Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Wow Lash
rated 2 of 5
RedHotPants 9/22/2011 1:48:00 AM

There's a reason this is only $3.99. Because it's CRAP. It's a really wet formula that clumps your lashes together and gives no volume. The drawing of the brush on the package is totally misleading...it's the same size as the brushes for their lengthening mascaras. This mascara is useable in a pinch, but if you're trying to look halfway decent I would not recommend.

Polishes -OPI - I Eat Mainely Lobster
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 8/6/2011 4:21:00 PM

This color is beautiful! More orange-y than coral. Very subtle shimmer but high shine. Perfect for summer; I wish I would've gotten this earlier than the first week of August. The polish is thick, not thin and runny like some of the OPI's I've been buying lately. Two coats is enough but I added a third just for a little extra oomph. I can't stop staring at my nails!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 7/31/2011 5:09:00 PM

I LOVE this brush. How can you not buy this, for $3!?!! It is soft, doesn't shed, dense, application is beautiful...I can use this for just the apples of my cheeks or use it to contour my cheek bones, this brush is awesome. Also the convenience factor of being able to run to Target and get this brush cannot be overrated. Have already recommended it to friends and will continue.

Liquid -Stila - Perfect & Correct Foundation
rated 3 of 5
RedHotPants 7/30/2011 3:35:00 AM

I like this foundation, but I really expected more from it. The packaging and design is really innovative and attractive. The formula of the foundation itself is cool, refreshing and light, and goes on very smoothly. I found this to give a fairly light amount of coverage, which initially didn't bother me because I don't like the look of full coverage foundation anyway. But it wasn't buildable and didn't even cover my mild redness or old acne scars. If my skin improved, I would definitely buy this again; but if I need to hide anything at all, this foundation does not work for me.

Bronzers -LORAC - TANtalizer Baked Bronzer
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 7/30/2011 3:30:00 AM

This bronzer is gorgeous. 98% of the time, I steer clear of anything shimmery for my face. But the shimmer of the TANtalizer baked bronzer is so subtle and gorgeous, I let it slide. It is surprisingly long-lasting; I wore it out for happy hour and then sweated out a night of dancing and my skin still looked sun-kissed by the time I got home. I only bought the $6 sample size at Ulta, and my only complaint would be the packaging is difficult to open. Otherwise, I'd say this is a pretty perfect bronzer.

Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - NEW BrowZings
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 7/16/2011 7:45:00 PM

This stuff is sweeeet!! Packaging is very cute-- comes with 2 mini brushes and a mini tweezer. The best thing about Browzings is it's a double-threat: you can use the brow wax on its own or with the brow powder. I usually alternate between the two on their own, because even the lightest colors are pretty dark on my dark blonde brows. Very easy to apply and get a natural look. Love!

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 7/14/2011 1:29:00 PM

Wowzers, this stuff is great. I started using it as an eye cream at night, which is amazing; it brightens my under-eye area and smoothes the few fine lines that I have. Works wonders on my neck, chest, and hands as well. It is very thick but absorbs easily; I actually prefer it to my Eucerin Intensive because it's less greasy and leaves my skin feeling soft, not sticky. I love the scent, too. This is simple stuff but a real miracle worker. A++

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Brush
rated 3 of 5
RedHotPants 7/14/2011 1:20:00 PM

Pretty darn good. Especially for $3. The brush head is pretty compact and small, but fairly dense and does not shed. It's good for precision application and contouring. E.L.F has even cheaper brushes, for $1, that I have used in the past with similar good results. I sprung for these studio brushes because they look nicer with the black handles. I am not one to buy expensive brushes (because I spend too much on the makeup and there's not enough $$ left), but these suit me just fine! Would re-purchase and recommend.

Mascara -Prestige - My Biggest Lashes
rated 1 of 5
RedHotPants 7/14/2011 2:39:00 AM

Ugh! I had a high hopes for this mascara, after reading all the reviews. And even by the looks of the brush, which is awesome, had me thinking I'd be getting a false-lashes effect. But the formula sucks; it did nothing but tint my lashes and slick them all together. I tried to give it some time and break it in, but it's been at least a month that I've been using this stuff every day and even in combination with other mascaras, it's crap. Trash time.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed Tarte Blush
rated 5 of 5
RedHotPants 6/23/2011 6:08:00 PM

Wow. I was going to wait a little longer to write a review about this stuff (I've only had it for 10 days), but after wearing this stuff to the gym today (yes, I'm one of those that wears makeup to the gym), I couldn't wait any longer. Despite sweating it out on the treadmill for an hour and busting out dozens of push-ups and crunches, this stuff DID NOT BUDGE. It literally still looked like I had just put it on, contours and all. You can layer this blush, but be warned: it's potent. I used to use Tarte's cheek stain under powder blushes to make them more vibrant, but when I tried that with this blush I looked like a clown-- this powder has enough pigment to stand on it's own. Easy to apply, lasts my entire 12-hour work day (or 2 hour workout)...and gorgeous color. Love love love.

Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow in Glow Nude
rated 3 of 5
RedHotPants 6/18/2011 5:10:00 PM

I like these eye shadows for what they are: cheap. You can get them for like $1 during the semi-annual sale, so I always buy one of every color. They are pretty, shimmery, and seem to have decent staying power (but I always use primer so I who knows how the shadows are on their own). Anyway, I don't really care for the packaging or applicator; with this loose, shimmery powder, it is easy to get little sprinkles of shimmer under my eyes and on my cheek bones because it's just a sponge applicator. It also takes a few swipes over the eyelid because not much product gets picked up by the sponge. Glow Nude is a very pretty neutral shade that is perfect for work/daytime, and can be dressed up at night. I would re-purchase, but not at retail price.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Sorbet
rated 2 of 5
RedHotPants 6/18/2011 5:01:00 PM

I wanted to love this blush, based solely on it's GORGEOUS color. And I do love it, for the first 15 minutes I have it on. My cheeks look peachy and pretty and radiant. And then I leave for work and it's like I never put anything on. The staying power is non-existent. So despite the beautiful color, I would not recommend this blush unless you want to touch up 3 or 4 times an hour.

Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Age Defying Revitalizing Eye Gel
rated 3 of 5
RedHotPants 6/13/2011 12:11:00 AM

Hmmm, would I buy this stuff again? Well, I have bought it repeatedly, but I think it's more based on the price than the results. This stuff is pretty inexpensive, but I can't really tell if it's doing anything for me. I do like to put it in the fridge and apply it once it's cooled down, feels awesome and does seem to de-puff my eyes a bit after a rough night or bad allergies. If you're looking for something based on anti-aging properties, this stuff might not top your list. It is good for day-to-day, though.

Moisturizers -Olay - Age Defying Night Cream
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 6/13/2011 12:07:00 AM

This is a good basic night moisturizer. It is really gentle, which is nice because my skin is like a baby's butt and it freaks out over any little thing. It dries quickly, doesn't feel sticky, and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels soft and moisturized. I sometimes use it during the day with sunscreen if my skin is especially dry or cranky, and it doesn't make me look extra greasy at all. This is good stuff!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 4 of 5
RedHotPants 6/12/2011 9:39:00 PM

I actually really love this foundation. It is versatile and long-lasting. I went through a phase where I was mixing it with moisturizer and it worked wonderfully to give me light, matte coverage. Now I'm back to using it on my T-zone and over blemishes only, and I love how easy it is to blend and build this foundation. From time to time I still have issues with oiliness depending on the weather or how much sunscreen I'm wearing, but 95% of the time my face is shine-free. A little goes a long way, which is nice because the price tag is a little high. Also, this is one of MUFE's non-pump packagings, so it's easy to get every last bit out of the tube. Definitely recommend.
