Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Lamaur - Sprayage II Firm Hold Hairspray

Have been using this for years. This is a good, all around medium-firm hold hairspray that doesnt get tacky or gummy on your hair. The smell is nice and is not that over-powering alcohol smelling smell that so many hairsprays I've tried have. You can spray a lot on your hair without it looking like a lacquer-head. I've tried many brands and always come back to this. I rotate this with Thicker Fuller Hair Hairspray. Get a big can for the money and it goes on sale quite often at Sally's. Try it....think you'll like it and if not, you haven't spent a lot!!

Styling Products -Schwarzkopf - Thicker Fuller Hair Weightless Volumizing Hair Spray

Like most of the reviewers on here I have fine, fly-away hair. My hair is stick straight and layered. I blow-dry my bangs to the side and need a good hairspray to keep them in the style or else it just falls limp and out. This is a very good hairspray that gives my hair that immediate hold without having to use half the can. On my hair, it tends to get a little stiff if I use a lot so I just spritz lightly on the areas I need the most hold. It doesnt take much, which is a good thing. The smell is not overpowering alcohol or strong. To me it's a light herbal smell that wears away fast. If you have hair that needs a strong hold but dont want to use a heavy-duty product that will weight your hair down this is the stuff to use. Just use it sparingly. It will keep the hold!!!

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Colorful - Neutral Protein Filler

I always use this before coloring my hair. I think it gives me a more uniform color especially on the lower part of my hair (for reference, I have med brown hair below my shoulders). When coloring your hair a dark color, the color takes more so to the lower part of the hair coming out darker than the rest due to porosity. I find this seems to alleviate that problem, although, this did not prevent hot roots for me. I think preventing hot roots is more so w/the color, developer and timing it right than anything else. Also, a reviewer on here complained this did not help cover her gray. I don't think this product is meant to do that. There are other products that do that. Will continue to use this and recommend it!

Hair Color -Ion - Color Brilliance
rated 4 of 5

After much research, I decided to go with this color line. I had previously used Age Beautiful but wasn't really impressed and had read a lot of good reviews for Ion here. I have med-dark brown hair with around 5% pure white hairs around my temples etc. I also pull red (for those not in the know, that is when your roots come out lighter, redder because of the natural red in your hair and the heat of your scalp w/the developer.) I was going for a slightly lighter color than my natural and grey coverage. I went with Light Ash Brown (remember Ash cancels out Red) mixed with Light Brown (must mix ash w/neutral to cover grey). I used 20% developer to cover the grey and to go slightly lighter. At last, success!!! I don't think a professional stylist could have done better! I think this is quality color and the formulation you use is key to getting the results you want!

Hair -Sacha Cosmetics - Sally - Hair One Hair Cleanser and Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
SHOESLAVE 2/27/2013 7:50:00 PM

I first tried the Sweet Almond Oil version in a sample I got at Sally's. I was pleasantly surprised!! It made my fly-away, flat thin hair more thicker with more texture. The day I first used this a coworker asked me if I did anything to my hair because it looked fuller! I find that it is easier to style after using it. I sometimes wash my hair w/a little moisturizing shampoo to get all the hairspray and product that I use out then I work this in my hair. My hair is very tangle/snarl prone and although this is not as effective as a regular conditioner for snarls it is not as harsh and stripping as regular shampoo. I'll work in a little regular conditioner to give my hair extra-moisture before I rinse this out. I think this has protein in it which helps my type of hair texture but might not be for everyone. Oh, I think the Sweet Almond Oil version smells great :) RECOMMEND!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Correctionist Time Correcting Creme with Line Blox Complex
rated 4 of 5
SHOESLAVE 2/27/2013 6:07:00 PM

I tried this creme for the first time this week. I had gone on the Sally site to check out their anti-aging products because I had a coupon I wanted to use. I checked out what they had, particularly looking at the active ingredients. I wanted something w/peptides, good moisturizing ingredients etc. for my 50+ skin. I thought this creme had some top-shelf, quality ingredients and it was very reasonably priced. It was on sale to boot! Well, the creme is silky and rich and melts into your skin. The one caveat, it stinks to high heaven!! (I took off a point for that...I figured it was because of some of the anti-aging ingredients :)) I believe it has yeast and some other unusual ingredients (although I have seen yeast in some high quality products.) I put it under my makeup and serum and I swear my skin looked more firmer and tighter . I put some on before I went to bed and same result. My skin looks more firm and younger!! So what if it stinks...I'll just wear it to bed : p !!! Maybe I'm imagining it...you'll have to try it yourself. But for me to recommend this smelly product, I must think it's great! Hope they never stop selling it!! That usually happens when something works for me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Skincare - Body -Caswell-Massey - Almond Cold cream soap
rated 5 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/27/2012 1:01:00 PM

Found this soap in a set of three for a bargain price at a discount store. Caswell-Massey has a good rep and I loved the almond scent. Also, the cold cream in the title had me sold since it is winter in the great northeast, which means dry skin!! Well, I wasn't disappointed. It is very luxurious and creamy and great in the shower. I also used it on my face with no problem.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
rated 4 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/8/2012 1:26:00 AM

I was dying to try this mascara after reading about it in Allure magazine The brush was engineered to prevent clumping and cynic that I am, wanted to put it to the test. I couldn't believe my eyes!! No clumps!!! Yay!!! The only complaint is that this is not noticeable voluming or lenghtening, but having all other mascaras clump on me, I will take the trade-off.

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum - Fragrance Free
rated 5 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/7/2012 3:29:00 PM

Have been using this serum since it came on the market and will always use it. I use this as my primer/moisturizer before I put on my tinted-moisturizer and love it. Makes my skin smooth and silky while giving me the anti-aging benefits (niacinamide and peptides) I need. Have tried some expensive primers and they weren't nearly as good as Olay. The most bang for the buck in my opinion!

Blush -mark - Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint stick-Berry
rated 5 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/7/2012 3:11:00 PM

I have been using this blush for years (probably since it came out) and still love it. I have light-medium skin and this gives me a nice rosy glow. It can look intimidating because it's dark in the tube but a little goes a long way and the intensity goes down alot when you blend it in. Especially if you have moisturizer/foundation on your skin before putting it on. I also put a teensy amount of moisturizer on my cheeks to make blending it in easier on my dry skin. I agree w/other reviewers on here saying it staying power is disappointing. I put a very light dusting of powder blush in the same color range over it and voila!!, it stays all day. I think as a rule, you need to do that over any cream blush for staying power. Recommend highly!!

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Cream Concealer in soft yellow
rated 4 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/3/2012 9:31:00 PM

Purchased this in a 3-in-1 concealer pack which contains the soft yellow correcting concealer, the natural light concealer (a peachy color) and a pink highlighter color. The package label says it's a medium coverage cream formula which I agree with but I think it is also buildable. The three come in their respective color tubes (w/wand applicators) that snap together. I really liked the yellow concealer which I thought did a pretty good job of covering my deep, dark under-eye circles for a medium cream formula and went on quite smoothly and was easy to blend. It also didn't seem to accent my lines as so many concealers seem to do . I likened it to a lighter-version of Maybelline's Age Rewind yellow corrector (without the annoying twist-sponge applicator) which I thnk is good but I like the lighter yellow color of this corrector even more. Don't know if I like the natural concealer as much, will have to play w/it but I just may use one of my other go to concealers over the yellow. Same w/the highlighter. I would purchase this again and would reccomend (you won't be spending a fortune if u don't like it and that's a good thing!!!).

Concealers -It Cosmetics - Bye Bye Under Eye
rated 1 of 5
SHOESLAVE 12/3/2012 8:53:00 PM

God Bless the other ladies that gave this stuff a good review!!! I'm glad it worked for them. I, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. I took the advice of other reviewers on here who said you should only apply a teensy-tiny amount of this to cover. No matter what I did it looked cakey and accented my lines. It is definitely on the tacky-side, which I try to stay away from, as far as concealers go. I'm over 50 w/dry skin, so maybe this works better for younger ladies. Going in the trash.... (Tonite I also tested out Physiicians Formula Mineral Wear correcting concealer trio and liked the yellow corrector a lot. Will be doing a review on that too.) My hunt for a great concealer continues...
