Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium
rated 4 of 5
RochelleRoyalty 5/30/2011 7:08:00 PM

----I'm reviewing the MAC MSFN in Medium. I tried this product in the summer time(NC25-NC30). I wouldn't buy this product again because the shades are too pink for me. If you have any questions, just message me and I'll be glad to help ^.^. ****Product: MSFN is $27(before tax) and has 10 g / 0.35 US oz. It's pretty pricey but I've heard that the product lasts a really long time! In the long run, it's worth it. ****Shade/Skintype: My shade for the winter is NC20 with yellow undertones(asian skin) w/ combo~dry skin. My shade for the summer is NC25-NC30 with yellow undertones(asian skin), especially my neck w/ combo~dry skin. ****Coverage: Sheer-light almost medium. As a setting powder(over foundation), the coverage is sheer applied with a powder brush. I can use MSFN to even out my skintone too. I just use a denser brush(kabuki), apply MSFN, spritz my face with water, then apply another layer of MSFN...then repeat one more time around my mouth & cheek area(that's where most of my discoloration is). That's it...any more of the powder will give the cakey look :p ****Colors: MSFN shades run more pink toned than yellow. I think the only warm(yellow) tones are Light Medium(Light Plus) and Medium Dark. --**Medium is not a good color match for me when I use it to even out my skin tone. It's way to pink and a bit light on me so I think that Medium would match people around NW20-NW25. When I use MSFN to set foundation with a powder brush, it is very sheer. ****Finish: Satin but more towards matte. Natural looking skin. It isn't drying either. ****Lasting ability: This does last on my face but about 3 hours later, you do have to touch up. I tried it out when I attended a wedding and used MSFN to set over MAC F&B. It gave me a beautiful finish but around 3 hours or so, my face got oily around my cheeks and T-zone area. ****Photography: I thought using MSFN during photography would be fine but it does have titanium dioxide which can make your face look pale in photos so beware of that! I took a lot of photos using flash and in some pictures my face looked pale and some didn't. Be careful if you want to use this during photography! -----Pros:----- -Lightweight -Easy to use -Beautiful satin finish -No breakouts/irritations -Doesn't give the cakey look -Not drying -Can use MSFN alone to even out skintone -Product lasts a long time before you run out -----Cons:----- -Most of the shades run pink! (I think except Light Medium(Light Plus) & Medium Dark). -Can make your face look pale under flash photography(contains titanium dioxide) -Can make your face oily through the day -Need to touch up -No mirror -Packaging can get messy

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Pure & Free Baby SPF 60
rated 5 of 5
RochelleRoyalty 5/21/2011 8:07:00 PM

*If you have questions about the Neutrogena Pure&Free Baby Sunblock, you can message me! I'll be glad to help :) **I have used a chemical sunscreen(Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil Free SPF45) before and the ingredients(Octinoxate, Octisalate, Oxybenzone) in it just irritated my skin and caused me to have redness, irritations, and rashes on my face. If that happens to you, I really suggest you to switch to physical sunblock. The ingredients in physical sunblock contains the active ingredients: Titanium dioxide and Zinc. :) -----Pros:----- Physical Sunblock No breakouts/rashes/irritations High SPF Lightweight No sticky feeling Affordable (10$~3oz) Packaging(Squeeze tube) Doesn't make your face oilier through the day Less is more! Dries matte Great under face makeup Lasts all day (set w/powder) ~ I use MAC Careblend -----Cons:----- Thick Can leave a white cast so don't use too much! Can be hard to blend (Work fast!) Lasts 1-3 hours without setting powder

Liquid -Almay - Almay Truly Lasting Color longwear makeup
rated 4 of 5
RochelleRoyalty 5/6/2011 9:10:00 PM

----This is an in-depth review for the Almay Truly Lasting Color(TLC) LongWear Liquid Foundation w/SPF15 in Buff & Neutral. All in my opinion and experience. Below the long review is a short "Pros/Cons" (like a summary). :) If you have questions, please message me and I'd be glad to help! ****Product: Great pump! It's controllable which is very good in my book haha. The cheapest I've seen Almay TLC go for is around $10(30mL~1oz.) which is decent, to me, for a drugstore foundation. ****Shade/Skintype: My shade for the winter is NC20 with yellow undertones w/ combo~dry skin. My shade for the summer is NC25-NC30 with yellow undertones, especially my neck w/ combo~dry skin. ****Coverage: It has medium coverage but can be sheered out. It's not buildable because it can get cakey very quick. It feels lightweight on the face, too. ****Colors: Buff(Light shade w/ yellow tones) would be a good match for people that are NC15 or even NC10 that has yellow undertones. Naked(Light-medium shade w/pink tones) would be a good match for NW20. Neutral(Beige shade w/a little bit of pink tones) would be a good match for people that are NC/NW25-NC/NW30. --**(For the summer) I mixed Buff and Neutral together to match my neck because Buff is too light & the shade up from Buff, Naked, is too pink. So that's why I chose Neutral. The two colors(Buff&Neutral mixed together) matches decently but not perfectly. (I would say it matches 6.5-7/10). ****Finish: Satin but more towards matte. Natural looking skin. ****Lasting ability: I've applied it to my face for school at 7 a.m. and went through a day of school (86 degrees) and it held up well until I removed the foundation in the evening/night. ****Application: This product is easy to blend but it is very drying so make sure to moisturize very well before applying the foundation on or it'll look very cakey. I like applying Almay TLC with a stippling brush but I spray my brush about 3 times with water to sheer out the foundation. I set my foundation with MAC Studio Careblend in Medium Plus. ****Photography: Since it has SPF 15 in it, it does leave your face with a white cast under flash photography. ****Removal: It's fairly easy to remove unlike Revlon Colorstay. Just make sure to use an oil-based makeup remover to remove your foundation and wash your face with a cleanser afterwards! -----Pros:----- Pump Less is more! (Don't pump out so much, use little by little) Feels lightweight Medium coverage Can be sheered out Blends easily Natural results Evens out skintone Covers redness No oxidation No breakouts I think this would be great for oily skin -----Cons:----- Drying Can get cakey throughout the day Finding a good match*most shades are pink except Buff* White cast in flash photography -Great foundation but I wish Almay TLC had more yellow shades than pink. It was a bit drying for my combo-dry skin even when I moisturized. It might have not worked for me, but it might for you. Everyone's skin is different. Give it a try! :)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 3 of 5
RochelleRoyalty 1/29/2011 3:35:00 AM

This is a long, in-depth, informative review for the Revlon Colorstay in Normal/Dry. If you have questions for this product, you can always message me and I'll be glad to help you. ^.^ There is a quick short "Pros/Cons" at the end of the review. :) ****Coloring: My skin coloring is NC20(winter) for MAC and NC25-NC30(summer). I have very yellow tones(warm~asian skin) on my neck, which is where I try to match the foundation to. ****Skin Type: I have Combo/Dry(winter)&Combo/Oily(summer) with mild sensitivity for both winter&summer. ****Price: I bought this for $10(plus tax~1oz./30mL) at Walmart, which isn't too expensive & it's the cheapest I've seen or maybe at Target too. ****Product Color: I bought the shade 180 Sand Beige. It's a neutral toned color but it does has pink tones, from what I see. Matches me pretty okay, I'd say 6.5-7/10, since my neck is more yellow. ****Coverage: Covers redness, blemishes, evens skin tone, doesn't look cakey & natural results(with the application/technique method I use~explained below). ****Technique: I like to apply this with either my fingers or a synthetic traditional foundation brush. I spray(2-4 sprays) my tool with water first(this way it's easier to blend/it'll sheer out the foundation to give it a natural finish). ****Application: You need to apply moisturizer & primer(The foundation can emphasize your dry spots&it is a bit drying)! I always dot one half of my face and work in sections with the foundation(you don't need a lot) then start to blend it out...FAST! Most of the time I use my fingers. Then I just set it with powder(I use NYC Translucent Loose Powder) ****Photography: In my experience, when I took a picture in natural lighting without flash, with Revlon CS on my face, it doesn't leave a white cast on, the picture looks great. In natural lighting/dark with flash, you will have a white cast//your face will seem about 1 shade lighter than usual with flash! Basically, I would not recommend for photos! ****Tip: You need to blend fast or it'll become hard to blend because it dries really fast! When you're finished with the application, if you have a streak mark or something, just spray your tool with more water then just blend it out! ****Removal: Here is where it's difficult. I think you need a really good oil-based makeup remover to remove this foundation because it does NOT budge if you use a non oil based makeup remover to remove it. Make sure to use a good exfoliater or cleanser afterwards to remove the "left over" foundation on your face. If you used a foundation brush for this product, please wash it really well because the product stays on the brush too! ~Short summary of my review: ------Pros:----- Medium-full coverage Affordable Creamy Less is more!!**Be careful when you pour it out Dries fast(might be a con for some) Matte finish(but not TOTALLY matte-TINY shimmer) Feels lightweight Natural results(the way I apply it) Evens out skintone Covers blemishes(pimples) & my redness Doesn't look cakey/"mask" like Feels/looks like skin Long lasting/No budging No breakouts -----Cons----- Time consuming Need to get the technique/application right to make the foundation look nice Packaging~No pump Might pour out to much(Pour some out in a sample jar to save some product) Can be drying so apply moisturizer/primer Need to blend fast! Color range~Too pink/Barely any yellow toned shades

Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
RochelleRoyalty 5/2/2010 9:24:00 PM

This concealer is yellow, so if you have blue-ish under eye circles, please do not buy this product. It will just make your under eyes look green or even worse! I suggest using a peachy/orangey tone concealer instead. *I have Combo/Oily skin(summer) and Combo/Dry(winter). I'm NC20 and the color I used was Light/Medium. ~Pros: Feels light under eyes Only need a tiny bit(when using) Squeeze tube Covers well Medium-thick coverage No creasing/settles into fine lines No breakouts Easy to remove ~Cons: Looks "grainy" & drying. Use a moisturizer before applying! Expensive for d/s~ Look for deals(BOGOs)
