Conditioner -Rene Furterer - OKARA, Protect Color 2-Phases conditioner

This leave-in conditioner is real trouble in a bottle. I bought this because I like to use leave-in conditioners instead of the rinse out ones, because it is much faster and most of the time they do a better job. With the first use this left my hair very frizzy, it is full of silicones and my hair does not respond good to silicones. At the same time I noticed a few cysts in my neck (have not had that for a long time). With a few more uses I started to get more itchy pimples in my neck and a few days ago I discovered a dermatitis patch in my neck. So yesterday I checked the ingredients in Skindeep and the result was an 8, which is very bad. It makes me very angry that brands positioning themself as kind of natural or good for hair and scalp, while pumping them with harmful ingredients, will not buy anything from this brand again! Water, Cyclomethicone, Citric Acid, Dimethicone, Laureth-4, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzophenone-4, BHT, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Cetrimonium Chloride, Citral, Citronellol, Ethylhexyl, Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance (Parfum), Glycine Soja Protein, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf extract, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylparaben, Panthenol, PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone, Pentaerythrityl, Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Polyquaternium-22, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Uncover Skincare - Cleanser normal to dry skin
rated 3 of 5
Safin 5/1/2013 4:11:00 PM

I have oily, sensitive skin prone to breakouts and dermatitis. I Always choose cleansers for dry sensitive skin, because the ones for oily skin are way too harsh. I have problems finding a cleanser for in the shower (water soluble) that doesn't dry out or irritate my skin too much. This cleanser does not dry out my skin and cleanses well, the ingredients are safe, but somehow it does irritate my skin. Already while applying it, my skin starts to tingle, especially my lips (as if they are anaesthetized), very strange, but it happens every time I apply it. The second con is the package, it is a pump, but does not work at all, you have to pump about 12 times, before you have enough product on your hand to apply. Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Sucrose Polystearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, p-Anisic Acid, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Lecithin, Phenethyl Alcohol, Citric Acid.

Lip Treatments -Dr. Hauschka - Lip Balm - stick
rated 1 of 5
Safin 4/22/2013 6:37:00 AM

I like the smoothness of this lipbalm when applying this, but as with many Dr.Hauschka products, the ingredients irritate my skin. Dr.Hauschka is just not for people with sensitive skin. They use irritating fragrance oils like; Fragrance/Parfum (Essential Oil), Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral and Linalool. So after an hour this lipbalm makes my lips burning, dry and red. Plain vaseline does a better job.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Uncover Skincare Exfoliant
rated 5 of 5
Safin 1/24/2013 11:42:00 AM

My skintype is oily, sensitve, acne prone and seb. dermatitis prone. I have tried BHA products from Paula's Choice before this and my skin didn't like them at all, so I was a little scared to start with a BHA again. But this product is great, my skin became a nice glow, feels softer and pimples disappear faster than normally. My skin is not completely clear yet, but I use it only for a month now, so I hope it will improve a little bit more. I use it every other night. Compared to the Paula's Choice this is much more gentle, doesn't dry out my skin and has a lot of anti-oxidants and anti-irritants in it.

Styling Products -Rene Furterer - Mousse Vegetale
rated 3 of 5
Safin 10/15/2012 1:56:00 PM

My hairdresser is working with Rene Furterer, so I buy sometimes something from this brand. Till now I am not impressed. My hair is fine and long, I wanted one styling product to use when I style my hair with a bit of a curl that gives me hold. She adviced me to buy this, because it styles, protects and gives volume. Well it does not all of that, it does not give me the hold I want, but it does give volume and more grip. I am confused about this mousse and don't know if to buy it again.

Shampoo -The Body Shop - Ginger Shampoo Normal/Dry hair and Loose Dandruff
rated 4 of 5
Safin 10/1/2012 1:26:00 PM

My hair is fine and long, with dry ends and oily scalp. I do have SD now and than, that I manage with the use of a dandruff shampoo once a week. The active ingredient in this shampoo is Piroctone Olamine, what is a mild ingredient, so your hair does not become too dry. For me it works very well, my hair becomes shiny and soft and free of SD. You do need a conditioner after, but that is normal. What I don't like is the harmful ingredientlist, it gets 7 on skindeep..

Shampoo -Yes To Carrots - Yes to Tomatoes Daily Volumizing Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Safin 10/1/2012 1:02:00 PM

First of all, I think the Tomatoes hair line will be discontinued, because it is not mentioned on the website anymore. My hair is fine and long, with dry ends and oily scalp. This is a very good shampoo, not volumizing at all, more moisturising. I use the conditioner also, and the combination makes my hair very soft, but my scalp becomes oily too quickly. The safety of the ingredients is absolutely a pro.

Shampoo -Head and Shoulders - Sensitive Care
rated 3 of 5
Safin 8/11/2012 3:33:00 PM

Why oh why did I bought this shampoo. I have very sensitive scalp with SD sometimes. I hoped the pyrithione zinc would be good to solve my problems with dermatitis and scalp acne. I haven't used shampoo with silicones for years and now I know why, this is so loaded with silicones, that it makes my hair very coated, flat and limp. Besides that my scalp becomes very itchy, the shampoo is loaded with sulfates (even sodium lauryl sulfate!), it think that's why. Will not use and buy again.

Cleansers -Paula's Choice - RESIST- Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
Safin 7/29/2012 5:05:00 PM

I use the Aloe Vera Cleansing Cream from the Body Shop for years. The problem with that cleanser is that you have to use it on dry skin. After sports I prefer to use a cleanser that I can use in the shower (on wet skin), so I bought this. My skin is sensitive acne rosacea prone and oily. I don't use a lot of make-up, just mascara and some blusher. I use this cleanser for 3 weeks now and for me it cleanses perfectly. But I realised today that the breakouts and dry skin that I experienced the past weeks are due to this cleanser, because it is the only thing that I have changed. I get more and more P&P, my skin looks red and I have an eczema rash in my neck, what I normally never have. Actually I could have known because my skin is always reacting bad to cleansers that have sulfactants in them, but I hoped that the decyl glucoside would be fine, but it isn't. Back to the Aloe Vera Cream Cleanser, again.

Mascara -Clinique - Naturally Glossy Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Safin 7/5/2012 1:27:00 PM

This is indeed a very natural mascara and does not irritate my eyes in any way. Never clumpy and I can 'style' my lashes in every direction I want. I give it a 4 because sometimes I have the feeling that I don't wear mascara at all, because the effect is very little (I have dark long lashes from myself also).

Treatments -Aussie - New 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor
rated 3 of 5
Safin 5/29/2012 12:34:00 PM

This product seems so hyped, for me it didn't do anything special at all. My hair is dyed, long, oily at the roots, and very dry at the ends. This acts as a normal conditioner. My hair becomes a bit softer, but still looks very frizzy. It is lightweight, so my hair does not become extra greasy, so that is a pro. There must be better treatments on the market, so I will not buy again.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant
rated 2 of 5
Safin 4/7/2012 9:04:00 AM

All my life I have clogged pores and those strange sebum plugs. I started to use a muslin cloth to remove my (cream) cleanser a year ago and that improved my skin a lot. But I still wasn't satisfied about the smoothness of my skin and the clogged pores, so I wanted to try BHA. I bought samples from the 2% BHA in all the variations of Paula's Choice and I thought that the lotion would suit me the most, but it didn't. The lotion broke me out all the time, I checked the ingredientslabel and Cetearyl Alcohol was one of the first ingredients. Cetearyl Alcohol is a known pore clogger and I have used a product before with this ingredient and that broke me out also, so that must be the cause. I didn't liked the consistency of the liquid, so I ended up with the gel. I use it ones or twice a week at night, it is not a miracle worker, but my skin looks better and I break out less and my pores seems clearer. I bought the pump bottle a month ago and I think it lasts forever. Yes the gel is sticky, but less is more in this case, so don't use too much. Update May 2012: After about 5 weeks, this BHA started to cause breakouts every time I used it. My face felt soft but with more and more pimples, such a shame. I think BHA is not for me, I stick to the muslin cloth, my face can tolerate that.

Shampoo -Eucerin - Shampoo 5% Urea
rated 3 of 5
Safin 3/20/2012 2:41:00 PM

This is indeed a very mild shampoo. The texture is very thick (hard to apply) and it feels comfortable on the scalp. I have dry hair with a sensitive scalp, but I also have seb derm now and than, so I have to find a shampoo that doesn't irritate my scalp, doesn't make my scalp oily (causes buidup) and cleanses good enough. This shampoo doesn't irritate my scalp, but it it is too heavy (moisturizing) for my scalp, so the seb derm and itch became worse. I think this is a perfect shampoo for sensitive/dry scalps, because it is also frangrance free, but not okay for me. Aqua, Sodium Myreth Sulfate, Urea, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Coco-Glucoside, Laureth-9, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl, Palmate, Glyceryl Oleate, Panthenol, Lactic Acid, Polyquaternium-10, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Salicylate
