Primer/ Corrector -Revlon - PhotoReady Color Correcting Primer (color 002)
rated 2 of 5

I really wanted to like this, mainly because I have been a huge fan of revlon colourstay foundation. I managed to get this free as my local drugstore was having a one for one with revlon products. When I first tried it, it glided easily onto my face and did cover fine lines and pores. Does reduce redness slightly. It actually felt like a good primer. But, it gave my face an odd whitish cast and starts faking after a while. Looked like my skin was peeling! Definitely not a desirable factor. It doesn't have a pleasant smell to it either. My liquid foundation did not have longer staying power with this. In fact, my foundation started to slide off after a few hours! Such a pity as I'm now left with a close to brand new bottle of primer. :(

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cure - Natural Aqua Gel

This is probably the only "exfoliator" I would use! It doesn't have tiny beads in it that hurt your face and is pretty gentle if you use the right amount. I don't use this frequently, probably once a week or fortnight depending on how my skin feels. It has not broken me out and really keeps my skin feeling smooth. I avoid using this around my chin area though as I suffer from persistent hormonal acne there. I am a little afraid it might strip off too much oil at that area. But sometimes when my skin gets slightly better at the chin, I do use it to strip away the dead skin. It is expensive but it lasts a long time!

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
rated 4 of 5
Rylko 1/18/2013 10:20:00 AM

So, I bought this powder eons ago and remember loving how soft/silky my skin feels after application. But I stopped using it because it was so difficult to get the powder out without being messy and pouring out too much. Also I thought it was causing me to breakout cause of the silicons in it! But recently I started trying this product again because I desperately needed a setting powder for my liquid foundation and this was the only option sitting around. This time I decided to use a brush to pat it on instead of the puff. My problem area is around my chin, my liquid foundation starts to separate if I do not use this. I am going to observe and see if it breaks me out again these few days which would be unfortunate because it works so well!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 4 of 5

I have been using this for slightly around 1 year and a half and although it's not exactly my HG foundation, but it's close enough! I have tried tons of foundations before from loose powder, compact powder and BB creams. My dry spots tend to look flaky with powder and that is why I prefer liquid foundation. This one stays on my face for most of the day until I have to dab the oil off. But, not that much comes off either. The texture is fine and glides on well. It is easy to apply on with a wet sponge and some blending with fingers. Definitely have to use a wet sponge as it dries really quickly. I mix two different shades to get the right colour. A small bottle lasts a pretty long time, my face has quite a lot of blemishes and I'm not looking for full coverage, just medium. It provides the adequate coverage I want. My problem is that it doesn't have a pump and like what most people have said, it is a HUGE con! Revlon please do something about it! The biggest plus is that it does not streak or cake and it doesn't rub off on my clothes or anything. Even though it's a tad pricey for me, I would still go back to this any day! UPDATE: Unfortunately this foundation starts to separate at my chin area if I don't use a setting powder. I use ELF HD studio Powder to set and it works very well together. I get oily after about 6 to 7 hours using this method. Without setting, I get oily around 2 hrs!

Lip Gloss -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream - Amsterdam
rated 4 of 5
Rylko 3/23/2012 12:18:00 PM

This is my first lip cream by NYX and I am in love with it upon the first application. The colour is beautiful and the matte texture spreads very evenly on my lips. Often my lipsticks tend to dry my lips out if I don't apply lip balm to set first. But, this product sits so well on my lips and has such a natural look to it. You can look dramatic yet soft! Definitely will buy this over my other nyx lipsticks any day. I find this works best when using your fingers to apply, but then again, I always preferred using my fingers over any kind of applicators. If you want a deeper red, probably use the applicator that comes with it. Gonna get more colours soon!

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
rated 2 of 5

I am really quite disappointed with this product! I have tried ways and means to make this work for my oily skin. It cakes and slides off my face within three to four hours. My skin looks awful after that and I just can't wait to go home to wash it off! I have tried using a stipling brush and foundation brush, but neither works. Even using a primer failed, powdering my face to set failed too. Let's just say, I've finally given up trying to make my money's worth! I guess it just doesn't work for my skin.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - SPF 15 Daily Moisturizer with Vitamin C
rated 2 of 5
Rylko 6/26/2011 12:10:00 AM

I have tried this for a couple of days and I simply dislike it. I have oily skin and was actually recommended to use this product by the sales staff. God knows why! Even a tiny drop makes my skin feel oily, it doesn't feel like the product gets absorbed into my skin at all. I believe my chin is starting to breakout because of this and it seems my skin is worse than a week before. Not buying this again, will just use it as a handcream or something.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum Soft - Supersoft treatment lipbalm
rated 5 of 5
Rylko 6/23/2011 10:46:00 AM

The only lipbalm that I will stick with. I think this is only available in Asia. It makes my lips feel soft and it isn't sticky or overly waxy. The smell is lovely too! I was sold the very first time I tried it. The texture was just so soft compared to other chapsticks I've had. Must have!

Foundations -Bourjois - Matte Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 10:45:00 AM

This is the only foundation that I have used that I have bought a second time! I love this product, it glides on smoothly on my face with the use of the mini kabuki (which is another gem). And it lasts a good 6 months, considering I use it almost everyday and need high coverage as I have lots of blemishes to cover! First the review on the mousse foundation, I find this works very well for my oily skin. I have tried using loose powder and pressed powder, they always turn out cakey on my face and looks very unnatural! But, not with this! It sits on my face and doesn't cake or smear despite having possibly the oiliest skin on earth. Of course, I have to still blot my face every 4 hours. I doubt it helps much with oil control. But, I still love it to death because it looks like I have oily skin instead of oily skin WITH makeup on. When I first tried the brush, it was baby soft. I was taken aback! It is travel friendly and works very well with the foundation. However, after so many countless washes, it feels a little stiff. I suspect it's because I use a shampoo to wash instead of proper makeup brush cleaners. High time I invested in a good makeup brush cleaner! I am considering re-buying the brush again soon. But, I have used the brush for more than 2 years now and it is still in good condition, so I guess I will still use it for applying blushes. Great product, I really hope they don't change anything about it EVER!

Scrubs -The Body Shop - Vitamin C Micro Refiner
rated 4 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 10:26:00 AM

I have been using this to substitute Kiehl's Re-Texturizing Microdermabrasion scrub and I find it to be surprisingly pleasant to use. Its grains are very fine but it does the job! It does not hurt my face which has mild acne and it is not drying to my skin. I use this more than once a week, probably 3 to 4 times because I have oily skin and wear makeup for long hours everyday. It has helped smoothen out my skin a little, will probably have to use it longer to see if it works its magic! I love the smell and the texture, so far, I have nothing negative to say about this product!

Scrubs -Kiehls - Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion
rated 5 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 6:51:00 AM

BEST SCRUB EVER! It makes my skin feel super smooth and less bumpy. Visible results after I used it for the first time. It does not dry out my face, maybe because I have oily skin. I can use it about 3 to 4 times a week and it's good! But, this stuff is so expensive! I have stopped using it for a while now because I can't afford it and my face is back to being bumpy. Will definitely have to get this back again!

Palettes -Coastal Scents - Concealer Palette
rated 4 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 6:37:00 AM

Very affordable. I have used a couple of concealers before and they have always been too orangey on my face and they wear off easily. I have been able to mix the right shade for my face with this palette and it doesn't come out looking patchy or cakes under my foundation. I have pretty red blemished skin and it conceals the redness well. I don't have to dab on too much of it either. Even without using a primer, just moisturizer, it stays on my face all day long. I guess the cons are that I don't really need 3 to 4 of the darker shades. Still thinking what I can do with those other colours!

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Duo Fiber Stippling Brush
rated 3 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 6:27:00 AM

This is my first stippling brush as I am on a tight budget, so I decided to give this a shot to use with my liquid foundation. When I first got it, I was kind of disappointed with it already! The brush was kind of soft and the bristles were looking frayed. I gave it a wash and it took longer than my other brushes to dry. There was some minor shedding as well and it looked more frayed than when I first got it. It isn't stiff as most reviewers have posted and the bristles do bend a little if you apply more pressure onto your face. Ok, if you are on a budget I guess. UPDATE: The colour keeps running after every wash and even stains the towel that I use to let it sit/dry on. Would not repurchase!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Kabuki Face Brush
rated 5 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 6:16:00 AM

I got this really cheap off Ebay brand new and I love it! I have been using it for about 3 days now and it's so soft on my face. I have washed it once before I used it and it still remains soft and lovely! I tried this with bourjois mineral matte mousse foundation, doesn't pick up the product that well though. However, this is definitely great for loose powder, blushers and bronzers as it picks up the product well and gives a great soft coverage. Worth every cent!

Moisturizers -Vichy - Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care
rated 3 of 5
Rylko 6/22/2011 6:10:00 AM

I bought the 50ml bottle for this moisturizer and most likely wouldn't purchase it again. The PROS: Lightweight, does not feel sticky on my face. Easy application. No breakouts from this product so far after 3 weeks. The CONS: Does not help much with oil control. The problem with this is that it flakes once I start to apply my liquid foundation over it or rub my face. I have tried reducing the amount that I put on my face, but it still flakes. I can rub my fingers over my cheeks after I let it air for about 15 mins and white flakes just start to come off! I am currently only using this at night before I sleep, I don't want to waste it and also because it doesn't cause me to breakout either.
