Blush -MAC - Matte Blush - Desert Rose

I know it looks a little dark/dull in the pan but don't be fooled! On the skin it transforms into a gorgeous bright rosy pink and gives that cute "just came in from the cold" flush. This is a staple product for me.

Sunscreen -Clinique - City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum 25 SPF
rated 5 of 5

This product is quite thick and pasty-looking straight out of the tube when you first put it on your face, but it sinks in in a few moments and leaves skin soft and matte, not greasy or silicone-slippery at all. And although this is not a primer per say, it works well as one because when I put my foundation on over it, my foundation looks nice for the rest of the day. Does not irritate or cause breakouts. However, my mother, who has darker skin than me (I'm an NC25, she's NC40ish), says she finds that it leaves a whitish cast on her face, so I don't know that this would be good for darker skins.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 5 of 5

I'm frustrated with all the negative reviews about this great product. Of course every person can have there own opinion of a product, that's the whole point of all these reviews, but I have noticed that most of the negative reviews of DDML are due to the fact that it was too oily for their oily skin, or not oily enough for their extremely dry skin. This moisturizer is not oil-free, and it's not an oily balm! That doesn't mean it's bad! There is no "one size fits all" moisturizer. It's an oil-based moisturizer for normal-dry skin. So if you have oily skin and this makes it even oily-er, the problem is your skin, not this product! Anyway, this is not for every skin but its a great product that leaves normal-dry skin smooth supple, and comfortable.

Highlighters -MAC - Cream Color Base in Luna
rated 5 of 5
Saraharas 8/10/2009 4:23:00 PM

*This review is for the product used as a cheek highlight, not as an eye base! Nice consistency, nice colour, and easy to work with. For anyone with light to medium-light skin (NC15-NC25ish) don't worry that this product is white, it is sheer on the skin unless you were to slather on a thick layer. And it really is white, not silver, so when used on cheeks it gives a beautiful fresh-and-clean-looking glow, great for daytime or the office, where perhaps a more gold-based highlighter like NARS albatross would be a little too glamorous. May not be appropriate for dark skins.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Select Sheer Pressed Powder
rated 2 of 5
Saraharas 8/10/2009 4:08:00 PM

I wanted to like this product and I really gave it a chance, I used it almost every day for a few weeks, paying close attention to the way it looked in different lighting. But it just didn't work out. PRO: The texture of the powder itself is fine, and it doesn't cake, even if you reapply multiple times thoughout the day. CON: It oxidizes! 5 minutes after application it turns dark orange and makes my face look a little dirty. This powder will not make you look fresh, it will make you look beat! Will never buy again and actually, except for MAC blot powder, I am finished with MAC foundations and concealers. I love MAC for eye lip and cheek products, but I don't trust their colour range for face products, everything is too orange or too pink. I will stick with my tried and true Bobbi Brown foundation and powder. It's expensive, but to me, beautiful fresh looking skin is worth the extra money.

Blush -Stila - Poppy Convertible Color
rated 3 of 5
Saraharas 7/17/2009 3:47:00 PM

This is a really nice colour, and it's ridiculously pigmented. Actually I took one lippy off because it's too pigmented, making it very difficult to use as a blush. And I'm someone who loves a pink cheek, but you will literally look like a clown with this on. It would be nice if you just used a tiny dab of it, but it's a little bit thick and sticky, so a tiny bit doesn't blend that well. Another lippy off because of the packaging. Although the compact is really cute, it's impracticle for what the product is. This should be in a chapstick-like tube so you can apply to your lips for that gorgeous bitten look without staining your fingers pink, which I can't stand! I'm critical of this product, but the shade really is very good, and I'm sure would suit most complexions. If you don't mind pink stained fingers, I would recomend this because it is so beautiful on the lips.

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Skin Foundation SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
Saraharas 7/17/2009 3:34:00 PM

Ever since I started using this foundation 2 months ago I have recomended it to everyone I know. As everyone else has said, this is a light foundation, so 1 think layer will achieve a tinted moisturizer look, and won't cover every imperfection, but will just even your complexion on the whole. However, this is easily buildable. What I do is I apply 1 think layer over my entire face, and then go back and apply additional layers to my "problem" areas. This is a good foundation for all year round, but it is especially good for summer because you don't want to look cakey when you're out in the sun, and this foundation never looks cakey even if you over-apply. The other great thing about this product, like all the Bobbi Brown foundations I have tried, is the good shade range. I have been dissatisfied with MAC foundations in the past because I have always found the shades to be just a little off. A little too orange or a little too pasty/pink. Bobbi Brown foundations are yellow-based. Not orange, but yellow, which is actually very flattering on most complexions, cutting redness and making the skin look fresh and clean. I know it's expensive, but some makeup items are worth the money. $30 mascara? maybe not. But good skin is the most important part of any look, so a foundation that makes your the look naturally beautiful is priceless to me, and I wouldn't recommend a $50 makeup item if it wasn't fabulous.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 5 of 5
Saraharas 3/5/2009 7:45:00 PM

This is my hg concealer. This is designed to be used in conjunction with a yellow based concealer, but I have started skipping concealer altogether because this is enough. The texture is very creamy so it blends easily, then dries on the skin so there is minimal creasing. It will crease a little, but I've never found a product that doesn't. I will never look for another undereye concealer again and will use this forever.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lemon Aid
rated 3 of 5
Saraharas 3/5/2009 7:35:00 PM

This is just a meh product for me. If applied carefully and sparingly it will cancel eyelid discolouration, but it's so dense and thick and dry that it's hard to apply. And if you put on too much you will look very strange. Basically it's a good idea, and it's not a terrible product, but too expensive to be worth it. If you want to fix lid discolouration just use some foundation or concealer. Don't waste your money on this.

This is beautiful. It's pale pale yellow with light golden shimmer and when I wear this I look like my face is being lit by candles everywhere I go. I will use this forever.

Lip Gloss -Fresh - Sugar Lip Gloss - Sugar Rush
rated 5 of 5
Saraharas 2/17/2009 4:29:00 PM

Lovely lovely lovely. I'm not a huge lipgloss lover because I find a lot of glosses are too sticky and uncomfortable. But not this one. It has pretty good staying power but you will have to reapply after eating and drinking. It has a very nice colour that is not too pigmented, but defnitely there. It gives my lips a rosy sheen and brightens up my face. I will repurchase when I run out.

Stick -Bobbi Brown - Foundation Stick
rated 5 of 5
Saraharas 2/6/2009 12:23:00 AM

This is my HG foundation. The range of colours is excellent and it is very easy to apply. Will never look orange or pasty. I think the best thing about this product is the versatility of the application. You can swipe as much as you want directly onto clean skin, and then blend it in with your oil-free or oil-based moisturizer, depending on your skin's needs. I find using my fingers is easiest for this kind of application. is especially good for people like me with combination skin who need 2 different moisturizers for different parts of their faces. You can treat this product as a tinted moisturizer by only blending a little with a lot of moisturizer, or if you want a fuller coverage you use more product with less moisturizer! Then set with sheer loose powder for a flawless finish that looks like perfect skin. I agree that his product can sit on the skin and cling to dry skin flakes, but I find that if I just exfoliate my skin and use an adequate moisturizer this is not a problem. And yes it's expensive, but what can you do? This product makes my skin look creamy and airbrushed so I will cough up for that.
