Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy

I bought this shampoo due to the recommendation from some beauty mag, InStyle maybe. I have SD, so itchy scalp with dandruff. This shampoo has kept my scalp happy. However, it does leave my fine hair very dry & so clean it squeaks. I'm going to discontinue use due to all the negative reviews because I'm afraid of my hair falling out. I shed a ton anyway, so I might not notice it for awhile. & as someone who had problems for years with thinning hair, I'm not taking any chances. This shampoo also seems to kill the natural curls&waves in my hair. I liked this for my scalp, but it's drying on my hair & too scary to continue using. Luckily I'm at the end of the bottle, so 4-6 months use I'm guessing. I'm going back to using Organix.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Highlighting Brush

I love this brush. I wanted a stippling brush after I saw YouTube makeup videos on the advantages of stippling foundation on. I use this when I'm broken out & want to cover blemishes but not look like I've caked on makeup. I put some liquid fndtn on a hand mirror, dampen the brush & stipple it on. Then stipple on powder & blush so as not to ruin the whole stippling & concealment effect. It works brilliantly. I quite love how it makes my blush look, so this may be my new method of applying blush. Works well for use hilighters as well. I always use this brush when applying liquid fndtn (I usually wear powder fndtn) so as not to feel mask like & troweled on makeup. I'm going to buy multiples of it, that's how much I love it. Good price as well considering how hard it is to find DS stippling brushes.

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Pink Embroidery 663

I was mesmerized by the ads for Dior featuring Monica Bellucci and checked out the lipsticks b/c who wouldn't want their lips to look like hers? This lipstick is 23$, which kills me in price, but it's the most perfect shade ever created for naturally pigmented full lips. It looks like my own lips, but better. Fairy tale perfect lips. It's a very pretty dark pink/mauvey color, but goes on sheer enough to not be too dark - especially since I'm almost albino in my paleness. I wish I could find a dupe of it. But I recommend it, it's just gorgeous. It's moisturizing to the lips or at least doesn't dry them out.

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil

I love this product for removing my waterproof mascara - which is the only thing I actually use it for. I find it removes waterproof mascara better than any other product - including oily makeup removers. I use this at the end of the daily to remove my mascara - I love that I can use loads of it to massage it into my lashes & not worry about the price [so cheap]. That is one of my main loves about it - it's ridiculously cheap price. I remove it with my regular face wash after giving myself giant raccoon eyes - I also will sometimes wipe it off with some toilet paper before using my face wash. Will continue to use this.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Satin Ultra Vivid Fashion Colors Aloe Vera base

I do not use this product on myself, it's for my dad. I dye his hair pretty often since he's 80% grey? maybe more and he has very thick, coarse & resistant hair. I find this color to be very natural looking, it doesn't scream "I just had my hair dyed." In comparison, before I was using L'Oreal Feria [I think] in the double 55N color for resistant gray hair [bought at sallys] and that color made his hair look very matte, flat, and fake - it didn't resemble any natural hair color I'd ever seen. I use the 5N & when I apply it it looks black, so he resembles Elvis while it's processing, but after rinsing & shampooing it out he looks normal/great. It seems to last well for a man who is out in the sun for many hours everyday. I apply the color with a bowl & brush, let process 1 hour. I've been buying this color for 2 years now & will continue.

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Plump Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Scarlett0722 8/4/2011 7:45:00 PM

I bought the waterproof version of this product to wear while I was out in this summer in the deliriously hot weather. I've never worn waterproof before b/c I'm too lazy to want to have to do an extra step to remove my mascara. This mascara worked wonderfully and never strayed, even while I was sweating so much it looked like I was in the shower. I bought the product for its cheapness, don't really need any help w/my lashes since I use Latisse - just wanted them darkened & defined. Only problem is I might be allergic to it. I'm not sure if I'm allergic to the mascara or the baby oil I was using to remove it. I would buy again if I discover I'm not allergic to it. Oh, it also helped keep my lashes curled longer - the curl didn't droop like it usually does.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion For Face & Body, spf 60 PA+++
rated 4 of 5
Scarlett0722 8/4/2011 7:39:00 PM

I tried a sample packet of this from Sephora, I initially liked it and liked the sample of Shiseido cleansing oil that came with it as well. The ss doesn't have a matte finish, it's kind of a natural/shiny finish I suppose. I do have oily skin, so I'm sure that adds to the shine. As for sun protection, it did very well. But I didn't find it esthetically pretty with my makeup. It gave me way too much sheen/shine. I might've used this product again just b/c I love high SPF sunscreens, but I tried the cream version of this & it broke me out horribly! I had 8-10 pimples on my cheeks, nose, chin from the cream version, thus I'm scared of ever trying the lotion again.

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Shimmer Facial Whip in Spotlight
rated 1 of 5
Scarlett0722 8/4/2011 7:33:00 PM

I picked this up at Kmart for a 1 dollar, b/c I've been wanting a highlighter, but not willing to pay the 20+ price tag for Nars. I bought the Spotlight color & a purple-y color of this as well - waste of money. The product separates every time I try to use it - I thought it would just be initially. But worst of all, it smells absolutely hideous. And the smell lasts, I could still smell it on my hands after I'd washed them twice with antibacterial soap. The product feels very oily as well and I assume would cause breakouts. I didn't leave it on long enough to find out - it smelled too bad!!!

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Drysol - Dab-on Antiperspirant
rated 4 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 7:27:00 PM

My dermatologist prescribed me this since i have hyperhydrosis. I was told to apply this to clean, dry armpits - and to use a hairdryer to blowdry my pits if need be. Then apply the Drysol and put plastic wrap over it and socks in my pits to hold it there close to the body. This method is too annoying for me. I now just apply it & then blowdry it dry to reduce irritation/itching. I find the itching it causes when i don't blow dry it will keep me awake. It's really annoying. To eradicate perspiration you need to apply this several times a week. Initially it usually cause irritation & redness for me. It's also recommended to do this on not recently shaved areas - so don't shave the day you use it. Besides it being a multi-step product, it still is awesome and I should try to use it more. I do recommend it, as it works better than any antiperspirant you can buy.

Concealers -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 6:57:00 PM

My mom has been using this product for years to cover her undereye circles & blemishes. I recently grabbed this from her to help cover my massive outbreak. The product is very creamy & thick - which makes it cover well. It's very easy to use since it's fashioned like a lipstick. It seems to last forever, so it is a good purchase. I'll be purchasing one for myself now.

Hair -Sacha Cosmetics - Sally - Hair One Hair Cleanser and Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 5:56:00 PM

I bought this on a whim after watching a Wen infomercial & refusing to pay the Wen prices. I have the version for color treated hair. I don't use this often b/c it's rather time consuming & annoying - you really have to work the product into your scalp in sections as it suggests. I'm oft too lazy to use this b/c of the process, but I have been using it more often to help with my scalp dermatitis. It has helped a lot with that and I like how soft, smooth & moisturized my hair feels after I use it. When you get down to the bottom of the bottle, the pump stops working & you have to tip it upside down & bop it to get the product out. If this product didn't require so much effort, I would use it everyday. It's very creamy & feels like it stimulates your scalp when you use it.

Cleansers -Origins - Clean Energy Cleansing Oil
rated 4 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 5:50:00 PM

I bought this product to help remove the super high spf sunscreens I wear daily - it's a must as I'm very pale & use Retin-A & AHA cream. I like the light smell of it & the packaging is handy when you buy the pump. I use 1 to 1 1/2 pumps for my whole face [excluding mascara removal]. It feels nice to massage it into my face and then foams lightly when water is added. After I wash it off my face feels clean, supple & moisturized. However, I sometimes feel like I still have ss on my face after I use this & my regular face wash. I wonder if there's something stronger/better, besides paint thinner.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 5:46:00 PM

I bought this product, the cream version over the lotion after reading the reviews for it on MUA. The reviews are correct in saying it is more matte than the lotion. I found it to be cosmetically elegant - didn't add shine or oil to my face. It does last well and it didn't interfere with makeup application at all. However, it broke me out terribly. I occurred 8 pimples from it! I take oral antibiotics & bcp, use retin-a and AHA lotion, so there is no reason for such a massive breakout when my skin has been perfect for months. The only new thing in my regimen was the Shiseido ss. It's very unfortunate that it causes pimples for me as I liked it and would have put up with 1 pimple from it, but not a pimple apocalypse on my nose & cheeks. It did make my skin feel a bit itchy now & then. I applied this ss over a light moisturizer [Cetaphil] and removed it with a cleansing oil [Origins] and followed up with my acne face wash.

Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL SPF 60 Fluide Extreme
rated 2 of 5
Scarlett0722 5/23/2011 5:39:00 PM

This review is for Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid that I bought off of amazon.com for a cheapish price of 22$ [maybe less]. It randomly goes on sale on amazon.com. This product made me look shiny & oily to the extreme. Also, it made my makeup look cakey & as if it was sliding off my skin. It is not cosmetically elegant at all. I used this ss over a light moisturizer [cetaphil] and then put my foundation & powder on. It doesn't do well with makeup. Maybe if worn just alone it would be ok, but I don't leave the house w/out makeup on - my skin isn't that perfect [yet!!!]. I wore this product all last summer while outside babysitting for hours upon hours & didn't get sunburned, so that's a plus - I was also wearing a giant hat, which helps. I think this ss does work to protect you against the sun, it just isn't good for combination or oily skin. It may have contributed to some pimples & blackheads/clogged pores as well. And I would always remove it with a cleansing oil then my regular facewash. I'll use up this bottle on my neck and chest.

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Careprost~Generic Brand Latisse
rated 5 of 5
Scarlett0722 1/12/2011 9:40:00 PM

I was skeptical at first about careprost, since it is a 'knock off' Latisse and name brands always hold more clout. Despite this, I purchased 2 bottles of careprost at 11$ each from alldaychemist.com. I've been using it since the end of October, every night applying it to my eyelashes & eyebrows. My method is to put 1 drop into the well in the top of the bottle & then use the very handy eyeliner brush that comes with it to apply. I only use 1 big drop for both eyelids & the ends of my brows. It seems plenty enough, a drop per eyelid would be way too much. During the first few weeks, I noticed a darkening [purple-ish] line above my eyelashes & experienced some itching. Nothing horrific & I no longer experience it. As to iris pigmentation, mine eyes are still green, no change. I'm very careful not to get the product into my eyes, only onto the skin of the eyelid, sometimes I don't even try to get extremely close to the lash line, just within the vicinity. I employ a magnified mirror to help precise application. My lashes before were ok, not awful, not praise worthy and asymmetrical. I noticed results after 6 weeks - my lashes were much longer than before & look splendid with mascara. They touch the curve beneath my brow when they are curled & mascaraed. I'm currently at 8 weeks I would guesstimate & can't wait to see how they'll look in another 8 weeks. They were always stick straight before, but I think I'm noticing a slight curl to them now. I would die of joy if they curled on their own like I hear some people experience. I definitely recommend this product; it feels like such a luxury having enviable lashes at such a cheap price. I will be repurchasing this product always.
