For reference, I'm pretty fair and have acne prone, combination skin. This powder didn't break me out. I love this boxed powder. It works well to contour and sculpt cheeks, but quickly! I first purchased this back in 2006/2007. I used it as prescribed with the included brush, sweeping it across my cheeks with the highlighter on top, bronzer on the bottom. And yes, it's a good idea to just tap off the excess. The shimmer didn't bother me as I felt it really gave me a nice glow, plus I got compliments often (always a plus!) It's really great too during the summer if you have a bit of color and want a low maintenance look. Use TM, a sweep of powder, 10 on the cheeks, the highlighter of 10 on your eyes, and mascara. BAM, you're done, polished and fresh looking! The only reason I never repurchased this was the price, I could use highbeam or a highbeam dupe (like e.l.f.'s lilac petal) with a bronzer and get a similar look, just taking a tad bit more time and the products would last me longer than this boxed powder. There are many dupes and wannabes for Benefit 10, but none come close because of the highlighter in particular. To me, 10's highlighter is like a powder version of highbeam! LOVE!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Mineral Eyeshadow in Trendy

I love this! So surprised at the poor reviews. I use it as part of my everyday eye look. It's basically a VERY shimmery nude. Which isn't a bad thing. I use it on my lids by itself, or over barely branded color tattoo for a bit more oomph (for a natural eye.) It really brightens, and makes me look wide awake. I also use this over a much darker color to brighten and shimmer. In the container, it looks much darker than it really is. I'm a fair individual, and it shows up on my shimmering nude. I haven't had any problem with fading as the other reviewers did. I love this! I'm looking forward to buying more e.l.f. mineral shadows!

I love this, and use it almost every day. It's a very shimmery, frosty white loose mineral shadow. I do not use it all-over my lid as I think it's harsh and unnatural. However, I love it as a highlighter beneath my brows and on the inner corners of my eyes. It's really very beautiful and brightening when used that way. I've been using it since I got it in a swap in the fall, and I've barely made a dent. It's going to last forever, and at three dollars for what e.l.f. sells it at, I'll purchase another immediately when I eventually do need a new one! LOVE!

I really love e.l.f. products, however this was a dud and epic fail for me. They were extremely chalky with no pigment. I tried them dry, I tried them wet, I tried them with primer, without primer. All epic fails. Also, the colors were odd. I think I was expecting this neutral palette to have warm undertones to the colors, but they were definitively leaning cool. I was actually going to throw this away, but I gave it to one of my sister's friends who never wears makeup and wanted to play around with them. If she hadn't taken them, they would be in the trash. Thank goodness it was only 3 bucks.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Ultra Mentha Lip Shine

I truly love this stuff. It's a tad thick, but smoothes well over the lips. It's super, super shiny and it's very moisturizing. This stuff has actually gotten me compliments on how amazing my lips look, and questions as to what gloss I was wearing. It smells good, and no, it does not actually freshen the breath, but the mint scent it strong, so it may seem that way. Plus, the mint is so very refreshing as you breathe it in. I'd recommend this for sure. I haven't used it in some time, mainly due to not getting the BBW SAS to stock up.

Masks -Equate - Sulfur Mask
RiskQn 5/21/2013 12:25:00 AM
This is an ok mask. My skin is combination and acne prone. I get cystic, hormonal acne, stress acne, not whiteheads and black heads. For my skin, I've found clay masks to be a wonderful overnight treatment for this sort of acne. I picked this mask up some time ago thinking that the sulfur would be better than a regular clay mask. I had gotten a deluxe sample years ago of a DDF sulfur mask and it worked well. Also, I do like mineral sulfur concealing powders. I've used this sulfur mask as an all-over face mask, and as a spot treatment. As a face mask, I like it better. It makes my skin feel clean, not dry, and my pores seem smaller. As an overnight spot treatment though, it doesn't almost nothing. I think it was actually making my acne worse but I'm not positive. Perhaps the overnight treatment was too irritating. That could be why I had better results as a face mask. Either way, I give it a 3. Good face mask. Bad spot treatment. I went back to using my freeman avocado and oatmeal mask as an overnight spot treatment and it's effective. The next morning, all zits have decreased in redness and size (again, these are under the surface cystic, hormonal, not average surface acne). However, that's just my skin.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mascara

I too stocked up and bought like 6 of these at the dollar tree some time ago. I've been rationing them out, lol because I'm pretty sure its been discontinued and I do love it! It's a great everyday mascara (it doesn't give me a falsies look), it lengthens and volumizes, the lashes don't get hard after the mascara dries, and it doesn't smudge. The brush is very full and has a lot of soft yet flexible bristles. The formula is not too wet or dry, just right in my opinion. It has been well worth the dollar I spent on each tube, and I'm going to be sad when my stash runs empty!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo

This is so amazing!!! For me, it's a PERFECT neutral eyeshadow. (for reference I'm very fair with neutral to slightly warm undertones) Not gonna lie, I have tried Stila's kitten and I was seriously underwhelmed. But THIS? It looks fantastic by itself and brightens up my whole face. (I did my typical neutral/natural face yesterday using this eyeshadow, and I got compliments all day on how fresh and luminous my face was looking. I really didn't do much different, other than this shadow. I'm not exaggerating, seriously!) It's not too peachy, too pink, too champagne, or too frosty white. It's also very, very versatile. I sometimes sweep other colors over it and use it as a shadow base. I have also used it on my cheek bones, brow bone, and cupid's bow as a highlighter. And, no matter how I use it, it lasts ALL day. I put it on my lids this morning at 7AM and just removed my makeup at 11 pm. Any fading to my eye makeup was barely perceptible, if at all. YAY!! HOLY GRAIL!!! (I don't think a basic neutral shadow has ever gotten to that status for me before :)

Mascara -E.L.F. - 3 in1 Mascara Lengthen,Define & Volumize
RiskQn 5/9/2013 11:37:00 PM
This is a great mascara! As far as these plastic silicone brushed mascaras, e.l.f. makes my favorites, even over the popular ones by CG, maybelline, etc. :) This takes third place after the e.l.f. lash extending mascara and e.l.f. mineral infused. The 3 in 1 lengthens well, separates like a dream with no clumps, and volumizes a little bit too. The ball on the end makes application to lower lashes easy, mess free, and precise. This is very versatile and I will defnitely be repurchasing! The only thing is that the brush took a few tries to get used to using, but not problems now! (Also, the wonderful thing about these e.l.f. mascaras is that I'm not at all tempted to make them last longer than the recommended three months which isn't healthy or sanitary :)

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Essential jumbo lip gloss stick
RiskQn 4/19/2013 11:25:00 AM
Oh.My.Gosh. LOVE these!!! I picked these up at my local Target last week for two dollars. I was going out of town and had forgotten chapstick and lipsticks at home in my flurry to leave the house. I stopped at target on my way knowing I could pick these up, that they got good reviews, and that they would do double duty for color and a bit of moisturization. When I got to my car befor I left the parking lot, I opened them to try out. (For reference, I am a pale-skinned female whose lips are perpetually dry. I use balms and chapsticks way more than traditional lipsticks.) COLORS: I picked up the colors "In the Nude" and "Pink Umbrella." I thought that both colors were great. Both are very pigmented for what they are. In the nude is a fantastic true nude. I was a bit afraid pink umbrella would be a tad on the bubble gum pink side but it has some rosy tones, so it is really a lovely pink color on the lips. I will be picking up the other two colors my target carries the first chance I get! FORMULA: The formula is creamy, but not thick and waxy, but not too thin either. I really think they got this formula right. It's not a gloss, but more of a tinted balm with way more staying power than a regular tinted balm and leaning a bit toward the lipstick side of things. Also, I'd seen some of the other reviewers complain about the smell being like toothpaste. It has peppermint oil in it, so that may be why. I personally don't mind it at all. Also, the soy, jojoba, and vitamin E definitely add some moisturization for sure! Basically, I can't say enough good things about these gloss sticks. I love them so very much. They may actually be HG for me. They are the perfect marriage of a gloss, a balm, a lipstick, and a stain. If I find the need to make an elf order soon, I'll probably order the rest of all the colors they have that I can't get at my local target. Oh yea, and did I mention that they're only TWO DOLLARS! and one of the best lips products I've ever used?? You should add at least one to your next elf order, or else run on over to target to pick one up. I really think you'll be very pleased.

Mascara -E.L.F. - Studio Mineral Infused Mascara
RiskQn 4/8/2013 6:40:00 PM
I've purchased this several times, and every time I used it again, I wonder why I waited to long to re-purchase :) It's a great mascara! I get no clumps and no smudging. It lasts all day, and I get equal amounts of lengthening and volumizing (though the effects are not falsies or sky high lashes.) It's three dollars and better than pretty much every other plastic brushed mascara I've tried (maybelline great lash lots of lashes, covergirl lash exact, covergirl lashblast, etc.) The only plastic brush mascara that I like better is its sister, the e.l.f. studio lash extending mascara (which I love, it makes my lashes long!) I'm always going to have one or both of them in my makeup bag, especially for three bucks! P.S. A review below mentioned the ball at the end of the applicator. The only e.l.f. mascara with a ball on the end is the e.l.f. studio 3-in-1 mascara (which is decent, I'd place it third place for these plastic brush mascaras.) The mineral infused mascara that these reviews are for does not have a plastic ball on the end of the applicator.

Shampoo -Suave - Scalp Solutions anti dandruff shampoo Nourishing Coconut & Shea Butter
RiskQn 1/30/2013 2:19:00 PM
This is a great shampoo. It has the same amount of Pyrithione Zinc as head & shoulders. It did a decent job of keeping dandruff/dryness at bay. It was a bit moisturizing with the coconut and shea. I'll repurchase this, as long as I can't find H&S on sale. I do feel that H&S treats dandruff a bit better even though there is equal PZ in them both. Still, will likely be purchasing this again!

Eyeliner -E.L.F. - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

Serously? Liquid look with pencil-like application...at a dollar!? I really like this pen. I have only owned it in green though, so I cannot speak to the other colors. The green is fantastic though, especially when used with gold shadows, it's very lovely. I don't use it everyday, but it's lasted me a good while. The formula is definitely on the dry side, but I don't mind. I find that wetter formulas take longer to dry and therefore are more prone to smudging. I'd definitely repurchase this at a dollar.

LOVE this eyeliner! I put it on, and it stays in place! Plus, the color payoff is great. I've purchased this again, several times, usually when I have a wedding coming up, because this stays put through the tears. lol. Also, I currently work at a popular healthy mexican grill fast food chain. One night I got our hot (hotter than tobasco!) sauce in my eye. Eyes were tearing up, they had to be flushed out with eye washing fluid and water. My eye makeup held up with very minimal smudging, even after wiping the eye area, after all that liquid washing and tearing. Yea, I think colorstay eyeliner passes the test! :)
