Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Love Nectar
rated 5 of 5
Sage6o4 4/27/2013 8:29:00 PM

I'm really loving this gloss right now. I've been searching for a replacement for my Gold Rebel from the LE Style Warriors collection but don't think I'll ever find a true replacement. Love Nectar comes close though. I would describe Love Nectar is a pinky bronze gloss, with just the right amount of tiny gold shimmer particles, that add some nice dimension and interest to the actual base colour. It does look a little darker and oranger than it is in the tube, but applies a quite beautiful, sheer peach/pink/bronze sort of mix. What I love most about Love Nectar is that it's pigmented enough to wear on it's own, but sheer enough to wear over a lipstick without over powering the shade underneath. Staying power is awesome too, like most MAC glosses, and I do find that the Lustreglass formula is less sticky than the standard MAC lipglass formulas, and the brush tip applicators also make me prefer the Lustreglasses over the regular glosses. Definitely recommend this gloss to anyone looking for a versatile lipgloss that can be worn with a variety of different looks.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Rapid Tone Repair Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
Sage6o4 4/27/2013 8:06:00 PM

I absolutely love love LOVE this product! First of all, I will admit that I have only been using this product for about 4 days now, but I just couldn't wait to write a review. I think I've found my new HG night moisturizer... I've been using Neutrogena retinol wrinkle repair for the past couple months, but since running out I decided to try this "accelerated" version with added Vitamin C. I liked the Wrinkle Repair, but I swear this stuff is god-sent. First of all, it smells amazing, and the formula is nice and thin but super rich at the same time, just two pumps is enough to cover my whole entire face and neck. As far as results go, I am so beyond impressed. My skin is incredibly smooth, bright, vibrant, glowing and EVEN! When I went to put on my foundation today, I poured out my usual amount, and once I actually looked at my face, I realized I hardly even needed any! I ended up using less than half the foundation I normally use and my complexion was just so smooth and glowy. I can honestly say that my skin has never, ever looked so great. I've also noticed that oilies seem to be much less, I'm usually quite the product snob and rarely rave about drugstore brands, but Neutrogena has seriously won me over! Packaging is awesome too, love the pump and opaque bottle for a light-sensitive product. Two thumbs way way up!!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass in Instant Gold
rated 3 of 5
Sage6o4 4/23/2013 10:05:00 PM

Tried this product due to the glowing reviews here on MUA, I was looking for a replacement for my beloved Gold Rebel lipglass that was part of the Style Warriors line. Unfortunately, Instant Gold just didn't cut it. It's a very light golden colour, and barely shows up at all on my lips and NC35-40 skin. I do like the tiny little shimmer particles and staying power, but the colour was just too light and boring for me. I would say this gloss is pretty average in terms of colour, and very dupe-able.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Texture
rated 5 of 5
Sage6o4 4/6/2013 11:40:00 PM

Really, really loving this e/s lately. I wasn't planning on buying it, went in just to get some Retrospeck, but the MAC girl convinced me to try some of this on, and after seeing it on me I just couldn't leave without it! I'm an NC30-40 depending on the season, right now I'm around an NC30 and am really loving the way Texture goes with my skin. I'm huge on the bronzey-sunkissed eyeshadow looks, so Texture has really won me over. It looks very reddish/orange in the pan, but actually applies like a very rich, warm, medium, almost saddle-type brown. Right now I'm using this in my crease, sculpting all around my eye in a sort of C shape, from the inner crease right around to the lower lashline, with woodwinked on the lid. Another thing I absolutely love is the finish. It's got very tiny flecks of shimmer, they're so subtle it looks almost matte, but the little shimmer particles help prevent it from looking too flat/dry. Texture is a must have for me this Spring/Summer, since it's such a gorgeous, natural, sunny brown colour, but I will definitely find a way to make it work into the Fall. So glad I discovered this! It's a staple in my books now!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
rated 5 of 5
Sage6o4 3/27/2013 8:19:00 PM

Okay, being a total MAC snob since I was 15, I have heard all the raves about Woodwinked over and over and over again, but for some reason, I convinced myself I didn't need it, as it looked kind of boring in the pan, and I already own/have owned pretty much all of the bronzy gold MAC shadows, and both of the UD Naked palettes. I recently purchased Woodwinked on a whim, after the SA put some on me, and thought I should probably try this famous eyeshadow. I am so glad that I did. This is definitely one of MAC's best ones. I would describe it as a neutral, antique cold. Not too warm, not too cool, not too shimmery, not too bright. I like how Woodwinked is a Veluxe Pearl, so it's not too frosty and not too Matte, and the colour makes it perfect to use as a wash, or adding to basically any look to give a hint of gold shimmer without being too obvious, especially since it blends so well. I'm a C4/NC30-35 for reference, but I could imagine Woodwinked would work with any skin tone. Also, I've read this is dupeable to UD Half baked but I disagree, I own both shadows and believe half baked is much more on the sunny warm-gold side, while woodwinked is more of a brown-gold. Side note: I have brown eyes, but I could definitely see this working wonders for bringing out blue eyes! I can't think of any colouring that Woodwinked wouldn't be flattering on, give it a try!

Mascara -MAC - Opulash
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 11/14/2012 12:47:00 AM

I just picked up some Opulash for my first time last week with one of the new MAC holiday eye sets. I was needing a new mascara and am normally happy with MAC so I figured I'd give it a try. Opulash is very lengthening, and holds some nice curl too, it also helps separate nicely, and the colour is great, I have this in Bad bad black and it's very nice and dark. The only hangup I have is that it can clump if you're not careful, as the formula is quite thick, but if you are careful about wiping off the brush, you'll be fine.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipglass in Desire
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 8/21/2011 11:05:00 PM

I found desire to be a very deep, plummy berry/wine colour with just a hint of shimmer, the perfect combo of red and plum. I'm an NC35 and I need to apply this lightly (it's one of those colours that really gets darker the more you apply). I can also only wear this in the fall/winter months because it's just too dark for spring/summer. It is truly a nice berry lipgloss but I can deff see it not working for people who apply too much, who have fair skin or are faint hearted when it comes to their lip colours! Overall a nice shade to have around and as usual, great scent and lasting power courtesy of MAC!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Tempting (LUSTRE)
rated 5 of 5
Sage6o4 8/21/2011 10:55:00 PM

LOVE this colour! I'm really into bronze and gold looks so this is a must for me. Tempting is a light, shimmery bronzey gold colour. It's not your typical bronze colour because it is more on the lighter golden brown side than a rich deeper bronze but it's gorgeous all the same. You can use it as a medium tone in a dark bronze eye or as an all over wash for a neutral, day time pop of brown with some pretty shimmer. I really like wearing it all over my lid with a dark brown in my crease (I usually use bronze from MAC) and the two look beautiful together. It also works great with a real golden orange colour (like amber lights) as well for a real sunkissed look. Great staying power, and great payoff... like all the MAC shadows!

Blush -MAC - Shell Cream Colour Base
rated 3 of 5
Sage6o4 8/21/2011 10:31:00 PM

I'm a huge MAC fanatic and have been looking for a great highlighter for awhile so when KandeeJ kept raving about this on her YT channel I thought I would give it a try, however, I didn't like it very much. Shell is a cool pink colour with white frosty shimmer. It was almost a pinkish brown colour which was okay for highlighting cheeks but not very versatile, it was just too pink! The shimmer particles were also slightly larger than I would have liked. If you are looking for a pink cheek highlight colour and usually wear a similar look I would say give it a try, but if you want a highlighter you can use in more places (nose, inner corners, chin, cupids bow) or like to experiment with different looks I would recc going for a different, more white versatile highlight colour. I exchanged shell for pearl and I love pearl wayyyyy more! I'm really into the bronzey look and the pinkness of shell just didn't work with that. Pearl does though!

Mascara -MAC - Plush Lash
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 8/20/2011 4:09:00 PM

A great, basic mascara, used it for years but never got super attached to it. It is GREAT at holding curl and thickening, but length was a bit meh. The brush is very very huge and fat, so it was a bit hard to work with and really get in there. I really liked how it didn't run or smudge, so overall a good, basic mascara for the price! Although I wouldn't expect miracles!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 8/20/2011 4:00:00 PM

First off, let me say that I am a NEUTRAL girl, so this palette was a must for me. It's got all the necessary colours every girl needs to create pretty much any neutral look, which is awesome. The price is great, you get 12 FULL SIZE eye shadows for the price of 4, (I'm in canada so the price is a bit steeper plus I had to pay shipping but it was STILL a great price) so that is awesome. Having never tried UD shadows before and mostly sticking to MAC I was hoping for MAC quality and hopefully this palette could replace my need to constantly purchase the separate MAC ones... however this is where I took off a lippie. The quality if simply not the same. They are not as pigmented, the colour pay off is not as good and the finish and blendability of them just is not the same. I also tend to get TONS of fallout with them as most of them are just PACKED with glitter and not the subtle, rich way MAC ones are, so in that aspect, I was dissapointed. However, I am still happy I bought it and will continue to use it almost every day, I will also likely repurchase. However, it will not replace my beloved MAC shadows! (I don't think anything ever will!)

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Sage6o4 8/20/2011 3:44:00 PM

A good foundation, but the price is ridiculous. I like the build-able coverage and the silky, feeling it has, it feels almost like a primer instead of a cakey, chalky foundation. It gives a nice, almost luminous glow which I like. I've struggled with foundations for years, constantly searching for the right one and never finding it. I've never re-purchased a foundation before, because they all work horribly with my oily skin! This being no exception. After a few hours of having it on it just starts looking and feeling oily. It is deff not the worst foundation I've ever tried but isn't my HG either. I would give it a 3.5 if I could. The search continues...

Highlighters -MAC - Cream Color Base in Pearl
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 8/20/2011 3:36:00 PM

I love this highlighter! I've been searching for the right highlighter for awhile and this is deff my favorite so far. The golden pearly colour is really beautiful and I love it because it's not stark shimmer white and not too golden either. It gives a perfect almost candlelit glow, the perfect blend of creamy white with just a *touch* of gold. It looks great with any look and I imagine any skin tone. It's versatile colour makes it great to use on your cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow, inner corners... anywhere! I find a lot of highlighters are too intense in colour (too pink, to gold, or too white) making them only usable in one area, but not this one! I also love that the shimmer is subtle enough to not be chunky glitter but also enough to be a great highlight as well. It's exactly what I was looking for! I apply it with my 187, I love it! The ONLY hang up I have and the reason why it didn't get a top score is because the staying power sucks. I have oily skin (it's also summer!) and this tends to fade quickly. Otherwise, I am in love!

Mascara -MAC - False Lashes
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 6/11/2011 2:54:00 PM

Love this mascara! I have been using plush lash for years but the MA at MAC recommended I try False Lashes and I don't regret it! The brush is pretty small and I like how it really gets "in there" unlike the plush lash brush which is huge! I get a very nice "feathery" look from it. I find it separates very well and lengthens well also. HOWEVER, it can be slightly messy, and will deff smudge on some people. It also isn't the greatest at holding curl. So I would recommend only buying this if you already use/have a good primer or are willing to buy one.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Grapeseed oil
rated 4 of 5
Sage6o4 6/11/2011 2:49:00 PM

Love grape seed oil! Lighter than EVOO but nothing will ever replace EVOO in my books! Haha. Seriously though, I love using grape seed oil for shaving, and all the other uses that EVOO does (removing eye makeup, etc) See my review for more! If you find EVOO too heavy I highly reccommend giving Grapeseed oil a try!
