A good summer-time moisturizer and/or hormonal type breakouts. I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin and this is a pretty good moisturizer for me. I cannot use most benzoyl peroxide based product because they irritate my skin and make it extremely red. I do however do well with salicylic acid based products. It sufficiently controls the oil in my t-zone without over drying the other areas. In the wintertime, I only use it around my time of month as it tends to be too drying during the winter months.

Mascara -Dejavu (Imju) - Fiberwig Lash Knockout

My second favorite mascara. This is my favorite fiber-type mascara. I prefer to use this for the evening. If my contacts are bugging me, I skip this mascara and use the tube type instead. You can get a little more volume and length with fiber-type mascara vs. tube-type. This is much pricier in the US/Sephora, so I order this online from a Hong Kong based company.

My HG of mascara! This tube mascara provides light natural coverage, perfect for the day/office. I switch between this and Fiberwig as my favorites. This mascara doesn't provide a ton of volume or length, but does provide some. Tip for tube-type mascara -- DO NOT apply multiple coats, apply what you need while the mascara is still wet on your lashes if you wait till it dries it will clump. I wear contacts and this stays on all day without flaking. When you are ready to remove, just use warm water to remove. A microfiber washcloth works best, because the tubes tend to stick to your face with a regular washcloth. I have not found this Japan made mascara available in the US. I order online from www.sasa.com, a Hong Kong company.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Herbaria- all soaps

This is the best soap out there, especially if you have sensitive skin. This is available directly from the manufacturer at www.herbariasoap.com. I have tried many of the soaps and have loved them all. I am scent sensitive, but with these quality soaps you don't have to worry. They are made with high quality essential oils. They are great for acne and other skin problems. Give them a try and you won't go back to store bought soap. For pets with allergies, the Pennyroyal Pet soap is a godsend. It is non irritating and easier to use then liquid pet shampoo. I have also tried the Jojoba shampoo soap and this is great if you are traveling or like backpacking because you can use this on your entire body including hair and also for shaving. Try it and you'll be hooked too. If kept out of direct water each bar last much longer than any other store bought soap.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer

Yuck -- what a waste of money! I saw this product get rave reviews and even though I have combination skin, I thought I would give it a try after all I could always use it a night cream. I got a bonus at work and decide to buy a set that included this product, I paid $285 for a set of various products. This product was horrible, it broken me out after just one use. I used as the said to at the store, i.e., warm a small amount between 2 fingers and tap into the skin. I guess it most have been the mineral oil in the product, but it broke me out really bad. I think this was one of my worst purchases ever. I can't believe people would pay $130 for a jar of this stuff. Don't waste your money and try something else!

Scrubs -Pro Activ - Deep Cleansing Wash

The regular 3-step Pro Activ is just to harsh for my adult skin, but I love this product. I use this product on my face almost every morning. I prefer to use this in the morning, since it is easier to rinse off in the shower. I wear contacts, so the splash method isn't easy to use and a wash cloth leaves grit behind. The deep cleansing wash also works well on back or chest acne, as well as razor bumps too. I use it as needed for these problems. I preferred the old packaging with a pump dispenser, but the first few pumps would discolor the product due to the metal piece in the pump. I believe people were sending the product back because of this so the lid is now a push tab on the top. I save and clean the old pump and continue to use this. I have recommended to others that have reactions to benzoyl peroxide and they all have liked it too. If it reddens the skin too much, just use once a day or every other day. This is one of the staples of my skin care regimen.

Cleansers -Shiseido - Purifying Cleansing Foam

Let me start by saying I have combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin. This is a great skin balancing cleanser, cleans without striping and leaves skin baby soft. If I am having a major breakout I have to alternate with a stronger cleansing product that contains salicylic acid. Overall one of the best cleaners I have ever used and I've tried a lot of them. A little goes a long way, so I gave it a 3 rating on price because it does last a long time.

This product worked much better when applies with the Skincare Renewing Serum, unfortunately they no longer make this product. When used with this product it took down the redness in my face. I have combination, acne-prone, sensitive skin and the combination of these products work wonderfully. Without the serum it is not the same, I think the serum was more of a concentration of the ingredients that tone down redness. Using without the serum it does seem to absorb as well and I must use very sparingly or risk a breakout. I will use until I can find a replacement regimen.

Treatments -Shiseido - The Skincare renewing serum

I love this product, but when I went to repurchase it was not available. I emailed the company and they said it was discontinued. In the email I also asked for a comparable product from their line and they didn't recommend anything. I loath poor customer service especially from a MU company with higher-end products. That being said, this product with a light coating of Shiseido The Skincare Day Moisture Protection SPF 15 afterwards and their purifying cleansing foam worked wonders on my sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin. It slowly helped heal acne and minimized redness in the skin that some harsher products cause. Unfortunately, without the use of Shiseido Renewing Serum, the results are NOT the same. So I guess it's back to the drawing board for a new skin care regimen that will work on my aging, sensitive, combination acne-prone skin (with occasional cystic acne). I'll be looking for reviews from others on this site to see if I can find something that will work.
