I happened to find this bronzer while on one of my shopping sprees at Ulta, I think they were running a sale BOGO 50% off so I purchased this and one of the nude lip kits. This bronzer is wonderful, it is 3 shades in one so I just swirl my brush around the areas I want to pick up, concentrating on either light, medium or dark or a combination of all 3. The color is a wonderful, healthy matte glow. I was so impressed with this that I went back and purchased a second one to hoard since I hear the make-up is no longer being made/distributed until a pending law suit is settled over the name. I didn't want to chance that I may not be able to get my hands on it in the future.
I am so pleased with all the Cargo products that I have used so far. I started off purchasing the Blu-Ray concealer and powder and was so impressed that I went back to Ulta and purchased the foundation, bronzer, some eyeshadow and the magic brush. This by far is my current favorite foundation. I have been using some Retinol products at night and while I do apply sunscreen as part of my morning skin care routine, the Retinol is causing some redness on my cheeks. Other foundations were not covering well enough and I was having to use concealer with my foundation. This was fine until the foundation would start wearing off before the concealer and by the end of the day i would be a lotched up mess! This product provides a medium to high coverage but doesn't feel heavy or cakey on my skin. It goes on smooth, blends well and sets to a velvet smooth finish. When I look at my skin under a 10x microscopic mirror, I can barely see my pores and the foundation does not settle into my pores. I have been using this in tandem with Cargo Blu-Ray activating primer and then take Dr. Brandt's "Pores no More" primer across my cheeks and nose. The combination of all of these products and then set with Cargo Blu-Ray pressed powder makes my complexion look and feel flawless (trust me it isn't). This combination also seems to last about 8-10 hours with no touch-up.
This has become the one thing I cannot live without, my HG concealer. I have genetic dark under eye circles that worsen with sinus/allergies and lack of sleep. On a good day I layer Benefit's "That Gal" brightening primer then apply Benefit's "Eye Bright" to the inner corners. I then use my Cargo concealer and bam, you can barely see my dark circles. On a bad day i will use the primer and brightener then will next use either Benefit's "Lemon Aid" or Pixi's correction cream and then use Cargo's Blu-Ray Concealer and blend in with my concealer brush using a dotting, blending motion. I then set this area using ELF's under eye brightening HD powder. Either way Cargo's Blu-Ray concealer is a huge part of my daily make-up routine and I can't live without it!
Primer/ Corrector -Cargo - Blue-Ray Activating Face Primer
Saspants 5/19/2013 3:46:00 AM
So far the best primer that I have used and I have tried them all. I use this and then Dr. Brandt's Pores no More on my nose and cheeks to minimize my pores for smoother application of my make-up. My current make-up of choice is Cargo's liquid foundation and I set this with their blu-ray powder for a beautiful, smooth complexion.
Eye Primer -Smashbox - Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
Saspants 5/19/2013 3:40:00 AM
Bought this in hopes that it would brighten my under eye circles, hydrate the skin under my eyes all while filling in the fine lines in the area so that my concealer would not crease. I wasn't impressed at all. This product dried out my skin and made my concealer cake up. It also globbed (creating my own word to describe this) up my concealer creating little flakes and rolled globs of muck. I used to be such a fan of Smashbox products but it just seems like their new products only disappoint me.
Sorry, I just wasn't that impressed with this product. There are others out there that perform better for the same price or less. Not a fan.
I love Sleek iDivine eyeshadow palettes, I currently own over 20 and think they are well worth the money paid, even when buying off eBay. If purchased from Sleek they are relatively cheap even with shipping from UK to USA. The color payout is amazing and they blend like a dream for me. I have also started purchasing Sleek's blushes which are amazing as well. Just wish that this brand was easier to obtain here in the states. I did luck into finding a great seller on eBay and she has been incredible in helping me locate some of the limited editions that are no longer available (Graphite, Curious, Safari, Bohemian, etc) at more than reasonable prices.
Pleasantly surprised by this product. It provided great coverage and stayed all day. Applied over primer and set with mineral powder. Will definitely purchase again.
Eye Shadow -Essence - Quattro Eyeshadow To Die For
Saspants 5/12/2013 12:05:00 AM
Found this quad thrown on a shelf at Ulta, seems as though someone had second thoughts about the purchase and set the product aside. Too bad for them! I picked it up and threw it in my bag without a second thought, I had never heard of this brand and couldn't tell you where this brand is located in my local Ulta. I usually purchase quite a bit when I shop and set this is in a drawer when I got home. I pulled it out a couple of weeks later and used it for a casual nude look to run some errands on a Saturday morning. Wow, I am really impressed with the quality of this little eyeshadow quad. I think it cost below $5 and it is worth that and more. Needless to say it stays on top of my make-up table and is one of about 3 eyeshadow quads/palettes that I use regularly. I definitely recommend this product, I am still trying to find where this brand is displayed at Ulta so I can find some other hidden treasures.
Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
Saspants 5/4/2013 9:53:00 PM
CRAP! That is the best description for the Chi brand straightening iron. These irons used to be top quality but due to mass production the quality has steadily gone down hill. I have owned 4 of these irons and they have all ended up in the trash. The last two I purchased, number 5 & 6, were impulse purchases. Number 5 was broken out of the box and would not turn on so it was immediately returned. Number 6 was purchased when I left my T3 iron at home during a trip so I ran into Ulta and grabbed a Chi. Used it once and it took numerous passes over the same section to calm the waves and frizz. The problem with this is that I have fine hair but I do have a lot of it and going over the same area over and over is very damaging. I returned it immediately and got my money back and used it to purchase a T3 compact iron for travel.
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
Saspants 5/4/2013 9:35:00 PM
This lip balm is great, I apply it every 3-4 hours and it leaves my lips silky and smooth. I have also used it on my cuticles as they tend to dry out since I wash my hands often. I enjoy this product so much that I have numerous tins and tubes throughout my house, in my car, purse and at work. I also put a tin in numerous gift bags at Christmas as a little something extra for my female coworkers. They all loved it too.
I absolutely LOVE this product! I don't understand some of the reviews that state there is alcohol in the ingredients as the package to my bottle does not list this among the ingredients. This cream is smooth and spreads well, I have to admit that I don't use the applicator but rather squirt a little on my ring finger and apply to the under eye area. A little goes a long way and I have notice much improvement with the fine lines under my eyes after using for only 3 weeks. Will definitely continue to purchase and use.
I used to be a Philosophy girl and then switched to Ole Henricksen and now am using a combination of both plus some Vichy products. I used to love Eye Believe but it seems as though Philosophy quit making that eye product and Miracle Worker Retinoid cream for eyes is the closest thing I could find. I love that it smooths all the fine lines around my eyes and fills them in so make-up doesn't crease. I use this first thing after washing my face and then follow up with a greaseless eye cream. Since I also suffer from some pretty dark circles, I use a brightening primer and then apply my color corrector and concealer and set with a micro fine setting powder. No lines or creases and my eyes stay looking great. I haven't tried it between my eyes as another user suggests but definitely plan to start.
Palettes -Unlisted Brand - Khroma Khloe's Kardazzle Face Palette
Saspants 3/28/2013 9:01:00 PM
I bought this at Ulta on a whim, I think I had a coupon or something and I like nude eyeshadow palettes. The eyeshadows themselves are okay, definitely need a primer otherwise they don't really show up on my skin. The colors in the palette look gorgeous but since they are not very pigmented they don't show up well or wear very long. I think the girls need to retool the quality of their cosmetic line and come back with some improvements.
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
Saspants 3/24/2013 12:15:00 AM
After reading so many wonderful reviews on the quality of the WnW eyeshadows I decided to pick up a few palettes to play around with. I have fallen in love! These are not the same quality they were 30 years ago when I used this brand back in high school (yes, I am that old and the brand has been around that long). These shadows are lush and blend like a dream, they go on as a powder but blend like a cream. Comfort Zone has some amazing colors, I would compare the colors in this palette to KVD's Ludwig palette and had them both on the top of my make-up table when I discovered the similarity in colors. I don't use a lot of DS brands but am so glad that I read the reviews and decided to pick some of the palettes up on a whim.
