Mascara -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara
Raquelina 1/2/2013 9:58:00 PM
I had read about this mascara and figured I would give it a try since I had a CVS coupon. Considering this is a more "natural/organic" mascara, I was actually quite pleased. Of course, I would never say it gives a "Fake Out" look like the package claims! I didn't have very high expectations despite the claims though. I do definitely think it's a decent drugstore mascara, even though it won't give you the most dramatic look out there. It actually does give a nice amount of length and volume, though not so much curl. The color is a rich black, and the rubber bristle brush keeps the product from clumping. This may take a some layering to get the look you want, but you can achieve pretty dark, fluttery lashes. If you hate mascaras that leave your lashes crispy and hard, then you'll really like this, as it leaves your lashes naturally flexible. I didn't experience any smudging or flaking with this mascara, though I'm sure if I cried at all while wearing it my face would be a total disaster! I would consider repurchasing, but probably only if I had a coupon/discount again.

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
Raquelina 12/27/2012 5:07:00 PM
I had heard some great reviews on this mascara so I figured I'd try it out, especially since I wouldn't be wasting much money if I hated it. Well, I definitely didn't hate it! This mascara is really great, giving exceptional volume and curl without getting too clumpy. I like that the brush is on the smaller side, which makes it easier to maneuver and get closer to the lash roots. This actually reminds me a fair amount of Too Faced Lashgasm mascara, which I also love, except this gives a bit more volume and that one gives a bit more length. This mascara is impressive in its own right, but at its low price, it simply can't be beat!

Mascara -Tarina Tarantino - Fleur De Lash in Black Opal
Raquelina 10/25/2012 4:36:00 PM
I heard good things about this mascara, so I thought I would give it a try, but it turns out it's just "ok". I finally decided to buy it when all of the Tarina Tarantino stuff was 40% off at Sephora, and I'm glad I didn't have to pay the full price of $19. The brush is big and unwieldy, though I knew that when I bought it, and it's not any worse than DiorShow or Benefit's Bad Gal Lash. Still, I find it really hard to apply this without making at least 1 mark on my eyelids. This doesn't provide the kind of volume I like or would have expected, and doesn't do too much for length either. I would say this gives lashes a more "fluttery" look, but I was hoping for more bold volume. My lashes look nice afterwards, but there's no "wow" factor, especially since I've used cheaper mascaras (Prestige My Blackest Lashes, Jordana Best Lash Extreme) that worked even better. Also, I find the formula of this mascara to be too dry for my liking. The brush has hardly any product on it upon removal from the tube, so I definitely have to dip into the tube more than once for each eye! I can see why others may like this product, but it's just not for me.

Mascara -NYX - Le Chick Flick (waterproof lashes)
Raquelina 8/2/2012 4:59:00 PM
First of all, let me say that I only use waterproof mascara when I know I'm going to the beach or pool. I'm not one of those girls who goes waterproof everyday, so I really haven't tried TOO many mascaras of that variety. Having said that, this is definitely the best wp mascara that I've used. I received a full size of this in one of my Beauty Army boxes, and it has definitely come in handy for the summer. I didn't have high expectations for a NYX mascara, but this definitely stays put on your lashes! This is the only waterproof mascara I've tried that doesn't flake off or smudge at all. Definitely make sure you have a good eye makeup remover! I find this rarely clumps too, though I see from the comments that some disagree. It doesn't seem to have an excessively wet formula either, but again it seems others found their tubes to be quite the opposite. I, however, would gladly purchase another tube of this!

Mascara -Revlon - Photoready 3D Volume
Raquelina 7/11/2012 9:00:00 PM
This is a fairly good mascara, and in my opinion, definitely one of the best Revlon makes. The color is very black, and the plastic brush is able to grab each lash very well. The spiked/domed end certainly helps to lift and flare your outer lashes, which I particularly like. There's almost no clumping with this mascara, but on the other side of the coin, there's not that much volume either. The product does give SOME volume, but not as much as I would like, especially considering the mascara is marketed as imparting "3D Volume". I would say this particular mascara's strengths were lengthening, giving definition, and lifting rather than volumizing. Nevertheless, it's not a bad product at all, so I would consider repurchasing in the future.

Mascara -MAC - Opulash Optimum Black mascara
Raquelina 5/1/2012 5:32:00 PM
I was fairly disappointed in this mascara. I recalled liking the original Opulash (though it wasn't one of my top favorites), so I figured this version had to be even better. Despite it being called "Optimum Black", I've used plenty of mascaras that give a blacker look. It can make quite fluttery, voluminous lashes, but I found it needed more coats than I expected to get my desired look. Also, this mascara becomes dry rather quickly, so that I needed to keep placing the wand back in the tube even just to do one eye. Flaking is an issue too, not only as the day wears on, but even when first applied. While I've definitely used worse mascaras, I expected to like this one much more than I actually did.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
Raquelina 2/16/2012 5:17:00 PM
I've been using this foundation since shortly after it was released. My best match is 04 Nude, and I find it's one of the closest matches to my skin out of the foundations that I own. I have generally "normal" skin with a slightly oily t-zone, but I don't find this to get very oily during the day, certainly not anymore than other foundations I've tried. This gives a nice, medium coverage, but it is buildable. I know that the biggest complaint that people have is the shimmer is this foundation, but it's something I hardly notice. I can see shimmery particles in the bottle, but on my skin I find that it blends so well that it is very subtle. The only slight drawback is the SPF. It's nice to have some extra protection, but I ironically don't often wear this if I'm going to be photographed because I'm worried about flashback.

Mascara -Too Faced - LashGasm
Raquelina 2/1/2012 7:20:00 PM
I received the full size of this mascara in the Too Faced In Your Dreams set over Christmas. I liked that I was getting a full-sized product in the set, but admittedly wasn't too excited over the mascara and definitely wasn't expecting much. I had just run out of my last mascara (Benefit They're Real) and so I began using this one. I was really impressed, even from the first use! This makes my lashes gorgeously long and very black. There is minimal clumping due to the brush, and the brush is very easy to maneuver. Perhaps this could do a but more volumizing, but that's me just reaching for a possible criticism of this product! Really glad that I found another great mascara out there!

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
Raquelina 12/14/2011 9:55:00 PM
I'm not usually a fan of plastic bristle wands in a mascara, but this is an exception. The brush is narrow enough that it doesn't poke you in the eye, yet it adds great length and definition. The pointed tip of the wand is the selling point of They're Real for me, since it really gets to each and every lash to deposit product. I've actually had someone ask me if my lashes were my own the other day, which was a rare compliment that I have to attribute to this! The main downfalls I see in this mascara are that it could hold curl a bit better, and it leaves something to be desired in the volume department. It's definitely more for length, and I'm not usually a fan of lengthening mascaras over volumizing ones, but the look this gives is great. I do find it can be a little bit of a pain to remove, as some others said, but with an oil-based remover I'm able to eventually get it all off.

Mascara -Avon - superSHOCK Mascara
Raquelina 11/16/2011 4:43:00 PM
Such a disappointing mascara, probably the worst I have ever used. I'm not typically a huge fan of the plastic bristle mascara wands, and this case was no different. The wand seems like it has hardly any product on it, and it takes forever to get any build up of color on my lashes. I could accept this from a mascara claiming to give a more "natural" look, but for one claiming to make your lashes big and bold, it's a huge failure for me.

Mascara -Prestige - My Blackest Lashes
Raquelina 9/2/2011 6:05:00 PM
I'll admit I dismissed Prestige as a brand for a fair amount of time, however, thanks to YouTube I realized it was a brand worth trying! I discovered that Prestige actually makes some great products at great prices, including this mascara. My Blackest Lashes is definitely a top drugstore mascara pick for me. First of all, it does have strong black pigmentation which helps define your lashes and add some everyday drama. The brush is a manageable size to get among the lashes, with enough space between the bristles to create some definition and leave minimal clumps. It leaves great volume, and never has an overabundance of product on the brush once it comes out of the tube. The mascara itself can be rather wet the first couple of times you use it, but after that the formula is perfect. This isn't the best mascara for lengthening if that's what you're looking for, but it isn't marketed that way anyway, so I don't find it a big deal. I'm really satisfied with My Blackest Lashes, especially for the price!

Mascara -Revlon - Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara
Raquelina 9/2/2011 5:36:00 PM
Wow, I'm a bit surprised at all of the negative reviews on this mascara! Honestly, I think this is a great drugstore mascara, and certainly one of the best that Revlon makes. I personally don't think the brush is that massive, but then again I've used DiorShow and Benefit's Bad Gal Lash and those brushes are huge! This mascara grabs my lashes well and gives them enough volume while providing some length as well. Clumping is minimal, which is also a plus. I was never under the impression that this mascara was supposed to give a false lash-effect, but if I was then I guess I would be disappointed as some reviewers are. I never trust the hype on any mascara, so I just based my opinion on if the product did what I wanted it to do, and I was definitely pleased.

Mascara -MAC - False Lashes
Raquelina 6/16/2011 5:36:00 PM
I was rather disappointed in this mascara. Now I certainly wasn't gullible enough to think that this actually made your lashes look like falsies, but I was expecting it to give a more intense look. This mascara does a good job with length, but I like a volumized look as well, and sadly this did not deliver. Considering the name, I would have thought the product would plump as well as lengthen, but it didn't, at least for me. I also found the formula to be a bit too dry for my liking. I know plenty of ladies are into the wispy, feathery lash look, but I prefer something more bold, and I did not get the dramatic look I expected from this product.

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
Raquelina 4/10/2011 4:26:00 PM
As a Sephora beauty insider, I received a full size of this mascara with a 500 point Bare Escentuals perk. I will say that it does a really good job at lengthening and defining, but I wasn't that satisfied with its volumizing ability. It's not a bad product at all, but since I mostly look for a volumizing mascara, I would not purchase this myself. I still plan on using it up, but I just layer it with another mascara for the desired volume; since this product really does not clump, it's good for layering!

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professionnel Platinum Air Brush #55
Raquelina 4/8/2011 6:23:00 PM
This is the best foundation brush that I've tried. The bristles are very soft and spread the foundation around evenly. Since the bristles are pliable and not stiff, this brush is absolutely wonderful at blending to get a soft focus finish! Also, I know that most foundation brushes are synthetic anyway, but I find that an especially good quality as I only buy cruelty-free brushes. :)
