Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara

For the first few days I was indifferent to this product. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I'm not sure that it did much for volume or length. Anyway, about a week into using it, it started to clump. It was terrible. Getting it off at night involved about 6 cotton balls, vaseline AND Clinique's Take The Day Off. Lashes were falling out like crazy. It was terrible. I'm not sure if I got an old tube or what, but I will never risk it again.

Concealers -Sephora - Cooling Cover Stick in Clair 01

I don't use this stuff for under eyes, so I cannot comment on coverage in that area. But I can say that it is a great concealer for imperfections. It hides the errant pimple very, very well. Given the price, I think it might be one of my new "must haves"

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Matte Eyeshadow Aubergine

Ugh. I hated this stuff. I thought the matte would be a nice change from the usual shimmer eyeshadows, and it still might be, just not this product. The blending was HORRIBLE. I could not get it to smooth out on my lids. I tried it with and without primer and all I got was a splotchy mess on my eyes. The color was a mistake on my part. I love purple, so I thought on a whim, "why not purple eyeshadow?" Awful idea! I am pale and it looked like (after I spent 10 minutes trying to get it to blend properly, and finally left it a "just decent") I was socked in the face. It looked like a two day post-op nose job. The worst. I would have liked to tried the riviera blue, but I think I will search out matte eyeshadow from a different brand as the blending is too terrible to be justified, even for a beautiful color.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser

This cleanser is very gentle so it is good for everyday use. I rub it in with a face sponge for about a minute and then rinse off with water. It cleans wonderfully and takes off all face makeup. I will repurchase.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Pink Grapefruit Eau de Toilette EDT

On me, this scent turned into straight up gasoline. It just didn't jive with my body chemistry. If you can find this anywhere (it's discontinued) and you like the scent, try it out. Due to being discontinued, it will probably be dirt cheap.

Concealers -Clinique - All About Eyes Concealer
rated 4 of 5

This is a great product. You just need the tiniest amount and you get full under-eye coverage. I used to use Benefit's boi-ing concealer, which I loved, but I noticed it has a tendency to dry out before I even used half of the product. I picked this up because it is liquid and I needed another few bucks to qualify for the free gift from Clinique. Like I said, the concealing quality for this product is great, and it blends really well into my tinted moisturizer (benefit's you rebel-light).

Lipstick -Maybelline - Mineral Power Lipcolor ] [DISCONTINUED]

Like the reviewer below me, I also am not much of a lipstick person. I prefer low maintenance glosses. Anyway, I decided I wanted to branch out a bit and I fell in love with the "Pink Pearl" color in the tube. When I put it on, I was thrilled. The color is almost nude, with just a hint of pearly pink pigment. It is super moisturizing and lasts fairly long. The only thing I don't like is that it tends to feather a bit, but that is nothing that can't be fixed with lip liner. Definitely worth a try.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Boi-ing

This was my HG concealer. It blended so well with You Rebel tinted moisturizer and it was the only thing that covered my dark circles. Lately, I have noticed that it has dried out. I use it every day and I close the disc tightly, so I am not sure why this happened. I am going to repurchase and hope that the dryness was a fluke, because I absolutely love the product. With the drying comes a little settling into the fine lines under my eyes, but they are easily remedied and usually do not return once I wipe them. I will update if the my new disc dries out as well.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Plus White - 5 Minute Speed Whitening Gel
rated 5 of 5
SarahKatie 4/8/2009 12:10:00 AM

This is amazing! For as cheap as it is, I expected it not to work, but then I saw it on my cousin's counter and she has incredibly white teeth, so I figured I would give it a try. Well, the results are amazing. One use and I noticed a difference, a few days use and I noticed a big difference. One week and my teeth were as white as I would expected them to be after a professional cleaning. One thing I recommend is getting the full kit. The rinse that comes with it is worthless, but the mouth-tray is a must have. I don't understand how the product would stay on your teeth otherwise. The full kit is more money, but trust me, it is worth it for the tray. I did notice after a few days of 10 minute use (contrary to the name, the tube recommends 10 minute treatments for the first few days if your teeth are heavily stained), I felt a twinge of pain in my teeth. I cut down to 5 minutes each night and there was never another problem. This is truly the best thing on the market. I would even go to say it is better than professional whitening, which I personally have never had done, but I used to work in a dentists office. Patients who payed $600 an arch for professional whitening did not look as good as my teeth looked after a week of using my $5 tube.

Powder -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder - 02 Stay Neutral
rated 4 of 5
SarahKatie 4/7/2009 10:54:00 PM

This is a nice, sheer powder. The scent does not bother me, and I feel it gives me a perfect amount of coverage in the summer, when I really don't need much coverage. It does a good job of keeping oil to a minimum.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Sheer Cream Blusher in Hush! [DISCONTINUED]

I liked this a lot at first, but I eventually got bored with it. And then I feel in love with CoverGirl Cheekers in Natural Twinkle. This product fell by the wayside. There was nothing wrong with it, it just didn't keep me excited, and then finding my HG blush doomed it to obscurity deep in my makeup drawer. I am going to give it to my little cousin next time I see her. There is plenty left in the tube, it lasts a long, long time.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection
rated 3 of 5
SarahKatie 4/7/2009 4:30:00 PM

I bought the trial size at the impulse buy bin at Sephora. I was hoping for some drama for a night mascara. It turned out to be alright. Nothing great, just alright. The brush is big, which is frustrating, but it is not as obnoxiously large as Maybelline Colossal Mascara or Lash Blast. It is easy to get off and flake free, but I still like Clinique's Long Pretty Lashes better. Clinique is less clumpy than this (this is not particularly clumpy but Clinique is absolutely clump free). If I decided I really wanted to go back to crazy drama lashes I would use L'oreal's double extend. Half the price and works better than this product.

Deodorants -Secret - Clinical Strength
rated 5 of 5
SarahKatie 4/7/2009 4:20:00 PM

This stuff is great. Sweat stains are a problem of the past. It does not sting like some dermatologist antiperspirants. It is an absolute MUST to apply this at night, so it has time to seep into your skin and pores. I have it in the "Light and Fresh" scent which I find very pleasant. The only thing I can complain about is the packaging, it is SOOO small. Also the "two clicks" that they recommend often yield inconsistent amounts of product. Minor complaints for a godsend product. Try it out, it is totally worth it.

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
rated 4 of 5
SarahKatie 4/7/2009 4:16:00 PM

This has been a standby since forever. It makes my thin hair really pretty and shiny without weighing it down. The smell is pleasant, and there is absolutely no build up. One 2.26 oz bottle has lasted me over two years and I still have about half left. So although I have been using it since middle school, I am only on about my 4th bottle, I am 21 now. As the reviewer below said, I have had problems with the packaging, it not only leaks out of the nozzle, but will explode under the slightest pressure. Very unfortunate, and accounts for the missing lippy. Otherwise a total 5.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Instant Root Lifting Spray
rated 4 of 5
SarahKatie 4/7/2009 4:10:00 PM

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I like this product. I don't really like mousse all that much (it weighs down my thin hair) so I find this to be a very effective substitute for volume. The smell is pleasant and I think the product is effective overall. It is a bit pricey, so I may shop around when I run out, but I have a feeling I will return to this. I use this on damp hair and then blow dry as usual.
