Fragrances -Lanvin - My Sin Extrait

If Lanvin would reissue this scent, I would never buy anything else. I loved it - oh, about 50 years ago - I've tried the smellalike - not even close!!

Next to Miss Dior, this is my favorite in the Dior line. I remember when it was introduced and immediately liked it.

This is one of the few scents men don't hate. It's easy to be around. A nurse friend wears it and says it's one scent patients adore.

This did nothing for me. At least I'll allow that it caused no irritation. I may as well have rubbed water on my face.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser

I've probably bought a dozen bottles of this over the last few years. One bottle lasts about 5 months. I use it in the morning when there is no need to remove makeup. The pump bottle is handy in the shower, the formula is not drying, and it rinses off well. Never irritating or itchy. I do not have an acne problem, so I can't speak to that.

Moisturizers -Dr. Denese - Wrinkle Defense Day Cream SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
Ruth120 10/12/2009 9:30:00 PM

This stuff provides spf 30 BUT the big deal, for me, is that it handles so well. I have at least a minute to apply and spread the stuff. Fingers work well, then I smooth again with sponge. No tugging necessary. I like the coverage and if I had to give up all but one of my foundations, I'd keep this one. There is no shimmer or glow - just a healthy smooth look to the skin. It's a great dual purpose product. Not cheap, but I've had no irritation occur, and it travels well,

Foundations -Jane Iredale - Mineral Foundation
rated 5 of 5

I prefer the pressed version. Easy to travel with, no mess unscrewing jar caps. Not cheap, but coverage good and the color selection is tops. Beats BE by a mile.

Lip Gloss -Rachel Perry - Liplovers lipbalm

I think I've bought at least 6 of these. Love the flavor, stays on all night. Save the little jars for travel size transfers of things like hair wax.

Blush -Aubrey Organics - Silken Earth Powder - Rose Tone
rated 5 of 5
Ruth120 10/12/2009 7:23:00 PM

I'd gladly buy again, but I swear this little jar holds enough product for 50 years. I even added a bit of it to add some depth to the BE mineral veil sample (came with a kit) which I found to be almost useless. It's a very natural rose tone - not too bright, not brown....apply with a big brush and blend, blend blend, then I sweep a makeup sponge, *dry and clean*, over it. try it - you'll love it.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup
rated 4 of 5
Ruth120 10/12/2009 10:35:00 AM

The coverage is adequate, and I like the matte finish. The packaging is sensible - easy to travel with, and you can SEE how much is left in the tube. I dab a dot here and there, then blend with a makeup sponge. I'm starting to like creamy foundations again vs. minerals and the messy brush affairs like BE which are NOT convenient for travel.

Makeup Brushes -Trish McEvoy - Trish McEvoy Brush #11
rated 4 of 5

I have used this brush for over ten years - has held up wonderfully. I use it to apply brow powder - you can get a precise line and fill brows too with it - then I mute it all with an old dry clean mascara brush with a dab of hair wax on it. The brush was meant for liner - but I also find it good for applying a bit of shadow near the lid if you hold it flat. I also bought the definer liner, but it's rather dark for everyday use. I think it'll last til the year 2050. The brush is white, so you can see when it's clean again after washing.

Concealers -Laura Geller - Real Deal Full Coverage Cream Concealer
rated 5 of 5
Ruth120 10/7/2009 10:39:00 AM

At last - a concealer which covers sunspots, capillaries, you name it. I apply it from a dab on back of hand with an old Morgan Schick synthetic flat brush. I had enough time to stipple it on, spread it, then pat it well with fingertip. Lasted all day. Now I'm tempted to buy more LG products. I will attempt to cover a spider friend or two and report back. (Quit crossing those LEGS, ladies. Baaaad.)

Overall, a decent kit, good sizes, packaging. Most products are effective. Not miracles, but no harmful effects.

Masks -Serious Skin Care - Olive Oil Deep Facial Peel
rated 4 of 5
Ruth120 10/7/2009 10:26:00 AM

The scent isn't too pleasant, but it does smooth skin, esp. decollete, hands.....face even felt smooth for a day or two. Nice olive green plastic big wide mouth jar - nice to keep when it's empty for other items. Labels removable, so you can keep it on your vanity with things you might want to transfer from less-friendly packaging, like those dumb pump bottles.

I couldn't get to the post office fast enough to return this to HSN. Maybe it works on a blonde, but did nothing for me. No better, or maybe even worse, than the drugstore Nair type stuff. I'll stick w/ my epilators for legs and a good old Gillette and Tweezerman for the rest. I have never tried one depilatory which worked as promised.
