This was my first purchase of a L'Oreal mascara; I have worn Dior Show for many years. I had heard a lot of good things about the Voluminous line and decided to give it a try. I like it; it goes on well, doesn't clump, hasn't smudged/smeared, and makes my lashes look pretty good. I would say I like it as much as the Dior, and the price point on the L'Oreal is a lot easier to swallow than the Dior. I'm not swooning over this, but I'd certainly repurchase.
I usually have trouble with red lipsticks; I need a yellow-based red or the shade will turn purple on me. This lipstick really is a true red; I can't really see either blue or yellow tinges to it. It looks very good on my very pale skin; I was afraid it would be too bright or clownish, but I'm happily surprised at how good it looks. It holds up decently well and felt OK on my lips. I normally wear Chanel lipstick, so nice to know that L'Oreal has a good product at a price that I would re-purchase. Great color, nice texture. Recommend.
Shampoo -Trader Joe's - Balanced Moisturizing Nourish Spa Shampoo

Very good basic shampoo made from organically derived herbs. No bad ingredients, and a 16 oz. bottle is less than $3.00. I gave up Kiehl's to use this stuff; very happy with the way my hair looks and feels, and extremely happy with the price. Would absolutely recommend!
This was a disappointment for me; the texture was sheer, which I like, but had less staying power than tinted lip balm, and went into every line and groove in my lips and made them stand out in full relief. The color, attractive in the tube, turned purple on my lips (to be fair, a lot of lipsticks from many different brands turn purple on me). This is also a smaller tube and much smaller lipstick size than my other Chanel lipsticks from the other ranges (Coco Rogue, Rogue Hydrabase and Aqualumiere). For $32, I'd like a much better product than this, and one in the standard Chanel product size. I won't be purchasing any more lipsticks in this line. Too bad, because I'm a longtime fan of Chanel cosmetics.
This was yet another disappointment in the Exclusifs line. To me it smelled a lot like Cormandel; very sweet and old-ladyish. Quite powdery on me. Fortunately I got this as a sample and saved myself $210 on a bottle of it.
Too sweet/syrup-y for me. I think it smells a bit old lady-ish too. Way too popular; I smell this everywhere I'll leave it to everyone else, thank you.
This is about the only red lipstick I've ever been able to wear, probably because it is sort of a persimmon-y color rather than a true red. The warm undertones are flattering to my very pale skin and don't overpower me the way most reds, even with warm undertones, do. I probably don't wear this "full strength", but it is still a distinct, strong statement. This is about the darkest color I'm able to wear, but I find myself reaching for it a lot more than I expected to. Looks beautiful; I would definitely re-purchase.
Why is it the worst scents stay on me for the longest time? Even soap couldn't get this wretched fragrance off of my skin. I got none of the lovely bits others have described with this perfume; I smelled like cantaloupes rotting in the sun for four days, and that is about all. Nothing changed about this scent from the first time I applied it until the next day when it finally wore off a bit. Just awful from beginning to end. Extremely glad I had a sample and not an entire bottle; this is a perfume I'll stay far away from forever.
I so wanted to love this; alas, it makes me smell like an ashtray. Bone dry with a smokey scent on me. I don't get any leather-y smells, just ashes. Really, on me this is total scrubber; fortunately it doesn't last too long on my dry skin. I don't have the best nose for picking out individual notes, all I can say is that this was a huge disappointment to me. The descriptions and reviews I read made it sound really sexy and intriguing, so not the case! Very glad I had purchased a sample instead of the entire bottle.
I like some vetiver fragrances, but not this one. To my nose it smelled a lot like walking into my hair salon, where everything they use is from Aveda. Overwhelming, a bit too vanilla-sweet, and overall unpleasant. Like at least a few other posters, I also got a strong whiff of burning rubber. I got this as a sample from Perfumed Court; I wish I'd gotten a smaller sample as this is pretty awful stuff.
I liked this product while it was still useable, but it dried out rather fast (especially for $20). There was still a lot of product left in the pot when I had to toss it. I liked the color and texture; had no problems using it at all. It went on well and lasted all day long. Just very disappointed that it dried out in the pot so fast it wasn't a worthwhile purchase.
Styling Products -Living Proof - No Frizz Medium-Coarse hair
Reese325 6/12/2010 11:40:00 AM
I have extremely thick, very curly hair that can be very frizzy. The Sephora SAs were practically slobbering over this product, so I spent the $35 and tried it. Zero benefit. I am not trying to straighten my hair out; I don't mind the waves and curls, but I do mind the frizz. This didn't help me at all. I put on a LOT of product (as instructed), and with my regular blow-dry routine I saw zero in the way of frizz decline. Never again!
This is a very pale, subtle pink; I prefer my hands to have very slight color with some shine, but not blinding. This does the trick for me. The consistency of the polish was fine, it lasted a decently long time and was flattering to my very pale skin tone. I can understand how a lot of people would find this just too discreet but it was exactly what I wanted. Good choice if understated and low-key are your cup of tea. Would re-purchase.
