Hair -Unlisted Brand - Mystic Divine Argan Oil Shampoo
RayvnNA 5/5/2013 1:44:00 AM
I think I'm the only one who is not impressed with this shampoo. I have very thick, naturally curly hair that I blow out regularly. I prefer my shampoos to be more cleansing and my conditioner to do the bulk of the conditioning. I did not get the conditioner from this line so I cannot comment on that, but the shampoo was just too gentle. It was very watery and I found that quite a bit of the product would fall out of my palm before I had the chance to get it to my head or rub it between my palms. It didn't lather very much and this is a problem for me in general. It never felt like it cleaned my hair, almost like it left a film. My hair actually felt a little heavy after cleansing. This might be better for more dry hair? There are shampoos I like much better that are actually cheaper at the drugstore.

Skincare - Face -Olay - Bead Me Up Exfoliating Cleanser
RayvnNA 5/5/2013 1:37:00 AM
I'm always on the search for a good exfoliating cleanser. My skin is nowhere near sensitive. It's very oily so the skin is a little thicker. I get a build up on my skin quickly due to the oil so exfoliating is important. This was too mild for my skin. It might be great for sensitive skin, but it really didn't take care of my dead skin cells. It does smell good and rinses off pretty well. No film left behind so I didn't have to follow up with another cleanser.

Cleansers -Simple - Kind to Skin Refreshing Wash Gel
RayvnNA 2/2/2013 5:30:00 PM
I have very oily skin with no dryness. It is also not sensitive at all and not prone to breakouts. I tend to like very light, mild face cleansers. This is definitely light and mild and I can imagine it being good for sensitive and acne-prone skin. For me it was just okay. It didn't do anything bad at all, it just left my skin feeling like I didn't do anything. I already have a soap I prefer for mild cleansing, which is the DHC Pure Soap. This one isn't better so I will skip it again. But with all the harsh facial cleansers out there, this is a good mild one.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm
RayvnNA 1/26/2013 4:08:00 AM
I absolutely love jumbo pencil style gloss balms. I have and love these from Tarte, Urban Decay, Revlon, Stila and NARS. These, however, are a major disappointment. I have Coral Twist (235) and Jam Twist (255). For one thing the texture is very waxy and there is definitely no shine/gloss finish. The finish is more dull. I had to really build colors by building and building layers, which just left my lips more waxy looking. In fact, Coral Twist sat on my lips, which looked odd and cheap. The colors were also disappointing. I reviewed blog swatches and picked two colors that were more vibrant since I like more pigmented products. Both of these colors were not particularly bright or striking. Instead they looked rather muted. I really can't imagine that any of the other colors would be any better. I'll try other brands, but I won't be buying these Cover Girl Jumbo Gloss Balms anymore.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Proclaim - Argan Oil Intense Moisturizing Shampoo
RayvnNA 12/1/2012 10:32:00 PM
I think I should have looked at reviews before picking this shampoo up at Sally Beauty. My hair is thick and prone to more oily roots so I usually prefer shampoos that are clarifying or volumizing rather than moisturizing. My hair is naturally on the dry side so I follow up with a moisturizing conditioner. Thought I'd give this shampoo a whirl despite the moisturizing claims. This was NOT moisturizing at all. In fact it was incredibly drying. My hair feels very dry and stripped after using. Even a good conditioner doesn't seem to help reverse this awful feeling. The cheapie Herbal Essences shampoos are better so I'll stick to those as cheaper alternatives to salon shampoos.

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek & Shine 5 in 1 Serum Spray
RayvnNA 12/1/2012 10:26:00 PM
I liked the Argan serum from this line so I wanted to try this spray. I usually use oils and creams for finishing my hair and giving it shine. For the record, my hair is thick, coarse and naturally curly. I normally blow it out so it is smooth. It's too difficult to get the amount right with this product. I either spray too little and there is no difference or I spray way too much and my hair is incredibly greasy all day. Some of the other reviews mentioned spraying your hands then smoothing it on. I will try that, but I won't be repurchasing this stuff. Regular Argan Oil works better. I often use just a dab of coconut oil to add shine. I'll stick to that instead.

Moisturizers -Sephora - Instant Moisturizer
RayvnNA 10/17/2012 12:07:00 AM
I received a little sample packette of this moisturizer. I didn't think it was anything special. It performed about average on my oily skin. But I really hope my sample packette was bad or something because the smell was just horrible. Even if this moisturizer was really amazing I don't think I could get over the smell. It smelled exactly like OFF bug spray. No thanks.

Shampoo -Dove - Go Fresh Cucumber & Green Tea Cool Moisture Shampoo for Normal Hair
RayvnNA 4/29/2012 12:02:00 AM
Surprisingly nice shampoo. I wouldn't say its the first shampoo I would pick up at the drugstore, but I would definitely repurchase. The best thing about it is the smell. Very nice and refreshing. I've always loved Dove soaps. Deoderants? Sure! But their hair stuff just never worked that well for me. My hair is thick and slightly coarse. It's more normal/oily at the roots and a bit drier at the ends so I prefer a shampoo that is more cleansing than moisturizing. This does a good job without being too stripping or drying. And I'm using a pretty bad conditioner right now so it says a lot that this is still working for my hair.

Shampoo -Brocato - Saturate
RayvnNA 4/28/2012 11:55:00 PM
This shampoo just wasn't for my hair. I have tried Cloud 9 and really liked it so I thought I'd give this one a try. My hair is more normal to oily at the roots to about halfway down. After that it's on the dry end so I prefer to concentrate my moisture at the ends. I wouldn't call this shampoo overly moisturizing, but my hair just never felt clean. It would also start getting oily too soon after shampooing. This might work for someone who wants a very gentle shampoo.

Conditioner -Organix - Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Conditioner
RayvnNA 3/3/2012 10:08:00 PM
The only good quality about this product is the smell. Very yummy, but avoid if you are sensitive to fragrances. Other than that this conditioner is totally useless. I admit, I never quite know what it means when a product says it is "rejuvenating" or "revitalizing." But whatever this is supposed to do it fails. First, I hate just getting it out of the stupid bottle. Even when the bottle was totally full I had to shake it upside down and squeeze really hard to get anything out. The conditioner is fairly thick and the bottle is not designed to let the liquid out easily. Next is the product itself. It isn't moisturizing in the least and does not leave my hair feeling smooth, detangled and moist. In fact it feels rough, tangled and dry. I've actually found myself using a lot more leave-in conditioner when using this conditioner in order to compensate. Not good.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Renpure Organics Moisturizing Shampoo
RayvnNA 3/3/2012 9:55:00 PM
I wouldn't exactly call this moisturizing. If you're looking for a moisturizing shampoo this isn't it. Now I'm not that concerned with shampoo providing moisture to my hair but this stuff just wasn't that great. It wasn't horrible but I used a ton more product than I usually would because it just wouldn't get my hair feeling clean. I'd blame it on the sulfate-free aspect, but I've used other sulfate-free shampoos that were great and left my hair clean and smooth. I went through this fast, It didn't leave my hair feeling clean. My hair got greasy much sooner than usual. I'm not rebuying.

Treatments -TiGi - Born To Rock Detangler
RayvnNA 2/19/2012 11:44:00 PM
I'm really picky about my leave-in conditioners since most don't seem to do much at all to my hair. My hair is coarse, curly and thick. I blow it out with a round brush most of the time. I've been using some drugstore leave-in conditioners and they feel so heavy and waxy making my hair feel greasy and weighed down. Usually the salon brand leave-ins feel better. There is something about this leave-in conditioner that makes my hair look so shiny and feel soft. It is difficult to over use this product so spray away. It gives hair a nice slip, which makes it easy to comb through when wet. I'll give you an example of how this makes my hair look nicer. I am badly in need of a haircut right now and the ends are a bit dry and damaged. After spraying this one and blow drying with a round brush my ends look so supple and shiny! I've received compliments on it too.

Styling Products -Redken - Real Control Crema Care
RayvnNA 2/19/2012 11:35:00 PM
I picked up this little gem on a whim. So glad I did! My hair is coarse and very thick. It's curly but I blow it out with a round brush most days. My hair is fairly dry and has way too much poofiness to it. This leave-in is creamy and moisturizing without weighing down my hair too much. It takes out some of the volume without being heavy and greasy. I normally use silicone products to help smooth out my hair and give it shine, but I can actually use just the Crema Care and nothing else if I want. I'm happy I stumbled on this product. I will buy it again.

Styling Products -Garnier - FRUCTIS Sleek and Shine - Leave-in Conditioning Cream
RayvnNA 2/19/2012 11:26:00 PM
This really isn't a bad product, it just seems pretty useless. My hair is thick, slightly coarse and curly. I blow it out with a round brush regularly. I really don't find this leave-in conditioner very moisturizing. It didn't leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy, but it was slightly waxy. If it works for you then you're lucky since it's such a huge amount for the price. I have found other leave-in conditioners that work much better.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Straight Works
RayvnNA 1/3/2012 1:15:00 AM
I got a bottle of this for free. It does okay, but not great. My hair is naturally thick, curly and pretty coarse. Without styling/product it gets very frizzy and remains rough. I often blow it out with a large round brush and it smooths out very easily. My hair seems to like silicone products. This was just a little too gel-like rather than creamy or more like a serum, which I prefer. Other reviewers have said it's a little too light and doesn't add any weight to the hair. I'm the same in that I need a little bit of weight to make my hair look silky and remain straight. So this was just okay and I probably will not repurchase. I gave it three stars because it does work fairly well and keeps my hair pretty smooth.
