Hair -L'Oreal - Preference True Brunettes

Hmm, I wonder if some of the people who left negative reviews followed the instructions. The reason I ask is because this dye has a different process from other dyes. For instance, you apply to your roots for the LAST 10 minutes, not first like with other dyes. So that may explain why some people ended up with over processed roots. Here is my experience: I have naturally dark brown hair. But over the last few months I have highlighted it all over and lightened it to a brassy orange auburn color. I kept using different ash dyes and toners to help with the brassiness, but nothing seemed to work. I still had bright penny hair. I almost dyed my hair back brown, but I decided to try this first and see if it would help the brassiness since i've put my hair through so much lightening it already. The results were not what I expected but I am very happy with the results. Since I started off with lighter hair than the darkest "before" example on the back of the box, I expected to have results close to the lightest results. But i didnt, my results were closer to the darkest example. But, all of the brassiness in my hair is gone. I am left with a beautiful golden brown color that I am LOVING. I think I will try this dye again in a month with the hopes of getting more lift. My roots didn't lighten much (I only left it in for 10 mins on the roots and I probably shouldve left it longer since I have coarser hair). In conclusion, this is the only blond hair dye i have tried that didnt make my hair brassy. I think it's because it has a really strong toner in it. I'd like to add that my hair feels great after this dye, it is really soft and SUPER shiny. I deep condition my hair and use aragon oil as well.

This is a life saver for me when my hair is at its worst. I'm dominican, so I have thick semi-coarse hair that needs to be relaxed. Lately my hair has been fried and damaged because ive game myself highlights and dye jobs. Anyway, this stuff does work. It smells HORRIBLE, though. That's the biggest con. It does say right on the box to tread carefully if you have lightened hair (for brassiness). For the people that are losing their hair, to me it sounds like your hair could not withstand the 450 degree heat of the flat iron. That is SERIOUS heat and thin thin hair probably cannot take that kind of heat. I would say this is more for thick hair.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Good-bye Cellulite
RosieDee 4/15/2010 11:01:00 AM
They say there is no "cure" for cellulite. And yes, this is true. But there ARE treatments and this is one of them. I am a thin Hispanic girl. But my upper thighs have always shown signs of cellulite under the skin (if I squeeze my leg, or sit a certain way). It runs in my family. In the last year, I've seen the cellulite coming to the surface and becoming more noticeable. I'm taking immediate action. Ive been massaging my thighs every night. This has kept the cellulite from getting worse and maybe helped it a tiny bit but not much. I starting using this lotion just a week ago and already I feel the skin on my legs is much tighter. It also smells amazing!! I can pour it into a discrete bottle and my fiance thinks im just using a regular girly lotion. Im not sure how this works, but it doesn't matter how...it just DOES. Im going to keep going at it. I imagine this is one of those "use forever to keep the results" but I'm alright with that because there is no cure for cellulite so I plan on fighting it all of my life. I give this full stars because I saw tighter skin in days and in a week im not noticing my cellulite as much. Im also doing some cardio exercises to help burn fat on my legs. When I feel that my cellulite is practically invisible, I will cut down on my use to two time a week. I hope that will be enough. This stuff isnt exactly cheap.

Mascara -Tarte - Four Day Stay Lash Stain
RosieDee 3/28/2010 7:36:00 AM
Wow, pretty rough reviews on here. I totally get why people are so upset with this: if they came across it looking for a stain, they were mislead. And if they got it in the Sephora mascara sample kit (like I did) they were also misled, because its not a regular mascara that you try on for a little bit then take off to try the next one. This is actually the ultimate waterproof mascara. I was looking online for a mascara that I can go swimming in for summer time. I was shocked to discover I already had such a mascara in my possession! So I put it on with my makeup mirror...SLOWLY...making sure the first eye dried before going on the next. Then I went about my day. I wore this for three days, during which time I showered as usual and washed my face (splashed water on the eye area but didn't scrub that area--obviously). I removed it at the end of day three with Neutrogena eye makeup remover (the one that comes in the blue bottle and you have to shake to activate). It came off supper easy...I dont usually wear waterproof mascara but I cant see why everyone is having such a hard time taking it off. I found that in the morning, if I slept on the side, my eyelashes were squished, but they were easily put back in place with a little comb(slowly, they were stiff). I did lose an eyelash or two overnight, but we lose eyelashes all the time anyway (and I'm growing my eyelashes with careprost anyway). Finally, the mascara/stain/whatever, lengthens and gives just a little volume. Mostly it holds my curl. This will be my summer mascara for sure.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Latisse Lash Growth Drops
RosieDee 3/5/2010 12:43:00 PM
Hi! This review is for Careprost, which is considered the generic Latisse (it has the active ingredient without the brand name and price). I've been using it for five weeks now. This Monday I will start my sixth week. I've been using it nightly along with an eyelash conditioner. The first two weeks I was using ONE drop for both eyes AND both eyebrows. Felt like enough. Then I saw the amazing results of a girl from IAMTAN forum, who was using a drop per eye, and I thought "why am I being so stingy, this stuff is only ten bucks!" so I started using one drop per eye since week three. Let me start by saying that yes, this stuff is making my eyelashes grow. From what I saw on the Latisse website (which I use as a comparison) results aren’t noticeable on bare lashes until week 8. However, with mascara on I started to see results after two weeks. My mascara seemed to be working better and my lashes appeared longer. I cant say that they have been growing non stop because at week five my lashes are barely longer than at week three, but what I HAVE noticed is that I have more lashes. I see many small eyelashes growing in between my eyelashes and some seem to be curling right away. I have about three rows of eyelashes now in some places. Some gaps I had are filling in with tiny lashes, which I expect to grow longer. I think thickness is more important than length, otherwise we'd just have spidery lashes that arent visible! But, like I said, results are usually not dramatic until after week eight so im trying to be patient! There are a lash or two on each eye that seem extra long and stretch beyond all my other lashes. Im hoping they are the indication of what my other lashes will catch up to in the next couple weeks! In the meanwhile, my lashes look great with mascara on. I can go without eyeliner. Feeling good. :) I have also been using it on my eyebrows and I find that my existing hairs are longer but I am hoping to grow thicker hair in places where the hairs are really thin (like baby hairs), therefore eliminating the need to fill them in with a pencil, but so far I cant say im satisfied with the progress on my eyebrows.

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Drysol - Dab-on Antiperspirant
RosieDee 3/3/2010 2:20:00 PM
This is probably the quickest I have ever reviewed a product, actually....its the quickest any product has delivered results for me! I have horrible underarm sweating. It doesnt matter how cold it is outside, or how little physical activity im doing. I notice that my sweating gets worse when im nervous or stressed, but I also start sweating for no real reason as well. I get really ugly pit stains and its so embarrassing. So, I bought Drysol from ebay and it arrived yesterday. I was so disappointed with the package. The container was smaller than I imagined and it wasn't the 'dab on' one, so it sucked to apply; I had to apply it with my fingers....eeew. Yes, it stung. For about half an hour (i put it on about three hours before bed. I didn't want to be kept up by the stinging). It also got a little itchy. Overall it wasn't pleasant, but to me it wasn't unbearable because I was expecting it from the reviews I read. Well, today i woke up took a shower, put on some of my Dove deodorant (I like how it smells, but it never stopped my sweating). I've been running around stressed at work today, wearing a button up with a tight t-shirt underneath. A couple of times, I've felt the wave of heat I get when I stress, which usually follows my sweating. But I haven't gotten any pit stains! No sweat! I cant believe its working already. Ah im so freaking happy!!

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Nizoral AD Shampoo
RosieDee 12/6/2009 11:07:00 AM
I have thick, dry hair that can't be washed more than once a week, but lately I had to wash it every three to four days at the minimum because of the itch and dandruff even right after washing. I used this shampoo once five days ago and I noticed the dandruff improved right away. There was NO dandruff or itching the first couple of days and at this five day mark I am noticing VERY little to no dandruff, and my scalp still feel fresh. I noticed that this shampoo mixes very well with my conditioner (Herbal Essences Hydralicious) and it left my hair nicely detangled. For people with thick hair like mine, its important to find shampoos and conditioners that mix well together chemically or detangling will be hard. Anyway, this seems to be working nicely. UPDATE: the second time I used this it worked even MORE. I went two weeks without flakes and NO itch at all. This stuff has saved my hair. :)

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
RosieDee 11/22/2009 9:37:00 AM
I'm changing my review of this Product after using it for over a month. I'm giving a 3 because all the formulations make my face look shiny after a while. At first, I didnt mind it because I usually have dry skin. But after a while it makes me look like I have oily skin, which isnt ver attractive. The coverage is great and it goes on really well and doesnt break me out.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
RosieDee 10/23/2009 12:07:00 PM
I have combination dry skin that started breaking out late last year. Acne products dry up my face a lot so I always incorporate a good, rich moisturizer. Your skin cannot heal without moisture. Anyway, I added Witch Hazel to my facial routine and im so freaking glad I did. I really think it helped clear up my skin alot. It smells weird, and it doesnt really feel like its doing anything when I put it on; it doesnt tingle or anything. But it has cleared my skin quicker than anything i've used. I used to have really clear skin with zero effort up until late last year. I started breaking out in deep pimples on both sides of my face and they wouldnt go away. I tried alot of things, but Clean & Clear Advantage really helped control the breakouts a lot. Still, it wasnt quite enough, my skin never quite cleared all the way. And if I fell out of my routine for a few days i would start breaking out again. Last week I was really desperate, my skin was getting bad again and I decided I was done using so many acne products on my face. My face looked the best back when I just washed it with water. But i'm not to that point just yet, so I kept using the Clean & Clear Advantage face wash, only I washed it off right after lathering it on (instead of massaging it in like the instructions say). I tone using Witch Hazel. Then I use the Clean & Clear Advantage moisturizer. After that dries, I use my Neutrogena visibly even moisturizer because my skin tends to over dry. I've seen results in days. Im so happy. I just have to keep this up; morning and night until my skin clears completely then I'll try to wean off the Clean and Clear little by little. The less chemicals you put on your face, the better. Try this, its cheap and its natural. Just make sure to moisturize!

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
RosieDee 5/29/2009 12:19:00 PM
UURGH. If only i'd read the reviews before buying this thing. All I can say for the good is that it does lengthen, but its almost impossible to notice this because it leaves your lashes SO thin they are almost invisible. It does not build because it dries too quickly and therefore does nothing in terms of volume. I wish that was the worst part about this, but it isnt... IT SMELLS HORRIBLE! I have to hold my breath when I apply it and it doesnt help because the smells linger. I cant explain how horrible it smells...its like pure pollen. I know, weird...and I have allergies, so go figure. By far the worst mascara I've ever tried. I am going to Sephora today to try Smokey Lash by Makeup Forever. My favorite youtube makeup reviewer is raving about it. :)

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
RosieDee 3/20/2009 11:50:00 PM
I. LOVE. THIS. STUFF Yeah. What more can I say? One coat makes my lashes are longer and darker, but natural. But the best part of this mascara is that its a buildable mascara...so I can put on as many coats as I want to get the effect I want. No clumping.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Petting Pink
RosieDee 1/12/2009 11:46:00 AM
This is by far my favorite lip gloss...ok, its not really a lip gloss, but why would you even need a lip gloss when you have this?!! The reason I love it is because it smooths out my lips when they are dry and cracking. Its way better than chap stick (sometimes chap stick makes it worse). I love the color it looks very natural on me. My boyfriend hates it when I wear my usual lip gloss, he doesnt like to feel the residue on his lips and says its sticky, but when I started wearing Mac Lip Conditioner...he stopped complaining! We were in the car the other day and he asked me if I had Chap Stick. I smoothed some lip conditioner on his lips with my finger and he rubbed his lips together and said "hmmm...this is niiiice," and I laughed myself silly because the color looked so girly on him. If its good enough for a manly Marine...I think its good enough for me...hehehe

Other -Unlisted Brand - Vicks Vapor Rub
RosieDee 1/11/2009 7:42:00 AM
Ok, You all might think I'm crazy, but I LOVE Vicks Vapor Rub. I dont use it for the purposes it is intended for. I have extreamly dry skin which makes me prone to rashes sometimes. Well, Vicks knocks rashes right out, almost overnight. Recently, I was breaking out in pimples around my cheeks and Jaw line. I wasnt sure what was causing it, but I was scared that my previously smooth complextion was developing ACNE! YIKES! Ok, Maybe it wasnt acne, it was more bumps than pimples. (GROSS ALERT) When I would get a pimple or two in the past, I would pop them then sanitize them with an acidic face toner and they would always dry out and heal like a cut. Well, this wasnt working this time! Anyway, I bought all of these acne face washes, toner, and creams. I used them faithfully every night and even bought a new pillow. But the bumps were still there! And new ones would come out!!! Finally, my mom goes "What is happening to your face?! Put some Vicks on it!" I had NEVER used Vicks on my face, so I was hesitant, but the night before yesterday I did it. At first, it was a little uncomfortable because my entire face felt really cold (I put it on as I would a face cream). Then the tingly sensation died away. I woke up yesterday and the bumps had gone down and the pimples that i had previously poped were scabs! I just peeled away the scabs and my skin was underneath (pink, ofcourse, I shouldnt have peeled off the scab.) Anyway, I love this thing. Try it out. I dunno if it will work for everyone, but it sure as heck works for me. BTW, my mom says only to use it at night and wash it off in the morning.

Treatments (Eye) -Unlisted Brand - Enormous (Massive) Lash
RosieDee 1/4/2009 10:21:00 AM
This is my final update on this product, as I have been using it for almost 9 weeks now. Does it work? Yes, it does. Does it work like it is advertised? No, it does not. Let me explain: My eye lashes are longer and thicker, but not to the dramatic extent I expected. I noticed it within three weeks. However, the difference is only seen when i have mascara on. I am disapointed, but not upset; I put on a buildable mascara (Lash Blast) and I can make my lashes look natural or more dramatic depending on how many coats I apply. My mom, sisters AND my boyfriend have all commented on my lashes looking "very long". A co worker of mine who hadnt seen me in a month said my eyes look very bright and stand out. She said my makeup looked very nice and said my eyeliner looked very natural (I wasnt wearing eyeliner! only mascara!). Again, I personally didnt get the results I expected, but I cant be upset because I do feel better about wearing mascara now...my lashes look better than they did so I didnt lose anything, really. I am not done using this product, but Im not sure If I will buy it again after I am done. It was ALOT of money for very gradual changes. Ps. I ran out of the Talika product after week three because I followed someones advise to take of the stopper so that more product came on the brush. BIG mistake. I might just do maintance with the Talika product after I am done with this. UPDATE: (I had to edit my original post because I had 08 as the year instead of 09! old habit! Well, Its 1/16/09...I have been using this faithfully for two weeks. I started wearing mascara about four days ago. Basically, without mascara, I *think* my eyelashes are *a little* longer and maybe a little thicker. WITH mascara I know for a fact that my eyelashes are longer and thicker. Today, I am wearing Lash Blast by CG (amazing mascara, by the way). I feel really happy because I was not expecting to see ANY results for at least a month. My goal was to not have to wear makeup, but I feel good that I can at least stop at mascara and my eyelashes look good. I will post pics when I get home. I did take before pictures but only without mascara. All I know is that I wore Lash Blast a couple of months ago and it didnt make my eyelash look as good as they look now! As for my eyebrows...I think what I noticed before was the Talika product, which dries darker and makes your little hairs stand out more. I do think my eyebrows are thicker towards the end, but they havent filled in where I want them...im starting to think I never had eyebrows in that particular area and I should aim to growing them out underneath that area instead. I raised the rating by one point. Thanks for reading. I'll be back in another two weeks (if I can make it!) *********** 1/4/09 (started using it 1/2/09) (Disregard my ratings for now) I have just bought the NEW Formula of Enormous Lash. This is my first attempt at using lash enhancing products (virgin lashes!!!). This is also my first review!!! Im going to be very detailed so that hopefully it will help someone else. The night I bought the New formula I applied it over my lash line (upper and lower) before going to bed. As the directions stated, I dipped once for one eye and again for the other eye. I dont just swipe once, I make sure to smear it as close to the lash line as I can, using all the product on the little wand... I am also trying to fill in my eyebrows, so I also dip once per eyebrow. I do this twice a day; morning and night Its 10am and I am on day three right now (fourth application), so Im obviously nowhere near seeing results. But I am either going crazy, or I am seeing barely-there-fine-hairs growing where my eyebrows are sparse. I think that eyebrows do grow faster than eyelashes. I did take before pictures so in a few weeks I will compare!! My goal is to cut down on my makeup this year (I fill in my eyebrows and wear eyeliner/Mascara). I have high hopes for this product but I am also afraid because the New formula does not contain the main component that made the old formula so successful. Also, I dont see as many reviews for the New formula...this worries me. That is why, in conjunction to this product, I am conditioning my lashes with Talika Eyelash Conditioning Gel (which i started using the day before I bought EL). I use this on my lashes (like mascara) and use the EL on my lash line. I have read alot of reviews on the Talika product (aka Lipocils) and alot of people say that it conditions your lashes and can help your lashes grow, but after a couple of months. My impression is that Talika encourages growth by keeping lasher healthy, rather than actually stimulating growth (which I hear EL does). I have heard of other people having results using these products together, I am really praying for quicker results! I know they say you can wear mascara over these products, but im going to refrain from doing so; I will use only eyeliner instead (to keep my eyelash hairs from drying out or falling out). So far the only difference I see (beside the barely there eyebrow hairs) is that my eyelashes seem more conditioned/shiny (thank you Talika! lol) I'll be back in a week or so to update! Lets see what happens!!!
