Fragrances -Pacifica - Indian Coconut Nectar - spray perfume
RubberBandMan 4/19/2012 5:20:00 PM
I have this in the rollerball (which I'll assume is the same formula as the spray) The top note in this scent is weird. It's not horrible but it's not very likable, luckily it fades quickly. After about five minutes the heart note comes out and it smells like an almond vanilla. It reminds me of Almond Cookie from Carol's Daughter a bit or of the Malibu Beach from Hollister. It smells good but it's not nearly the best part... About half an hour after the application you get to the dry down, which is AMAZING. It smells like a rich, creamy, sweet (but not overly), grounded (from the coconut), vanilla. It smells so good. At the time I bought this I was drinking a hazelnut latte and I got in my car and thought "Oh my gosh, my drink smells reeeeallly good" and then I realized it was my wrist! The dry down of this scent is the most wearable, lovely bakery-scent I have ever encountered. If you can make it past the first half hour (which isn't great but definitely isn't gag-worthy or anything) you will be left with the most amazing scent that will last the rest of the day. Btw, this scent stays close to the skin.
Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Dep Sport Styling Gel
RubberBandMan 4/12/2012 10:02:00 PM
I bought the orange texturizing sport gel in hold 11. This is the best product I've ever used on my wavy/curly hair. It might it slightly crunchy (easily to crunch out), shiny, frizz and tangle free. I even managed to get second day hair with this. I scrunch it into towel dried hair and let it air dry. I've used a lot of different hair products and this is the best I've found so far.
I heard that this was a floral. When I tried it out, I loved the top notes. They were great. I proceeded to spritz in on my wrists and after a few moments that spices, musk and vanilla came out and I HATE IT. I understand that this sultry kind of floral is popular but it's just not my style at all. This doesn't smell like a clean, soft floral by any means in my mind. To me, this either smells like a "sexy" floral or something an older lady would wear. It reminded me of Black Amethyst or Dark Kiss from BBW. I hate it. I haven't found one Elizabeth Arden frag. I really like. The bottle is pretty and this is easy to get at somewhere like Marshalls (where I got mine)
This is a sweet floral that comes off as soapy or clean. It's not linear but is relatively simple in composure. I don't think that this scent fits a particular age group, it can be worn by anyone. Other reviewers have said this smells like hay....I don't think it really smells like hay, but it does have a slightly warm quality to it. It's not a sterile, laundry kind of soapy but a warm, clean kind of soapy. I didn't detect any musk in the dry down (I don't like musk). After about four hours the scent will probably need re-application. It doesn't disappear entirely but it lies very close to the skin after this.
Fragrances -Secret - Fresh Effects Cucumber Aloe Body Mist
RubberBandMan 1/24/2012 8:29:00 PM
I really like this product. It smells very similar to any basic aloe body lotion. It's a light, sweet green scent. I haven't noticed how long this lasts, exactly. It's a very close-to-skin scent that's good for sensitive noses, like mine. I like that it's purse-sized, as well. Edit: I decided this was too sweet for me.
Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - My Favorite Night Balm
RubberBandMan 1/24/2012 8:25:00 PM
I've had this for a while but have never reviewed it. This is a great night balm. It has a really nice, soft vanilla scent. It comes out like a thick, jelly gloss and what you do is apply it before bed and in the morning your lips are *so* soft. This product doesn't normally absorb completely overnight. In the morning I still have a slight gloss on my lips until I was my face, which is ok b/c I have never used a product that works this well. I think it's about $8 (I can't remember) but they usually have those sales (4/$12?) which includes this lip balm. You can get this at Bath and Body Works...by the way.
Lip Treatments -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment for Lips
RubberBandMan 1/24/2012 8:22:00 PM
I really like this product. It's clear and unscented. It doesn't contain glitter, spf or any menthol. The application feels creamy and slick, similar to vaseline although it does not contain petroleum. It doesn't get weird as it dries up like a slot of lip products do, nor does it accentuate chapped lips in a gross way. It's difficult for me to find lip products I like but this is definitely my new day time lip balm.
I really like this product. I have it in classic light. Our of the container it looks much too dark for my skin but after it is applied it looks perfect. I love that very little product have to be used and that it controls oil relatively well. I really don't need concealer or even powder with this product, although I do blot my face several times a day. It is not particularly cakey, either. It has not broken me out and appears to be unscented (I have sensitive skin). I would definitely recomend this.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar body splash
RubberBandMan 12/7/2011 5:15:00 PM
This is a creamy scent. It is not a sweet, sugary vanilla. It could be compared to a maple vanilla but not in a gross, foody way. This is almost like a skin scent, to me. It is lovely and unobtrusive yet mildly warm, making it a good scent for fall/winter and a great scent for those who don't want a perfume, for whatever reason.
Lotions/ Creams -Lubriderm - Daily Moisture Lotion
RubberBandMan 10/17/2011 1:19:00 AM
I love this lotion for my hands and body (I really only use body lotion on my forearms, hands and legs). I love the scent (I bought the fragrance free one but it smells good to me). I also love the way the lotion feels as it is non-greasy and absorbs well. HG hand/body lotion for me.
Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Splash
RubberBandMan 10/17/2011 1:13:00 AM
I loved the scent of this lotion in the store. It smelled like a soft vanilla. When I got the spray home and spritzed it, it was very strong and reminded me of a cupcake on fire :( I am sensitive to smells though so this may be why I thought it was so strong.
At first I didn't like this scent. I thought that it smelled like bathroom air freshener. Then I realized that it's perfect for me. It's fresh and a floral but not too sweet. I hate it when fragrances are too sweet. I can't really smell the honeysuckle or jasmine but it's definitely a peppery, powdery, floral. Kind of like laundry sheets but more flowery and spicy. This scent is great for sensitive noses (like mine).
This smells AWESOME. Kind of a light apple/grape smell. Soft and fruity but not too sweet. Pretty sporty. Doesn't irritate my skin. My only complaint is that the gel is super sticky when it dries and so the bit that gets around the cap makes it hard to open the bottle.....
Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
RubberBandMan 6/4/2011 5:15:00 PM
I never really thought this stuff worked but then I tried using it the recommended 3-4 times per work and it has really helped my acne a lot. I use it at night in the shower. I like the giant tub of it as opposed to the tube.
Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara
RubberBandMan 6/4/2011 5:13:00 PM
I think this product ($9) is a little steep for me but I really like this product. The jumbo one is also good. It doesn't really clump at all and I think it's the best mascara I've ever used. Comparable to Clinique mascara, in my opinion. I've used the Almay mascara as well (about $5) and it wasn't nearly as good. It was really clumpy and dried up really fast.
