Loose Powders -Chanel - Poudre Universal Libre

Finally the setting powder I was looking for! Does not cake the foundation, makes it last longer, has no colour (I have it in naturelle). The jar is massive and you use really little product every time, so the price is not that bad if you consider this. I love this powder!

I'm a little surprised at some of these reviews, giving low ratings cos the product does not reduce wrinkles. Well, nothing that you apply onto your face and that cost less than 100£ a bottle can do that! What does that is plastic surgery and it's a lot more expensive than this product! What this product does (and does excellently in my opinion) is improve your overall skin appearance: since using this my skin is smoother, has a nice glow, has less imperfections. Overall my skin looks a lot nicer, period. I still have my 35 years old wrinkles, my sun marks, my spot scars. All of those I can take off (if I wanted to and if I had the money) going into plastic surgery! You cannot expect miracles from a face cream/serum, no matter how expensive it is. But to me this product delivers a very nice result of overall appearance improvement, and that's all I want and can ask for!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
rated 5 of 5

Finally! This is really The Foundation! It provides excellent coverage without looking cakey at all, shades are great (I am a perfect match to 3W1 Tawny, being a Mac NW25/30 and Intensity 3.0 in the DW Light), very easy to work with a brush, no need to set it (but if I manage to get a sample of the EL Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder I'll try it with that and update this review), no breakouts and lasting 12 hours. I went to buy the DW Light and the lady suggested I tried this one too and gave me a sample. Now I half regret having bought the DW Light as this provides a far better coverage. Anyway, will be my next buy after the light version is finished!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Expert Face Brush

Perfect brush for liquid foundation, nothing to add to this, really! It's just sad that my best brush is the one that looks the cheapest on the outside. I'd make it a little more sophisticated if I were Sam ;-)

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 4 of 5

So far so good! I comment on the packaging only because I have the EL primer and it's the same, however of the Double Wear light I still have just the sample. I read below somebody NW20/NW30 perfect match to #2, while for me it's #3, really perfect match. Due to the limited colour range, I suggest anybody to get 2 samples at least and wear it during the day. This foundation provides good coverage and nice finish (matt but still natural). It does not highlight my pores and/or my dry patches (unlike the invisible fluid by EL, which really clings on dry patches). Staying power is good, perfect for 6/8 hours, OK until I remove it in the evening. What I am not totally happy about, is that it's not the easiest to work with, it dries fast and you tend to use a good bit of product, that is why I put it down as expensive because I do not expect this to last me for a long time. This said, if the coverage is medium/high, it is kind of obvious that it'll be ticker and more difficult to work with... Anyway, with a good brush (Real Techniques Expert brush) it's doable, you have just to be a bit fast.

Liquid -Clinique - Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology
rated 1 of 5
Ritarella 10/1/2012 12:25:00 PM

This is the first foundations I ever brought back to the store (and, amazingly, they actually took it back and refunded me!). It gives a horrible wax-like finish, dewy to the point that you look like a wax statue. As well, it was a bit on the grey side (I had Neutral as a colour, being NW25/NW30 in Mac), but I think this is normal due to the fact that it has to contrast redness. However not for me at all, coverage is too much but in a very unnatural way. Further to this, I suspect it gave me a few spots, anyway I stopped having them when I stopped using this. Finally, it's super hard to work with, it dries in 2 seconds.

Liquid -MAC - Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
Ritarella 9/22/2012 3:47:00 PM

I am unsure about this one and I was trying to read all the other reviews to understand whether it was just my problem, and apparently it is not, at least not for a couple of the issues I found. First of all, this is waaaaaaaaay to shimmery, when the sun hits your face (which does not happen often here in the UK but sometimes it does), you glow like a bicycle reflector in the night. Why did they do that at Mac?! Mah. Secondly, I do agree that the coverage is light, however it is buildable, but the shades suffers a bit, it becomes darker. Lastly, I am a fantastic match to NW30 in the Mineralize Foundation compact, so I just assumed I was the same in this satinfinish liquid one... WRONG! It's too dark for me. So bear this in mind, the shades are different across formulations. I don't know if I'll buy this again, I still have to decide what to make of this... EDIT: won't buy again, this might be OK for an evening out during the summer, but I can't go to work covered in glitter/shimmer...

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Invisible Fluid Makeup
rated 3 of 5
Ritarella 9/22/2012 3:39:00 PM

I was given a sample of this (good size sample, very good service in Debenhams, for people in the UK) after a very good shade match done by the woman at the counter. There in the shop, the foundation looked great, the coverage was buildable on areas where I needed the most, while light on the rest; nice matt but natural finish. However it clings on dry or problematic areas and highlights them oddly. I am not sure whether all water based foundations do this, but this one does particularly. Which is a shame because other than this, it's a nice foundation. Anyway, I will not buy it and I am glad I got the sample before.

Foundations -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex SPF 6 for Combination/Oily Skin

I am really in two minds with this foundation. The coverage is great, even if a tiny bit too cakey, but it does cover imperfections greatly. It lasts for the day as well (wearing off, of course, but not badly). The problems are two, basically: it becomes really grey on my face a few minutes after applying it (I have true beige, being a NW30 in Mac), it makes my face look dirty or something, really weird thing. And applying it is not pleasant at all, it dries in about 3 seconds, it's really hard to get it right with a brush (which is my absolute favourite way of applying foundation). It's a shame as the coverage that it gives it's just exactly what I look for. EDIT: it might have been the stupid brush's bristles running colour... Well, they are running a bit of black/grey so it could be that. I'll try with anther brush and update accordingly.
