Eye Makeup Remover -Wet 'n' Wild - eye make-up remover
rated 1 of 5

Usually WnW is a diamond in the drugstore rough. But with this doozy I found myself putting from the rough. It had a strong scent, it stung my eyes and didn't even remove all mg makeup. Product fail!!! Never buying again.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
rated 1 of 5
Ruby2003 8/31/2012 9:01:00 AM

My first BB and totally not impressed. It was heavy, streaky and had a heavy orangey tint. It definitely was not a one color for all. My skin did not feel moisturized enough nor did it look airbrushed. Now I am a little gunshy about waisting time on this BB craze.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 8/31/2012 8:56:00 AM

This moisture gel is a great product for summer. It's light and fresh. It works well for my combination skin. Quickly absorbs and has a light refreshing scent. It was priced at $8.00 or so at my local drug store and came in a more expensive looking glass jar. I am taking points off for that. That jar is very appealing, however I tend not to like jars for sanitary reasons and wish it was plastic as glass would shatter all over my marble floor. I am on my second jar so it's definitely something I would purchase again in summer months.

Polishes -Sinful - Boogie Nights
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 8/30/2012 7:47:00 PM

Boogie Nights is a hot coral color. Perfect for summer. I always use a good base coat, two coats of polish and a quality top coat. I rarely have a chip. I really have to sing the praises. You would never guess it was a $2.00 product. I have yet to find a Sinful color that does not meet these high expectations. This is salon quality a dime store prices.

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - britney spears CIRCUS FANTASY
rated 2 of 5
Ruby2003 7/30/2012 8:00:00 AM

I admit I love the other two Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy scents. My daughter likes the bottles so when we saw Circus for $10 we picked it up to add our collection. But I am not crazy about the scent. I will add a description and opinion later. I just plain didn't like it. It was nothing like how it was described. Top notes Raspberry and Apricot Blossom Middle notes Blue Peony, water lily and red sweetheart orchid Base notes Vanilla Woods, Creamy Musk and Violet Candy I don't smell any fruit, none of the vanilla woods or violet candy. It's all musky floral. It really doesn't work for me. Unlike the others this one is a a dud.

Sunscreen -L'Oreal - Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen Liquid Silk Sunshield For Face SPF 50
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 7/30/2012 7:45:00 AM

This is the first facial sunscreen I have used faithfully. I have tried to find one in the past. Other L'oreal's, Neutrogena's, you name it. The all had that weird chemical smell and heavy feel. This product feels light and silkly. I swear it even appears to even my skin tone. This is the first time ever a decent sunscreen has been a daily morning staple. I am in shock. My face is five shades lighter than my body! Which is a good thing. Now I just have to get some Jergens face cream to fix that :) This sunscreen is the bomb. I have tried a lot of products and this really impressed me. I will be buying again.

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Ruby2003 2/22/2012 12:19:00 PM

I am not an everyday foundation wearer. But I got a sample card with all the shades and decided to play with it. After finding my shade and a great coupon, combined with a great sale...I got this foundation and the fit me concealer for $4.00 total. Having the card to determine the color at home was a great marketing idea! How many times have we all purchased foundation at the store just to return it for another shade over and over - and sometimes never finding the right shade? As a foundation this provides very light coverage, more like a tinted moisturizer. I imagine it could be buildable but I find that this "gel" like texture does not set well and even though it says its oil free, I think it would make an oily complexion a grease pit. I have dry skin so this isn't so much of a problem. I wear it occasionally when I have time to get a little more dolled up. it works for what I need it too. But I cannot attest to how long it lasts. I would buy again simply because I have the match down to a science and it works rather well on the occasions I need it to.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Botanical translucent face powder
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 2/22/2012 12:12:00 PM

This powder is great for a quick pick me up as you are running out the door. A little moisturizer, some blush, a swirl of this and you look dewy and it goes a long way to brightening up your day to day look. As a busy mother I am always looking for low maintainance products that give the most impact. Rather impressed by this. I have had both the Daisy and the lavendar (not sure what its called) and the Daisy shown here is the better of the two IMO. Plus its $3.99 at the local job lot. Can't beat that!

Masks -Jaqua Girls - pumpkin papaya face mask
rated 4 of 5
Ruby2003 2/22/2012 12:08:00 PM

This mask has been a repeat purchase in my skin care routine. Its still not as good as my Skinsimple favorite but it gets the job done. The combination brings a glow to my complexion. I feel like my skin has been thouroughly refreshed and the dry flakes sloughed off gently. I didn't find it overly moisturizing but I was using it more or less for the papaya enzymes to brighten my complexion. I am very happy with this product. However the jar is not the best - would prefer a tube with any facial product period.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Feria Haircolor
rated 2 of 5
Ruby2003 10/14/2011 4:37:00 PM

I picked up Feria in Espresso. I was not too thrilled with its long term perfomance. First off it did not have enough color to saturate my hair and that left me worried about missing spots. Then once I finished it seemed to leave my hair drier than usual. It did not cover all my grey's despite being a permanent color. On the positive the shimmering effect did leave "multi facets" in my hair. But I will not be buying again. Its one of the most expensive home kits to boot.

Fragrances -Bond No.9 - Fire Island
rated 4 of 5
Ruby2003 10/14/2011 10:14:00 AM

Price of this alone is prohibitive. I was also lucky enough to score a sample size of this. I do love tihs as a summer fragrance and it does in fact smell so much like Coppertone! But now that I spend so little time in the sun it makes no sense to purchase the Coppertone. The scent does not last like Fire Island. I will cry when this sample is gone as there is no way I will ever purchase at the price offered. Which is too bad as its a great summer scent. Luckily I have a few other fav's to get me through. "The scent of bronzing: Certified New York sun-kissed skin. The quintessential male-female beach-and-suntan scent, to wear all summer or to summon up the scent of musky, sun-baked skin." Notes: Cardamom, neroli, white musk, tuberose, patchouli

Fragrances -Lolita Lempicka - L de Lolita Lempicka
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 9/29/2011 5:03:00 PM

I love this scent. However, I do not get the complexity. to me it smells like nautical citrus and powder. If the original is my wood nymph this would be my siren. "Top notes are cinnamon and bitter orange; middle notes are immortal and vanille; base notes are woodsy notes and musk"

Fragrances -GAP Beauty - Dream
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 9/29/2011 4:58:00 PM

Another oldie but goodie. I have both an old body spray and a newer version EDT. They smell very much alike and haven't affected as greatly as the "new" Grass. This is a clean light floral and love to apply after a shower. Dream also has a subtle sweetness to it that sets it apart from Grass & Heaven. I am enjoying the new EDT i picked up at the outlet immensely and may have to pick up another one in case gap decides to retire it yet again.

Fragrances -GAP Beauty - Heaven
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 9/29/2011 4:55:00 PM

Heaven has been a staple in my collection for quite sometime. I still posses a small amount of the original from the mid 90's. Very sad to say its started to turn. its a fresh powdery scent. Smells very clean and is not overpowering. I would love to compare the new verisons to my original before it goes completely rancid. I wonder if they have changed the formula as they did with Grass.

Fragrances -GAP Beauty - Grass
rated 5 of 5
Ruby2003 9/29/2011 4:53:00 PM

I adore Grass. It was the first of the Gap Scents that I feel for way back when. The scent is grasslike with green and ivy, and clover accents and something over a fresh bloom to accent it. I cannot place the floral type and it is very light. I was saddened when Gap stopped making and carrying this. The origanal packaging was this aluminum canister. After its hiatus from the market I noticed Grass started appearing at the Gap outlet stores. SO far I have only been able to find the body spray in a typical plastic container. And the formula is not quite spot on. I do not have any original to compare it to but my nose knows!
