Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Nicki II
SarahB07 2/13/2013 3:19:00 AM
Many people seem quite put off by the light lavender-pink lipstick that is Viva Glam Nicki II. However what should be considered is all the possibilities/ways to use this shade. Use a darker lip liner (MAC night moth) to create an ombré effect, sheer it out by sparsely applying it to your lips and blending or even apply it in the middle of your lips on top of another darker shade to create dimension. Experiment and have fun. Also, spring/summer is coming soon, so why not have a little fun and try something new! If you are comfortable and happy with a bold lip then forget if others dislike it or think it doesn't go with your skin type/color. As for the shade, it is a light lavender pink with an amplified finish. It is creamy and applies well (second coat is lovely) and has a great lasting power! It can get cakey so make sure to blot or remove some color and slowly build layers. Personally for my fair, cool skin tone I use NYX lip liner in Flower (I like similar lipliners to lipsticks) and build Nicki II on top for the perfect lavender pink pout!

Blush -MAC - Harmony
SarahB07 1/31/2013 9:39:00 PM
I love contouring, it makes my cheek bones standout and sculpts my face. Though I'm quite fair, NC 10-15, therefore most shades of bronzers/contours can be too overwhelming or too fake (orange). I was after Taupe but it wasn't at my MAC store so the SA and I decided on Harmony. It was love at first use! It is the PERFECT shade for people of my skin tone. A little, blended out, acts as the best contouring a girl could ask for. I use my Ecotools bronzer brush to help blend everything out. I even use this blush in my crease for depth and under my bottom lip for a pout! It has not irritated my skin, changed colour or even fade, it has a great lasting ability on my dry skin. Just remember; use a little, blend and your face will be photo shoot ready!

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy
SarahB07 1/31/2013 8:56:00 PM
For over six months I have desired to own this perfume but something would always get in the way. Then today everything fell into place and I was lucky enough to finally purchase. Overall the words to describe Viva la Juicy is sweet and girly. Most apparent is vanilla, jasmine, caramel, berries and mandarines. The scent is strong at first and then lingers for the rest of its duration. Only a few sprays is enough, since too much can push people who are sensitive to perfumes away. Packaging is great, obviously and the price is, well, what you would expect from a higher end brand. SUGGESTION: buy gift packs/ roller balls to save money but still get the fragrance you love.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Lady Gaga - Fame
SarahB07 1/31/2013 8:40:00 PM
I'm so picky with perfumes, never willing to shell out money for a scent that will make me sick or others sick. However then I heard Gaga was coming out with her own fragrance, that it was black liquid and quite the hot topic of 2012. When I first tested it I walked away and was mildly impressed but throughout walking around the store and continuing to smell my arm I knew I was hooked! It smells different each time! Sometimes it is very sweet (honey, apricot), or musky/sultry (incense/belladonna) and sometimes both! Also throughout the day it changes!!! Fairly good staying power and not too strong but noticeable. Doesn't stain clothes; comes out clear and not black!

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
SarahB07 1/31/2013 2:42:00 AM
I love my Angel! A beautiful light pink, frosted with silver so it leaves a wonderful finish on your lips, creating a plump result. It's easy to apply and can be sheer on its own or built up with a liner (I use Rose by NYX) and additional layers. It's a great shade for a neutral day or heavy eye day and even if your lips are dry (doesn't emphasize it like a matte or satin will). Of course the smell and packaging are a score, MAC, duh! Also it's not too light that it washes you out or anything, looks great on most skin tones and anytime of the year!

Lipstick -MAC - Saint Germain (amplified creme)
SarahB07 1/31/2013 2:01:00 AM
This was my first MAC lipstick (a favorite among youtubers, so I gave it a shot). This is an amplified(creamy/long lasting) bright vivid blue pink, it's like an intense Barbie pink with a great sheen. It goes on well, blends well and lasts well (use a lip brush or blot well because too much can cause it to become cakey). Dolly Pink lip liner by NYX works great with it and a little powder/concealer around the edges stops feathering and movement. This is a bright colour but can be toned down by using a small amount. If you like brighter colors go for Saint Germain! I prefer it on porcelain skin and it is great for a standout look.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
SarahB07 1/31/2013 1:33:00 AM
I hated when my eyeshadow would crease...leaving those horrible greasy lines. So I finally tired the highly raved Primer Potion and have never looked back. The packaging is great and the product has no smell, is easy to apply/blend (a pea sized amount), and it WORKS! No creasing, faded colour or anything! The longest I've worn it is 15 hours and it stood the test! The price may seem a little expensive but it lasts a long time, I've had mine for over half a year!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light
SarahB07 1/31/2013 1:26:00 AM
First and only primer! Yes that's a little silly to admit but if something works why change it? My skin is very dry and sensitive/acne prone so when searching for a primer I did quite a bit of researching and realized this one was my best bet (quality/price/hype considered). And it was a winner! Great feeling and no real smell. I put this on after my moisturizer has soaked in for about 30mins and wait 2 mins before foundation application. It smooths my skin, fills in lines and of course adheres my foundation and makes it last for a long time. One package lasts about 6 months and the price is far. Has never broken me out or caused irritation, in fact it's a great barrier between your face and your foundation etc.

Blush -NYX - pinched
SarahB07 1/31/2013 1:12:00 AM
I never really liked blush before Pinched...but gave it a try as I heard it was a dupe for NARS orgasm (and after swatching both I would agree). The colour is a light pinky colour, with gold chunks of glitter. The formula is a little powdery but that's ok because it applies and blends well. The longevity (for my dry skin) is all day. Pinched gives your skin a healthy glow due to the addition of pink with the hint of gold for shimmer. Great for an everyday blush that can go with most looks.

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude
SarahB07 1/31/2013 1:06:00 AM
I love white eyeliner, I love how it brightens and makes your eyes look huge. Though somedays white eyeliner just doesn't "go" or make a natural look well, look natural. A nude eyeliner was needed! Yes there are some from brands like MAC and NARS but those stores are not very close to me. Here enters Rimmel at my Shoppers. I've see these reviewed and was excited to try it cause it is new as well! So the colour payoff is great and it is a warm toned nude, somewhat yellow. The consistency is creamy, easy to blend and lasting. So far it hasn't irritated my eyes (water line) or caused a reaction. It goes well with a neutral eye and an intense eye; it's great for people who think white is too much or just feel like trying a different colour. And the price is wonderful!!!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Vanilla
SarahB07 1/30/2013 7:47:00 PM
I love my vanilla pigment! It is the perfect product for MANY different uses. I use vanilla in the inner corners, as a wash on the lid, brow highlight, cheek highlight, nose/cupids bow highlight, mixing into foundation and even a highlight ontop of my clear lipgloss! The product is finely milled and is a gorgeous golden pinky sheen once blended out as opposed to the whiteness of it in the jar. A little goes a LONG way. This jar will last for years and this justifies the price! A staple for any collection.

Powder -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Transparent 001
SarahB07 1/30/2013 7:28:00 PM
This is one of the powders I use everyday, the second one to be exact. Just a few swirls for the forehead and then a few for the cheeks and then a little more for nose and chin. The longevity is fairly good and keeps my dry skin looking matte (even dry skin can get shiny after hours of foundation etc)! The powder is nice and light weight and doesn't smell bad or strong. The only downside is the packaging...mainly the lid which is ok but sometimes doesn't go on well. Also it isn't travel friendly. But that's it for negatives! Would rebuy for sure!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
SarahB07 1/30/2013 7:21:00 PM
I use this cleanser every morning. I wet my face and massage it in for about two minutes and then rinse. I have dry skin and this does not irritate or cause any problems for me. I have been using and repurchasing this product for nearly two years and will continue to. I can think of nothing bad to say about this product. Super pleased! Also it is easy to find in many different stores so it is accessible and very well priced.
