Lip Gloss -Bon Bons - Lip Juice in Chocolate
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 12/4/2008 10:55:00 PM

I really hated the smell of this gloss, it was really fake and unpleasant. It was also sticky, had no taste, did not color my lips at all, and made my lips break out, so I would not recommend this, nor will I buy any more lip gloss from Bon Bons. I would say spend the extra money & buy Covergirl Fruit Spritzers (for sheer color, good smell, and slight taste), or Maybelline Shiny-liscious for sheer color, some smell, and the best applicator.

Lip Gloss -Bon Bons - Lip Juice in Grape
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 12/4/2008 10:34:00 PM

This had a very unpleasant fake grape smell, which doesn't exactly fade away quickly, it's super sticky, and had no color on my pale lips. It also appears to have made my lips break out, as I now have two red splotches I didn't have a day ago. I bought this to try it (this & the chocolate one), since I have really been lemming the Maybelline & Covergirl tube glosses, but this Bon Bons gloss was a waste of $1. :( Would not purchase again, ever.

Liquid -Jane - Oil-Free Foundation #01, Ivory
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 11/10/2008 6:50:00 PM

Good things about this foundation: 1: it's a pump bottle, which I think is really nice, less waste & more hygienic. Bad things: It turned orange on me less than 5 minutes after applying it. :( And it looked like a good match for me too. It covered well and was about $4 at Rite-Aid, but still, since it turned orange on me, I do NOT recommend. It's going back to Rite-Aid. If you MUST try it, make sure you can return it.

Liquid -Wet 'n' Wild - Ultimate Cover Smooth Foundation in Bare (852)
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 9/25/2008 9:12:00 PM

EDIT: Will not re-purchase or use. It breaks me out. Will remove my review later. And a pump bottle would be better. Who would have thought that a $3 foundation would be my HG foundation? It's fairly sheer, unlike what the name would have you believe, but it makes my skin look very natural and helps cut down on the redness, which is what I wanted. :) I got this in Bare, their lightest shade, and it's a perfect match for my skin. It doesn't disguise dark under eye circles very well, but I don't mind buying concealer for that. There is a smell, but I personally don't mind it; I'd suggest buying from a store that will let you return makeup. This foundation will however make my cosmetic bag smell, so I try to keep this foundation separated from the rest of my makeup. I say try this, for $3 you get 1 once of foundation, and since you don't really need to use much if you apply with your fingers (a sponge gives really sheer coverage), it will last a while. If you have to replace it before you use it all up, the price is very reasonable.

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - White Lights Glitter 101A
rated 5 of 5
Raeyi 8/22/2008 9:13:00 PM

This is an awesome, FAST drying glitter nail polish for all of $1. It's small particles of green to pink glitter suspended in clear polish. One coat gets some subtle but noticeable glitter, two coats gets definite glitter, and three coats, well, it's glitter everywhere! :) For me, I painted my right hand first, and then my left, and when I was done with my left hand, my right hand was completely dry, even after the second coat! So this is great for adding some glitter in a flash. There is a bit of texture when the polish is dry, but even after three coats I don't think the surface of my nails feels terribly rough. So give it a try, you've only got a $1 to lose and maybe 10 minutes for three coats of glitter. ^-^

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - Purple Pizzazz 133
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 8/22/2008 9:05:00 PM

This is the first time I feel as though I have wasted $1 on a nail polish from NYC. :( This color, while really pretty in the bottle, streaks beyond belief. Yes, I expect a certain amount of streaking from a sheer polish (which you can see if you just open the bottle before buying), but the second coat should be an improvement over the first, it shouldn't make the first coat look worse...*sigh* But I really wanted the bottle color, so I applied a 3rd coat (usually I never need more than two coats), and still, this polish looked AWFUL. All streaks. I did not have the patience for a 4th coat. One good thing, the formula somehow dries really fast, because I was applying normal coats of polish, and by the time I was done with my left hand, my right hand was completely dry, even with two coats of polish on. But since this is so streaky, I cannot recommend it. :(

Mascara -Rimmel - Extra Super Lash mascara
rated 5 of 5
Raeyi 8/8/2008 1:09:00 PM

This mascara is the best $2 you can spend (free if you find it on a bottle of Rimmel's eye make-up remover...which is well worth the $5-6 :) on a mascara. At best, you like it, at worst, you don't and only spent a couple bucks. I had tried this years ago, and then went to CG fantastic lash. I dunno if I got a bad to of the CG from Ulta, but the tube of Extra Super Lash my mom gave me (she's got REALLY sensitive eyes, so she can't use it...my gain :) completely blew the CG mascara away. I could not believe it, but the Rimmel looks so much better. It's natural but better with one coat, and three coats looks really good. Just mind the clumping, it will slightly clump up, but maybe I'm not letting it dry completely? I'll have to see. My one wish? That they made more than black, black-brown, and brown.

Crème -Cover Girl - Aqua Smooth Make-Up in Creamy Natural (# 720)
rated 2 of 5
Raeyi 7/13/2008 6:09:00 PM

I got this shade, and in the compact, it looked darker than my CG powder in Creamy Natural, but when I touched the actual make-up, it matched my skin perfectly. I like the package (but I don't normally carry my foundation around with me), though the mirror is too small to be really useful. The compact closes with a nice click. At first I wondered how it was airtight when I could see through the seam, but there's an indentation over the foundation pan, so that must be how it seals. The compact also has the date when the SPF in the make-up expires on the side in unobtrusive lettering. The sponge is smooth, and glides over the make-up well. You do need to use a light touch when picking up foundation, because it's easy to pick up too much, and then you have to blend it quickly before it dries into the powder finish (so you don't leave lines or darker areas on the skin). The actual make-up made my skin feel as smooth as it did after I applied moisturizer (I have to before using any foundation), but the CG foundation didn't appear to be especially moisturizing, just a regular cream/liquid kind of feel. It did accentuate the drier spots on my skin, but that might be solved by a better moisturizer. My skin looks really good from a reasonable distance, but super close, my skin doesn't look very good. :( But that happens with every foundation I try. Maybe I'm just looking too closely? Also, if I apply it with my ring finger, it makes the BEST concealer for under my eyes I've found. :) Very smooth and natural looking. I got this on clearance for $6 at Target yesterday (so it wasn't as bad as spending $8 if I didn't like it), and I like it so far. If you're unsure, buy it at a drugstore that will let you return cosmetics after you try them. :) EDIT: This is the wrong shade on me after all. My mom said I looked orange. :( I might try one shade lighter than this, but I'm not sure.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Flirt (#38)
rated 5 of 5
Raeyi 7/11/2008 11:53:00 AM

This is a great, deep burgundy. No visible sparkles, just smooth, deep red. The formula is runny, and thin coats work best, so be warned. :) The polish does do a good job of evening itself out, but if too much is applied in one coat, the polish appears to 'sit' on the nail and it will take much longer to dry. As far as wear, I just painted my nails a few minutes ago, so I'll edit with wear time. The last Xtreme polish I tried didn't do so well, so we'll see! I'll also add some pics of the color as well. It's about $3, so not too much money. EDIT 1: Some tiny chips appeared yesterday at the tips after I washed some dishes by hand. EDIT 2: Overall, this polish lasted 5 days of washing dishes by hand with only tiny chips appearing at the tips. I recommend!

Cleansers -Olay - Daily Facials Soothing Cleansing Cloths for Sensitive Skin
rated 5 of 5
Raeyi 7/5/2008 5:25:00 PM

I love these! They made my skin feel the softest it has ever felt, and removed all of my makeup (including mascara and eyeshadow) completely. I really didn't feel the need to apply moisturizer, which is a first for me. I'm planning on using these in addition to the Night Facial cleansing cloths, so yes, I recommend! :)

These dried my skin out. I tried to ignore it, but I could not after using a different type of Olay Daily Facials.

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream
rated 5 of 5
Raeyi 7/4/2008 6:51:00 PM

I love this! Except for the smell, because it's not the greatest scent, but this product really works. I have wavy hair that gets frizzy whenever it feels like it, and this cream puts it right back in line! I applied a little to my dry hair before straightening, and what a difference it made! It worked better than the CHI stuff does (I have a CHI flat iron as well). I only wish I hadn't sprayed the Suave Vibrant Shine Finishing Hairspray on my hair after straightening it. :( That brought the frizzies back out. -__- But I love this cream! You really don't need a lot, I use about a nickel sized amount in my wet hair, and about a...dime size (maybe less, just use what won't make your hair wet looking or greasy; you can always add more later, but you can't remove!) amount before flat ironing. Also, if you apply this cream before combing your wet hair, you won't need de-tangler at all! Not bad for a product that cost about $2.50 -3.00! I recommend! EDIT: This is the only hair product I have carried in my purse...It works well for a touch up as well. :)

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Vibrant Shine
rated 1 of 5
Raeyi 7/4/2008 6:32:00 PM

This is for the Vibrant Shine Finishing Hairspray...Which smells disgusting. :( And it doesn't make my hair any shinier, and pales in comparison to my Tresseme Tres Two hairspray (which is a dollar or so more for a bigger can /: ). Seriously, the smell is awful. I wondered all day today after I used this if my hair smelled really, really bad. :( Not great. Do not buy! Or at least buy somewhere you can return it to...I'm going to see how Suave does refunds, because I cannot stand the smell to use it. But I do want to try their shine serum, just haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Conditioner -Suave - Vibrant Shine conditioner
rated 3 of 5
Raeyi 7/4/2008 6:27:00 PM

I've used this conditioner once so far, and it felt SO creamy...Just what I always want conditioner to feel like, lol. The smell is ok, more...clinical I suppose, instead of perfume-y. My hair felt really soft after I washed this conditioner out, the softest it's ever felt! So I was really happy. As far as shine, I didn't blow dry my hair when I used this, but when I flat ironed my hair the next day, it seemed more shiny and less frizzy than usual. :) EDIT: I have since switched conditioners, and this Suave left white build-up on my scalp. Will not re-purchase

Shampoo -Suave - Vibrant Shine
rated 3 of 5
Raeyi 7/4/2008 6:22:00 PM

I've only used this product once (so far :), but I really like it. It made a really rich, almost thick lather, so I think that you might need less shampoo than what you're used to when you try the Suave. :) The smell was ok for me, I prefer floral, or the Suave Naturals shampoo (just for the smell, basic cleansing, and CHEAP price, lol), but this shampoo (and conditioner) did seem to make my hair shiny. I didn't blow dry my hair (as I only do that when I'm going somewhere, it's less damaging to my hair) this time, but I will next time and will see what happens and update my review! EDIT: I have since switched shampoo's, and this Suave left white build-up on my scalp. Will not re-purchase, thought this shampoo did not seem to be damaging to my hair.
