This is my HG fragrance -- an explosion of rhubarb and the tingle of mint are the first notes. Thereafter, it is a dazzling citrus that lasts and lasts. This is my absolute favorite perfume and one that I can never be without. Love, love, love it.

Liquid -Le Metier de Beaute - Classic Flawless Foundation

I purchased this foundation on Monday, and I have been absolutely thrilled with it each time I wear it. Truly, it makes me seem pore-less, which is an incredible thing. THe shop where I purchased it is a small one in my town and has the advantage of having a window right by where the make-up is tried on, so for once I got an absolutely perfect color match. The only complaint I have is that the first couple of times that I pressed down on the pump applicator, the foundation absolutely shot out of the bottle and got into the grout of my floor. But I love, love, love this foundation and I feel it makes my skin look luminous!

Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup
rated 4 of 5

I bought this powder foundation for a trip to Egypt last year because I knew that I needed something that would really stay on in the intense heat. Since I've been home this summer, it has been so hot that I have used it here. It is really the best foundation that I have for hot, sticky weather. I have Armani and Dior foundations that I love for other times during the year, but this can't be beat for the heat. I make sure that I have a good spf moisturizer before applying with my beauty buffer sponge. Initially, it looks dry, but within a few minutes as the oils in my skin catch up with it, it looks smooth and pretty flawless. I would never use this in the winter or when my skin is acting dry, but for the summer, it's my go-to foundation.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Byredo - Pulp

I have been longing for this perfume for months, and here I am in Egypt, unable to find it. I first smelled it in a small shop in Antwerp. It smelled great on a strip, so I spritzed myself. I was put off at first, but by the time we got in the car and were halfway to our destination, I was in love. Unfortunately, my only day in Brussels was a Sunday and it was impossible to find. This was in November, and I have been longing, longing for it ever since. The silage was fantastic on me, and I happily smelled my wrist all evening. My niece was coming for a visit from Paris, so I asked her to pick it up from a shop there. She went in the pouring rain, and they were out of stock. Woe is me. I want it and gotta have it, and as you can plainly see, I am obsessed. The scent was juicy but not too sweet and it had depth and layers that exploded on my skin one by one. I guess this will have to wait until July when I will be back in Europe and the US.

Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - UV Prime SPF50
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 6/28/2009 8:50:00 AM

Since I will be traveling extensively, I have been looking for ways to pare down my beauty routine. I purchased this primer because it had a very high SPF and obviated the need for a sun block for the face. So far, I am very happy with this product. It is perhaps a tad more hydrating than I would like in a summer product, but I do not plan on wearing this with moisturizer, and so far this had worked out well. Granted, the temperature hasn't hit the stratosphere yet, but the product does not feel heaving on the skin, and I like that very much.

Lip Treatments -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 6/11/2009 9:27:00 AM

I am in love with this product! I have fairly high-pigmented lips, and somehow, light-colored lipsticks always look terrible on me. But Lip Glow seems to change colors to a lovely, glossy light pink that is the perfect shade on my lips. Being termed a "treatment," it is highly emollient and due to this, does not last as long as I would like. But it is fantastic nonetheless, and may be my HG lipstick. And yes, I am using it as a lipstick! Despite the cost, I am going to buy a second one for my upstairs vanity so I can always have the other in my purse.

Liquid -Kanebo - Sensai Fluid Finish foundation
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/16/2009 3:29:00 PM

Back in January, I remember reading about this foundation on Blogdorfgoodman.com. It was listed in the top 10 of products of the year, and it made me really want to try it. I searched the web and I searched every high-end department store web site to no avail. It was supposed to be at Saks, so I stopped in at one not too far away, but they didn't carry it in that branch. I had recently purchased the new Dior foundation, which I really love as well, so my interest eased off. Then last week, I was browsing the Barney's web site, and they finally had it on line. There were only three shades available (I don't know how many this foundational actually comes in), so I took a chance on the warm beige color. Today was the first day I tried it, and I have to say that it is everything I thought it would be and more. My skin looks really fresh and dewy, and though the coverage is pretty good, it does not look unnatural or cakey at all. This may be the HG foundation that I have been looking for. I am considering tossing my Armani foundation, which doesn't look nearly as good and which tends to make my face look really oily. I have loved the Carmindy foundation, but the Sensai has a similar coverage with a much lighter look.

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/16/2009 3:19:00 PM

I bought this product in the winter and used it a few times then kind of forgot about it until last week. I began using the pads twice a day, and then yesterday, as I was putting on my makeup near the window, I was shocked to see how good my skin looked. It kind of glowed. I am thrilled with the results of these pads not only from the standpoint of wrinkle reduction, but also for the general brightening of my skin. I will definitely keep these as a permanent part of my beauty routine. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/6/2009 8:25:00 AM

I was killing time at the cosmetic counters with absolutely no intention of buying a new foundation. I had purchased the new Bobbi Brown foundation recently and was very disappointed in it, so I was back to using Camindy's foundation for Sally Hansen. I stopped at the Dior counter just to look. I have not purchased any Dior products in a long time, but when I saw the display for this foundation, I pumped some on my hand to try it. I was blown away since it instantly made the skin on my hand look flawless. I had to hunt down a SA since it was late and the Dior lady had already left. I found an extremely good match for my skin tone, and have been using the foundation for 5 days, and I have to say that I am thrilled. Great stuff! I like it more than my Armani foundation, which is my defaunt foundation.

Lipstick -Chanel - Aqualumiere 49-Java
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 1/25/2009 11:41:00 AM

I have been looking for the "perfect" lipstick for a long, long time, and I think that I might have found it with Java. I like an everyday lipstick to be natural-looking as well as hydrating, and this one fits the bill on both counts. For what I would term a sheer, glossy lipstick, this has real staying power and even seems to stain the lips a bit so that a little color remains even after most of the lipstick has worn off. I want to buy a second tube to tuck away for when they (inevitably) discontinue this shade! Love it, love it, love it!!!

Foundations -By Terry - Glow Foundation
rated 3 of 5
Roxlet 6/2/2008 8:46:00 PM

I wandered into the Space NK store, and was taken by this foundation's packaging. It is a large pen-type with a clicker, and on the other end from the clicker, is a brush. You are supposed to click once (ha!) and then use the brush to apply the foundation. One click provides almost no foundation and certainly not enough to give any coverage or evening of skin tone. The brush, too, is fairly useless, and after using it to dab the foundation, I have to use my fingers to spread it. This seems to waste quite a bit of product. The foundation itself is just OK, really nothing special, and it does not compare with the much more inexpensive Carmindy line for Nutrogena, which I keep on going back to. IMHO, this is not worth the price, and the packaging is ultimately gimmicky.

Highlighters -Bare Escentuals - Pure Radiance
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/10/2008 9:21:00 AM

I'm not sure exactly why I purchased this originally, but though I have jettison most of my Bare Escentuals products (why would I have ever thought that a powder would work as a concealer?), I have used up my first container of Pure Radiance and I am about to buy a second. I use this product as a powder, and I very lightly go over my foundation with a very light dusting. It really does give my skin a luminous appearance and it doesn't look glittery or pink. I love this product!

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/9/2008 4:51:00 PM

As other posters have testified, this is a great product. In fact, it is the only product in this category that I have ever used that actually works as advertised -- it really does! I've always had somewhat oily lids, and age has done nothing to diminish that, so they have defied every product that I have ever used -- until this one. Like other posters, I hate the packaging. The bottom of my applicator chipped somehow (I have never had this happen with any other product before), and now the contents are drying out. Despite this, I will absolutely buy this again and make sure that I always have it on hand!

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Inspired By Carmindy Natural Beauty Your Skin Makeup ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 4/7/2008 4:29:00 PM

I spent a day and a half stopping in every CVS store that crossed my path (and some that didn't) to try to find this foundation after having read Cavewoman's review. Apparently, it is not in every store, and the manager in the store that I did find it said that she thought it might be a LE. I hope not! This is all I read about and more. I usually use a couple of different Georgio Armani foundations, sometimes a Laura Mercier mineral foundation, occasionally a Kevyn Aucoin, but I always found them a bit lacking -- too matte, too shiny, sat on my skin -- always something was a bit off. This stuff is fabulous and I will go back an purchase some back-ups in case it is a LE! I may get one in a slightly darker color for the summer, too. No testers, though and I was lucky on my first try. I got the creamy beige, and at first I thought that it might be too light, but it somehow adjusted to my skin color. My big problem is that foundations that are light enough to blend along the jaw seem to sit in my pores on my nose. I usually go for a darker shade and then try to blend really well near the jaw. I just didn't have that problem with this foundation. I tried the concealer in the lightest color, which was not too light at all, as well as the cream blush (they have powder too) and I found it to be really nice and highly pigmented. I also purchased an eyeshadow trio and a liquid eyeliner. The shadow as really nice and matte, and the eyeliner was fine. Nothing as special as the foundation, really. Try to find this foundation. You won't be sorry!

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - Petite Cherie
rated 5 of 5
Roxlet 3/2/2008 5:09:00 PM

Petite Cherie surprised me by becoming one of my favorite scents. My problem is that my husband does not really care for perfume, and my early devotion to Mitsuko had to go. I next went through a Miss Dior phase, followed by Chanel 19, but today my favorites are Petite Cherie and Un Jardin sur Nile. Both are what I would characterize as lighter scents, with the "Jardin" being the more complex of the two. Petite Cherie is very fruity (in this case, pear) and the dry down is very subtle. A truly lovely scent and I am frequently asked what I am wearing when I lean in for the usual air kiss...
