Styling Products -Redken - WOOL SHAKE COTTON-INFUSED GEL SLUSH

Talk about texture! A little goes a long way. A few sprays give great beach waves for me. Too many makes my hair look like dreads (I learned that the hard way). I love the musky smell. It's a great alternative to beach spray. Less drying than beach spray when using the right amount.

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 5/22/2013 11:01:00 PM

Pleasantly surprised with this product. I read the reviews before purchasing and decided to try for myself. I totally agree that the absolute most important thing is to get color matched as the colors do not pay off on skin the way they look in the compact. That being said, this is perfect coverage for my slightly uneven skin tone. I don't have blemishes to cover so the medium coverage is just enough. I use a makeup sponge and don't find it to be cakey at all. The texture ends up very smooth and velvety. Very happy with my purchase!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA Natural Oil - Healing Oil Treatment
rated 2 of 5

I got this for free at my salon and was excited to try it because of all the rave reviews. In short, I hated it. There are so many silicones it immediately gave my bleached blonde product sensitive hair split ends - EVERYWHERE. With the right products I never have split ends. Silicones always give them to me and I should have known with this I would get them. Not moisturizing, and the OPPOSITE of healing. At least I got it for free.

Skincare - Face -St. Ives - Scrub Free Exfoliating Pads
rated 4 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 11/4/2012 1:43:00 PM

WOW! Did not expect to like this as much as I do. Before using these exfoliating pads, I have used Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads (LOVE), Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle Peel Pads (blah) and Alba Botanical Pineapple Enzyme cleansing cloths (eh). To put this into perspective I would say it's not as good as Dr. Dennis Gross but better than Peter Thomas Roth - and for a fraction of the price a really great option to try. I certainly can live with using this as $125 is not something I feel comfortable spending every month (though I do love those Alpha/Beta peel pads). - - I use these morning and night and have noticed a reduction in clogged pores. When I use with Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist and La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum, my pores are teeny tiny, skin is clear and fine lines are gone. Great results for $5. - - My skin: combination/dry, easily clogged pores, fine lines when too dry; tolerant of chemical peels.

Toners -Mario Badescu - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater
rated 4 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/24/2012 10:06:00 AM

I do like this toner. I have found when I spritz it further away from my face the fine most reduces oil, whereas when I spritz it closer and allow my skin to get more wet it moisturizes very well. I like that I can get two uses out of it in that way. Sets makeup well and rehydrates on dry days. However, I have better experience with other toners for evening skin tone. I mostly use this over makeup and not after cleanser in the am/pm. I use Dermalogica Antioxidant Hydramist as my post-cleansing toner as I find it works better for that purpose. All that to say I really like this and much prefer it over Avene Eau Thermale and Dr. Perricone Super Watercress toner which are both too drying/unimpressive.

Moisturizers -Mario Badescu - Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/22/2012 7:28:00 PM

I'm quickly falling in love with this daytime sunscreen/moisturizer. My skin is very dry and this is the perfect amount of moisture for me. When I use powder over the oily sheen disappears and the moisture sinks into my skin. The smell is subtle but I enjoy it. Not as heavy as Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30 and works just as well to moisturize at 1/3 of the price. I love it!

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
rated 3 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/22/2012 12:08:00 PM

Great for setting makeup although as for the other claims I'm not thoroughly convinced. My skin leans towards dry and this doesn't hydrate my skin. I would recommend this for more oily skin that experiences shine throughout the day. As far as evening skin tone, Antioxidant Hydramist from Dermalogica works much better for me.

Lotions/ Creams -Aveda - Hand Relief
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/9/2012 6:40:00 PM

I used to hate this - not because it wasn't effective but because I really hated the smell (citrusy). But after using it on clients, it grew on me enough for me to purchase it for myself. I keep the small travel size in my bag and use it whenever I wash my hands or use hand sanitizer or whenever my hands need a little bit of moisture. I used to have dry peeling cuticles and I am serious - this stuff completely healed them. It even makes my hands look younger. I think we all get caught up in anti-aging for our face but I've found this is awesome for anti aging of hands (just as important!) definitely a staple for me to have in my purse.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Ultra Calming Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/9/2012 6:19:00 PM

My skin: combination-dry, prone to clogged pores and blackheads, some fine lines when too dry. ---- I didn't like this cleanser for my skin. I thought I would like the convenience of being able to simply wipe it off but the residue that was left clogged my pores and left my skin surface looking uneven. My skin responds so much better to the AGE Smart routine (I'm only 25 with no visible signs of aging). This caused my skin to get drier and seemingly more irritated over time. The age smart system evened out my skin tone so well and adding this to the mix made it uneven again both in texture and tone. Will be removing this from my routine.

Good versatile hairspray. Actually more of a medium hold than firm. Great for finishing blowouts.

Styling Products -Aveda - Be Curly Curl Enhancer
rated 4 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/3/2012 12:24:00 AM

When used with Be Curly Style Prep and diffuser, the results are more defined and tighter curls even in wavy hair. Great curl enhancer. One lippie off because it doesn't entirely prevent frizz. Not perfect but good.

Shampoo -Aveda - Pure Abundance
rated 2 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/3/2012 12:21:00 AM

Have used this on many clients and had only so-so results with volume. I actually couldn't tell you if this had any effect at all as I got the same results with Smooth Infusion + Phomollient. Definitely better volumizing systems out there. Pureology is currently my favorite.

Sunscreen -Dermalogica - AGE Smart Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/3/2012 12:14:00 AM

Great sunscreen. Doesn't clog pores like other sunscreens have done to me in the past but is moisturizing enough to relieve any tightness after cleansing. Does leave a bit of sheen on the face but goes away instantly after putting powder over. Love it. My HG sunscreen for face.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - AGE Smart multivitamin thermafoliant
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/3/2012 12:10:00 AM

Love this exfoliator. Provides microdermabrasion results and I only need to use once a week. Pores are clean, no white heads, acne scars are lightened, skin is smoother and brighter, skin tone is more even. What else can I say? Love it! Use it with AgeSmart Skin Resurfacing Cleanser and Antioxidant Hydramist followed by moisturizer. I will purchase again especially since I only have to use it once a week so it should last quite awhile.

Lip Treatments -Dermalogica - Renewal Lip Complex
rated 5 of 5
RedLipsCatEyes 10/3/2012 12:04:00 AM

I will NEVER be without this. I have tried every Chapstick, lip balm, lip gloss - you name it - under the sun. Nothing compares to this for my constantly chapped lips. While other treatments had to be worn 24/7 to keep my lips smooth, I only have to apply this once at night before bed and once in the morning to get lasting softness. This doesn't cause my lips to feather or peel like other lip balms can do. It just moisturizes them. Period. The skin that was once dry and chapped on my lips is softened instantly and overnight my lips look soft and normal with no skin sloughing off. I love this stuff. After being disappointed time and again by products claiming to heal chapped lips, I've finally found my HG.
