Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Cyndi [DISCONTINUED]
SPACEGIRL1000 2/21/2010 7:42:00 AM
I am in LOVE with this color! I am fair with green eyes and dark hair and I only wear blue based baby pinks or pastel pinks. There was no way I was even going to bother with this color since i hate any type of warm color or red/coral color. Then i saw a review on you tube and ordered this- BEST decision ever! After ordering 4 of the gaga color site unseen and realizing what a horrible mistake I made (very UNwearable), cyndi was my comfort :) It is a very sexy, sheer yet buildable, redish/coral yet not really as warm as I thought if that makes sense. I can even detect some pink in this. It lights up my face but is far from being too much or over the top. day or night- this lipstick will make you look amazingly beautiful. The formula is great, long lasting, does not settle into lines or accentuate dryness. I typically need to wear alot of make-up in order to look good but with viva glam cyndi- all i need is concealer&mascara and my whole face looks done. The best part is that this is such a universal shade regardless of skin color or make-up look. I also wore it with a smoky eye and it looked great as well. Usually one would stay away from a color like this when wearing a heavy eye but the sheerness of this color makes it work. Like I said before- a few layers of this and your very hollywood glam too! My only regret is that i did not order 4 of these like i did with gaga. I am so surprised the gaga color sold out within a couple of days as the cyndi color is much more universally flattering. I think the website does not do this color justice so I am glad i saw it on you tube. Mac should make this color permenant as there is no other color like it in their line (however there are dupes of gaga). This lipcolor has to be the best purchase I have ever made!

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga
SPACEGIRL1000 2/21/2010 7:29:00 AM
I LOVE bubblegum pinks and cool, bright blue based pinks so as imagine how excited i was when I saw this launch. I immediately ordered 4 of them online site unseen and boy was that a HUGE mistake and waste of money! I typically wear cool baby pinks and have all the mac pinks such as snob, lovelorn, st.germain, pink nouveu, creme cup, speed dial, etc but this is just as unwearable as st.germain is in my opinion. I am fair skin with green eyes and dark hair and where as this type of color usually looks amazing on me- it made me look corpse like. As on reviewer said- it DOES look like pink mixed with white out lol. First off it emphasized every crack in my lip and settled into lines. I even tried it many ways- with balm underenth, gloss on top, waited for it to absorb and then add balm/gloss, with and without a lip brush, etc but all methods failed. It just looked very chalky. The ONLY way i could get it to work is if i put pink nouveu on first and then this over it (as suggested on the mac web site) and mabey if i use lots of balm and a super light layer of this but overall- very hard to pull off. Yes it is pigmented and long lasting but the chalky-ness and uneven wear make it too awful too even bother with. I am surprised that a luster formula is this bad. I am so broken hearted and not to mention out of $70 now since i went crazy ordering so many! I also want to say that as yet another reviewer mentioned this does make your teeth look yellow which is a major turn off! I will try to use it as a topper so that it won't go t waste but this was a bad investment being that i cannot just use it as a regular lipstick like I anticipated. One last thing- Viva glam cyndi was a color i refiused to bother with as i ONLY wear cool toned pinks and hate any kind of warm coral/red BUT i caved in an it is extremly wearable and beautiful! Makes my teeth white, sheer but buildable sexy pop of color and very sexy! it's ashame i didnt order 4 of those instead!

Concealers -It Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye
SPACEGIRL1000 8/24/2009 4:05:00 PM
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I am so disgusted with this product! I am a make-up artist and i am very skilled at applying concealer but this was one big greasy disaster! I dont understand all the good reviews?! First off- it is very greasy and sticky! I read the ingredients and did not notice any petrolium or anything close to it but there is something on there that makes it super greasy, shinny and heavy. I tried many diffeent ways of applying this and nothing worked. It left a damp, sticky feel to my skin- like it never fully dried or set. I only used a tiny bit too! The worst part is this- if you wear liner or mascara the grease in this concealer will attract the liner/mascara and you will end up with serious racoon eyes. this concealer is a magnet for making your eye make-up stick and slide all over the place. It feels as if you have crisco on your face. i touched under my eye hours later and there was a finger print left there! This stuff is like silly putty lol. It just slides all over your face and never dries to a nice finish. Plus that high metallic shine make you look like the tin man!

Misc Beauty Tools -beautyblender - the sponge
SPACEGIRL1000 4/19/2009 12:16:00 AM
I hate to be the negetive one but for the very few of you ladies who gave this product a bad review- yes you were right! I am shocked that at this very moment only 11% of us said we would not buy this again because in all honesty this product did NOT deliver.I immediatly ordered 2 of these kits being that it was proclaimed a "holy grail" product and i am so angry- total waste of money! First off, i want to say i have read every single review on this board as well as about 100 posts on qvc about this product and even watched the tutorial many times. I have been a makeup artist for over 10 years so i consider myself to be an expert at make-up application. This sponge is a useless tool. Brushes are better, more sanitary and much cheaper. I literally used 4 times more product because this sponge just sucked up and absorbed all of the concealer/foundation yet still leaving me with sheer coverage. Yes i used it wet and stippled by the way. With my concealer brush and just a tiny amount of concealer i am able to conceal ALL of my imperfections and dark circles. With beautyblender so much product was wasted and not enough coverage. I also tried this with cream blushes and it was horrible. I lightly dabbed the cream blush on and right away all the makeup i had underneth came off and i got uneven blotchy blush application. The ONLY thing this works well for is highlighters. I took the advice of someone who in their review of this product mentioned she used pigments with it and that it was amazing (or a word similar to amazing lol). Well while i wouldnt say it was amazing it was still beautiful. I dabbed the pigment on- it was actually a becca product similar to mac pigments. It was a light goldish highlighting color and the dampened sponge really did make a world of a difference. Only problem- i had to use a TON of product- this time about 10 times more lol. The effect was pretty but i cannot see myself spending $44 on one kit for just a highlighting tool- not to mention the amount of product i would waste (being that these becca products are expensive and they are the only powders i use). Last i want to stress the most important concern that i have which i am shocked no one here has mentioned.....BACTERIA!!!! I wash this everytime of course but my problem is this: dipping a damp/wet sponge into my pots and jars of cream blushes will eventually cause contamination and breaking down of the product. Cream blushes such as nars, bobbi brown, etc are not meant for wet sponges to be dipped into them and this moisture/water in my opinion will change the product. I would have appreciated a tool that could work dry because i don't want to ruin my expensive blushes by contamintating them. Packaging is horrible and highly unintelligent. I watched the tutorial where they showed you "how to remove it" which alone states how ridiculious this is. The sponge is housed in a cacoon of very sharp plastic points that looks like it is nestled in a claw. I followed the directions and pushed it from down under so that it would'nt tear but i still had tears in all 4 of my sponges due to the sharp plastic points that were jabbed into it while packaged. Why make a product that a) will tear very easilly due to it being housed in sharp hard plastic and b) needs a tutorial to watch on how to remove it. Talk about issues. If the creators were smart they would have invented something packaged nicely yet non-damaging. I really think this is a novelty item that is all hype and if anything just makes you feel good to be part of this trend. I am not trying to insult anyone who praises this because in all honesty- i wanted to be part of this trend too lol. I just need something that gives me coverage without wasting product and as far as i am concerned this is equivilent to all the other cheap dollar store sponges out there only it's pink and pretty!

It flakes like you cannot imagine but the loss of my lashes was the worst part. They should pull this off the market!

Eyeliner -Smashbox - waterproof shadow liner in Hollywood
SPACEGIRL1000 12/31/2008 7:22:00 PM
Very disapointed with this product! I was so excited as i love the concept of shadow liner and yes it does give you that beautiful smolder that lasts all day. the problem? Many problems....First- it dried out after just 2 uses! and yes i closed the jar very tightly and wipped the brush before each "dip" to make sure that i didn't get any powder/shaodw into it (as that would dry it out as well). I was so careful with this product and there is no way that it should've dried out after using it twice but this also happened to me with their jet set liner too! next, it flakes horribly! I had chunks of flakes that fell into my eye and it was very painful being that this has a drier consistancey. Another thing is that while you don't see any glitter chunks in the jar- there is TINY glitter particles in this product and as you blink throughout the day- pieces will keep falling into your eye and on your face leaving brown dots all over that are very hard to remove. I am searching for a substitute because all the other shadow liner that i have tried are not dense enough and don't have the great pigment that these smashbox shadow liners have. Mabey i will try another color but i read on here that the fan club color did the exact same thing so mabey it really is the formula and not the color.

Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow Liner in Bunny Hop
SPACEGIRL1000 11/17/2008 10:37:00 PM
I first have to say that while i hate benefit cosmetics- the ONLY thing i love are the creaseless cream shadows and i mean LOVE! I have a few of there colors and they really deliver. This color however was a major disapointment. I like the other 3 reviewers also got it for free from sephora during a promotion but i sure would be pissed if i had paid for it. Like the reviewer below me said the color is non-existant! There is nothing but a transparent clear sheen. Very strange considering it looks champange peachy pink in the pot. I even tried adding on several layers of it to make it darker but instead made a mess of it. I am going to try to use it on my cheek bones as a highlighter so that it won't go to waste. No wonder they were giving this away for free! Don't let this color turn you off to the product though because all the other colors are great! The have intense pigment, don't crease, last all day and you don't even need an eye base! Also, if you want a nice champange color for all over the lid- try r.s.v.p.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Rapture Eyeshadow & Brush Collection
SPACEGIRL1000 11/1/2008 4:08:00 PM
SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!!! What NERVE to produce such crap. Very poor quality, absolutly NO color! ZERO pigmentation. Dollar store quality if that. This is a slap in the face to customers. What an insult it is to sell us such garbage. Each shadow was like putting on sheer translucent powder no matter what color you choose! (if you can even call them colors). Once again smashbox failures to deliver.

Mascara -Fresh - Supernova
SPACEGIRL1000 10/20/2008 9:53:00 PM
I am so shocked at some of these reviews. I am a makeup artist and swear by supernova for it's my holy grail mascara. I have never had a problem with it flaking or smudging- in fact i even cried in it and it stayed put! I use 2 coats and i get very glossy, full lashes that are touchably soft!. Tremendous volume and great length. My lashes are never hard or crunchy and stay beautiful all day. The best part is the packaging. Supernova is the only mascara that comes in an alluminun tube (wait let me correct- a few months ago tarte became the second to use the alluminum tube) and thats what keeps the mascara fresh and so long lasting. If you notice even mascara's that appear to be in alluminum tubes are actually in plastic and most of them dry out so fast which is why i always use to replace my mascara every 2 months. With supernova 5 months later it's still just as fresh and wonderful as it was in the begining and i thank the alluminum tube for that! The brush is excellent. It seperates, defines and gets every lash. It really works wonders for volume. I think the people who have had this mascara smudge are either wearing eye cream underneth or a oily/emoilient concealer which can sometimes attract mascara. (I always wear eye cream only at night which is why nothing ever really smudges on me). This mascara also has some very luxe/high quality ingredients. Not cheap ingredients like other brands.

Mascara -Tarte - Lash Hugger Mascara
SPACEGIRL1000 10/18/2008 2:47:00 AM
Ok so origionally i was the 2nd person to review this product but my opinion has taken a 360 degree change so i just totally deleated it and decided to write a new one. I honestly thought this was my holy grail because while i have always been loyal to fresh supernova- this one was cheaper and easier to remove. I HAVE to put on 4 coats in order to have that lash drama where as with fresh, i only need one coat for the exact same effect. While that means that ultimatly lash hugger will eventually cost me much more money since i need to use 4 times the amount- i still was in love because of the super glossy look, soft lashes and how it amazingly just washes away with soap and water. (yes ladies no makup remover needed just cleanser and it all comes off like a dream) With all that said this is why my love affair has since ended: I purchased another and it was nothing like that first tube. I couldn't layer it because it would get all weird on me- like it would no longer layer beautifully without clumping. Instead the 3-4 coats would still give me minimum lashes and then it would dry and leave me with crunchy and stiff lashes. NOT typical. I exchanged it for a third and the same thing happened :( Why i ask????? It could NOT have been a different formula, an old batch or opened- because i got it straight from the warehouse. I have tried everything and nothing ever went back to my original results and so i grieve and suffer my loss. I bought one for my mother to see id she would like it since she likes the natural clinique look. What a shame that i can't get that 4 layer lash drama like i did the first time. I am now back to my fresh supernova- for the extra $7 i get more of my money's worth. Oh supernova thats what i get for cheating on you! lol. P.S- if you like the natural lash look then tis is for you. Great formula, excellent brush, seperates and the alluminum tube keeps it fresh for ages so please don't skip it if you are a natural lash girl but iof you love darma like me then look else where.

Concealers -Laura Geller - Creaseless Concealer
SPACEGIRL1000 10/7/2008 11:00:00 PM
What a failure this product was. I am fair-skinned (be fairly light) and have med dark circles. I usually use lancome effranes or estee lauder double wear concealer which have never failed me with excellent coverage but the color matches are either too white or too pink. I decided to try laura geller because it was the yellow undertone i was looking for. It did NOT have enough coverage and was VERY GREASY!!!!! It left a disgusting oily film that made me look shiny and gave my skin an odd deathly ill coloring (I also used it on the sides of my nose where i have redness). I keept clicking the pen and more and more of this clear grease would come out with a little bit of yellow. It also creased big time. I am only 28 yet it mad me look like i had wrinkles. Everything the product claims to do it fails on. Now let me say this- laura geller is an amazing and exceptional person. I called her studio in ny (where i live) to tell her my disapointment and they said that my experience regarding the oil/grease was not typical so they sent me another product free of charge (didn't even ask me to send mine back). They did this as a token of customer loyalty so that i would give this product a second shot but the exact thing happened yet again. I feel bad giving this product a negetive review due to the kindness of laura geller but i have to be honest in my review and express my displeasure. Try her shadows though because they are amazing and her balance and brighten is a fairly good product too.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - estee lauder Signature Lipstick Tender Mauve
SPACEGIRL1000 8/14/2008 3:41:00 PM
What a weird experience this was. First i must say that I use to freelance for estee lauder and while i did like alot of their products- their lipsticks never impressed me. I found that they always smeared, lots of bleeding, some had no staying power while others had zero pigment. No matter which lipstick they came out with or how pretty the colors looked- they always failed me. When the new signature lipsticks came out, i was attracted to the colors but questioned the quality. i saw tender mauve and tried it on my hand. It appeared to be a beautiful baby pink. Not a pastel white baby pink but more like a soft pinky mauve. It definitly had color and pigment but not scary bright, neon or super pale. It wasn't a non-existant color that barely showed either. It was a smooth color with shimmer that wasn't over the top. I didn't buy it but instead got it as a free gift with my order on esstelauder.com! I was however disapointed :( When i received it and immediatly put it on i felt a very gritty texture. Like chunky glitter that was not obvious in the tester. It also didn't show up as this beautiful baby pink/mauve but as a pinky coral instead. It smeared everywhere too and did not apply evenly. I even double check to make sure this was the same precious tender mauve that i once admired. I remember one of my manangers telling me that there was a difference between the free gift lipsticks and the ones that you buy. She said the retail ones are made by hand with a torch flame and the process is different versus the free gift ones that are mass produced with "cheaper" quality and production. Mabey thats why these 2 were totally different? Who knows but i am not willing to find out for $20.

Treatments -Frederic Fekkai - Salon Glaze
SPACEGIRL1000 8/2/2008 11:31:00 PM
Holy grail hair product! First off i have to say that i have VERY frizzy curly unruly hair. It's not a pretty curly but an ugly curly so i am forced to flat iron everyday which is torture to my hair. I also have very oily roots so when i use conditioner- by the second day i am a greasy mess and the 2 hours i wasted straightening is down the drain. I am also very careful with what i put on my hair because after loosing my hair from chemo- i am over protective with what i put on it now that it's grown back. Now lets get to how amazing this product is. I never thought my hair could be this shiny and as beautiful as the pantene commercials yet NO build-up and NO oil/grease- how is this possible???? I apllied a small amount on my med length hair and as i was rinsing i thought oh boy is this going to leave my hair greasy because it felt so slick and smooth but to my surprise how it felt was no where near how it actually made my hair look. The biggest shock of my life was that while my hair was shiny and glistened and was smooth, my blow-out lasted 5 days before i needed to wash!!! Omg is this a first for me. I know it sounds gross but it sealed my cuticle and protected my hair so that no styling products were needed and mabey thats why it looked this clean and beautiful. Who knows what makes this magical potion work but i give props to frederic for creating this holy grail product! Btw i have to add that it is VERY important that you rinse with very cool water because that helps the shine and the hair's cuticle. I notice that when i don't do the cool rinse- i don't get the full effect. If you have an oily scalp but misbehaved hair then this is for you! Oh and i forgot to add that i heard from a reputable source that this product is suppose to take the place of your conditioner so theres no need to use one. Now in all honesty, since i use a clarifying shampoo my hair tends to get very tangled so i have to put a tiny dallop of conditioner just to get the knots out. I feel that if my hair is knot-fee then this product applies more evenly and absorbs better. However, if you don't have knots in your hair than no conditioner is needed :)

Eye Shadow -Laura Geller - Marble Shadow - Starburst
SPACEGIRL1000 8/1/2008 11:08:00 PM
Ok well i have to admit this shadow attracted me because of it's whimsical swirl of many colors and shimmers, however; there are pro's and cons. Starburst is one of the only baked shadows that i liked and i bought ALL of them. Most of them were too sheer and did not deposit any color on my lid other than a sheer shimmer and they lacked pigment. Then the darker ones that did have pigment also had chunky glitter that had tons of fallout and irritated my eyes. Starburst was the only shade that i loved because it had great pigment and no chunky teenage glitter- just shimmer. Starburst is suppose to be a mix of gold, champange, brown and pink colors. Now here comes my beef with it: Just like fingerprints- every single pot of shadow is different. None are the same! When i first ordered this from sephora i received a beautiful light champange golden shadow with barely any brown or pink. I used it all over my entire lid and it looked like my eye lids but better. It opened up my eyes and gave me beautiful bright eyes. The color was a nude sparkle. Sadly enough after just 2 uses, i lost it so i ordered another to replace it and what i got was a dark brown color with 2 patches on pink! How could this be? I went back to sephora and opened up 5 boxes of starburst- every single one was different! Some had tons of pink- some had no pink. Some were all dark, Some were all light. I never found another one even close to my original. Then i look on qvc and saw one that looked all taupe. I took yet another chance and ordered it again from sephora and what i got was a taupy-gray. Very weird. All this effort and energy wasted yet i never found my holy grail starburst again. So sad. Mabey i will take another trip into sephora and open up another 100 boxes until i find the right combo but who knows if that will ever be. Btw- on qvc laura geller herself said that every single shadow has the exact same color combo but many other people i have spoken to even say that is not true. I love you laura but to say that is not accurate :(

Mascara -LORAC - Visual Effects
SPACEGIRL1000 7/31/2008 9:55:00 PM
The bad reviews were right! Horrible mascara- i wish i could give it 0 lippies! First off i want to say that i typically love heavy&thick mascara's. I love dramatic lashes and usually whenever a person complains about a mascara being too clumpy- it's always good for me BUT this one really was clumpy. The brush is a disaster- the idiot who invented this needs to re-think their profession. The brush administers a tremendous amount of clumpy mascara that becomes a huge mess and gets everywhere. It also makes your lashes stick together and weighs them down. When i read all the reviews i honestly thought that these other reviewers were complaining because they wanted a more natural mascara but no they were right- this mascara is just that bad, Even i who generally loves heavy mascara couldn't use this. I tried everything in order for it to work and took my time but this is useless junk. The only reason why i am not furious is because i got it as part of a gift set at ulta. For $40 i got this full size mascara and a bunch of other products that i actually love so the mascara ended up being free so to speak. I can only imagine the pain of paying $20 for this crap.
