots gel eye-liner
rated 5 of 5
Scubanikki 7/4/2012 1:57:00 AM

This is the best eyeliner I haved ever used because it stays where I put it, period. It was recommended to me by a sales lady in Sephora and I usually don't take advice of any salesperson, but this really is a good product. I use it mostly to tightline and once it sets, it doesn't budge. The packaging is awful, though. Glue in the lid gets all over the rim of the pot and is pretty messy. I will continue to use it and just fight the packaging because I love it that much.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 5 of 5
Scubanikki 7/4/2012 1:46:00 AM

I have been using this foundation for a long time. I have large pores, oily skin, and an uneven skin tone. This is a full coverage foundation that smooths out beautifully. It is a liquid and sets fairly quick, so you can't dot your face all over then blend it together or it will be a cakey mess. I apply it over one section at a time, first with my fingers, then smooth out with a foundation brush. I use smashbox photoset finishing powder to set, and it stays all day and looks fantastic! For my skin which is fair with yellow undertones, I use Buff in winter and Sand Beige in summer. In my opinion this stuff is dirt cheap and far better than Guerlain Parure, which was comparable coverage but cost $60 and slid off my face in about 4 hours.

Primer/ Corrector -Urban Decay - All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
rated 4 of 5
Scubanikki 7/6/2011 3:06:00 AM

This REALLY makes my make-up stay where I put it. Just 2 sprays and it looks perfect all day long! The problem for me is that this spray causes horrible breakouts. The day after I used it for the first time, I woke up with 2 enormous red bumps. I promptly gave them the excuse of hormones (even though the timing was a bit off) and used it again. My skin isn't very senstive and doesn't usually break out from the products I use, but this was an exception. I'm so disappointed because I thought I finally found the way to keep my make-up looking good in the hot Vegas weather.

Self Tanners -Clinique - Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion Light - Medium
rated 5 of 5
Scubanikki 7/6/2011 2:48:00 AM

This is my favorite self tanner. I have very light skin and I buy this in light/medium. The color is very natural looking and comparable to neutrogena micromist and st tropez, but it's much easier to apply. I haven't had any streaking at all and I get very even color. I wear disposable gloves to apply all self tanners and lotion up knees, elbows and feet (from ankles) For me, the color lasts about 4 or 5 days and fades out nicely (no blotchiness). I can use it on my face and neck without a problem. The smell is typical of a self tanner and there is a little bit of glitter in it, which I find annoying. I just apply it at night because the results are fantastic!

Cleansers -Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
Scubanikki 7/6/2011 2:27:00 AM

This cleanser is probably great for someone who doesn't wear makeup regularly. It doesn't take any of my makeup off, it just rubs it around like a lotion would. I don't see the point in buying both a makeup remover and a cleanser when there are cleansers that do both. I tend to choose long wearing- full coverage types of makeup, so that could be part of the problem. I use this on days that I don't apply makeup and it seems to be pretty gentle and it doesn't aggravate my slight rosacea. I like that it comes in a bottle with a pump.
