Polishes -Victoria's Secret - Pink Nail Paint - Love Pink
SakuraPrincess 5/1/2013 12:30:00 AM
I received the Victoria's Secret Pink Nail Paint in the color 'Love Pink' as a GWP recently. Tonight, I tried it out and wasn't impressed. I like the color just fine. It's a nothing special pink. Very girly, almost like a color that would be thrown in a little girl's nail polish play set. The first coat was very streaky, though that could have been due to the cheapo brush. The formula tried to get clumpy on the first coat. On the second coat, it WAS thicker & it wasn't exposed to the air any more than my other polishes are when I use them. Before I applied a top coat, I let it mostly dry & it dried to a satin finish. When I first got it, there was a weird tie dye thing going on on a couple sides of the bottle (I added pics). It wouldn't go away even after I shook it. After I added a few drops of acetone, it pretty much cleared up. I haven't tried it since I did this, but hopefully it applies better. It's alright on my toes for the summer, but it isn't something I'd normally get on my fingers. Unless VS has this on special for a really good price or there is some glitter/holo/funky combo that they come out with that I MUST have, there won't be any reason for me to purchase this.

Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mr. Pumice - Pumi Bar
SakuraPrincess 11/24/2012 12:14:00 AM
I am not writing a review for the pumice bar under the brand name Mr. Pumice. I am writing on a generic pumice bar I found at the Dollar Tree. I've read other reviews on Mr. Pumice, so I know it's under $3 at Sally's, however I am a cheapa$$ and if I can find it for less, I'm happy. Anyways, I've been using the same one for a few months now & have the softest feet EVER! This is even withOUT regularly using lotion afterwards (because I forget to). Here is what I do: Near the end of my shower, I first rub my feet with my hand to remove dead skin- I cover from the ankles down & top of the heel (where the achilles tendon runs down), then I follow up with the pumice. If I remember, I'll put lotion on later later while I let my hair sit in a towel. I do it then so I don't walk it off. That's it. I do it every shower since I still wear flip flops to school & my feet are exposed to the elements, plus I also work on my feet. I've always gotten compliments on my feet & since they're rarely covered up, I need to maintain 'em! :-)

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
SakuraPrincess 4/2/2011 8:17:00 PM
The first primer I tried was UPDD and I was less than thrilled with it. After getting a couple of samples of this from Sepohra, I finally bought a tube. This paired with Benefit's Stay, Don't Stray makes eyeshadows last FOREVER on my oily lids. With the UDPP, I would have a little eyeshadow meltdown that would irritate my my eyes the later it got. I don't have that problem with this and it has lasted me a long time.

Treatments -Boots - No.7 Anti Ageing Glycolic Peel Kit
SakuraPrincess 4/2/2011 8:11:00 PM
I bought this at Target & only used it once, which is why the scores aren't that high right now. The one time that I did use it, I left it on for 10 minutes, even though this is against the directions. I felt a tiny sting for less than a second & then nothing, which is why I decided to keep it on for 10 minutes. I noticed that through the course of the week, my skin was less oily than it was with just my regular routine. I threw away the dish, but decided to try the brush. Yes, it's a total waste. I uploaded a pic to show what happens to it when in use. It makes spreading the product around kind of wonky. I used one pad to wipe off the peel, but I don't think it did much. Boots should rethink the packaging. Sell the pads in a refill pouch like other skincare companies do with their facial wipes. I would rather they shave a couple bucks off the price & not include the brush & dish.

Lips -Avon - Beyond Color Plumping Lip Conditioner
SakuraPrincess 10/27/2009 10:45:00 PM
I just got my order of this product & at a great time to try it out. I am currently sick with a cold, and despite having taken medications, I still have to mouth-breathe sometimes- especially overnight. We all know what havoc that wreaks on your lips- dry, flaky & eww! This was the condition of my lips the first day (Monday) that I tried it. Previously, I was using softlips & had nowhere NEAR the results I had with that as I did with the Avon Lip Plump/Conditioner. My lips are sooo soft and I have only applied it 3 times total. I bought it on sale @$3.99, so the price was nice. I'm not too concerned with the plumping part. I was going more for the retinol since I'm in my 30's & just an overall conditioner. As for the 'color', I didn't notice any on my lips. I will definitely buy this again.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
SakuraPrincess 8/9/2009 1:21:00 AM
I used this for awhile & it was ok. I got a sample of Too Faced Shadow Insurance from Sephora a couple weeks ago & I like it even better! It has a better texture than UDPP & feels less greasy to me (I have oily lids). My shadow seems to last longer with this.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
SakuraPrincess 2/2/2009 11:50:00 PM
I love these strips!! They pull out plenty of the icky stuff on me (looks gross when you look at the strip at eye level with it flat). I used to use the regular ones, but then they came out with the ULTRA's that pull more stuff out. These along with my sc reg make the pores on my nose seem less noticeable. My regime is (recommended by my derm): AM - Glytone mild gel cleanser - glytone step 2 moisturizer PM - same as above, plus - Afirm 3x retinol cream (makes my skin smooth and seems to control oil) Biore pore strips whenever I need them. I think I'm about to add the Bliss Sleeping Peel (now Peeling Groovy) b/c I like to try new things, plus TJ Maxx has the SP for $24.99. Michele ***ADDED 2/7/09*** Below is my recent result...lol...EWWWWWWWWWW. If they aren't pulling much out, you may not have much to pull! Maura, blackheads are the oxidized melanin that's on top of those 'oil seeds'. Yes, the results aren't permanent- you have to keep up with a good skin regimen to do that. When I'm consistent with my SCR, there are ALOT less icks to pull out.
